I was genuinely amazed by the holiday in general. I have nothing negative to say. Top marks all round. Excellent in every way.
Spent a lovely 10 days at this great hotel. I'm not going to bang on about all the wonderfulness of it all, just read the other reviews for that, because its all true. What I will say is that we made some lovely holiday friends, and if you're reading this... Hi to the Welsh tribe, Hi to the Yorkies, Tesco Tony and Emma etc. Hi to the Wolves, Hi to the Scouse scally, Hi to the Potty Stokies and Hi to Erika and Tayla ( hope you treat my noodle well π ) and finally Hi to Sarah and Katie, hopefully see you sometime. You all made our days so much better with our little pool chats and laughs and giving other guests sneaky names π¬ The staff were all lovely, funny and worked so hard and long in the heat. Special mention to the bar star, Valentina who was lovely and put up with my really patchy Spanish! Thank you for looking after Timmy the hotel puss π¦ who can be found crashed out at various locations throughout the day. A couple of things that just could do with improving, the pools need cleaning at least every few days of the scum that accumulates round the water line, I dont think its dirt, its possibly suncream, but it just looks grotty. The pool near the bar is a lot more refreshing than the larger pool which is like a warm bath. The food, well it wasn't awful, it was just geared towards the Germans, brocoli or cauliflower cheese at breakfast, really? There was usually a full salad bar on and cakes etc. The English bits were cheap and nasty sausages and sloppy scrambled eggs and sometimes hash browns. The egg cooking station was okay and that's where you find the weird smoked bacon, if you can call it that, it's not as we know bacon. Main meals were a bit repetitive and consisted of pork, chicken and fish. But it was all edible and there was usually something to find. Deserts were a few cakes, decent ice cream and some fruit, mainly a hell of a lot of melon! Drinks were a help yourself affair which was good. So all in all a really memorable time did we have, would we return? Maybe we'll see. We did eat out a few times and we can highly recommend Simbol, by the square down by the harbour. The Lamb ribs! OMG I'm still obsessing about them, fantastic value food and well worth a visit if only to sit near the much needed fans. You could do a lot worse than coming here, and the bonus of course is there's not brats and their entitled parents to spoil it.
Went here as a couple with our adult son and we were incredibly impressed for the most part. I am still going to give it 5 stars, for the value for money aspect alone, but I do still want to give some more detailed feedback in terms of pros/cons.
Pros:
Cons:
But like I said, I want the positives to be what you focus on, I just hope that the hotel take my feedback and make it even better because overall this is an amazing resort that I would definitely go back to.
Fabulous hotel. Lift too small but everything else superb
This is a lovely hotel in a quiet part of Portocolom. Everything was spotlessly clean and the daily housekeeping was very efficient. Our highlight was the food. Every meal was very good, the food was always fresh and hot. Plenty of choice and all dishes regularly replenished. Definitely the best all inclusive buffets we have ever had. All the staff were friendly and happy to help. An easy walk from the hotel to both the centre of Portocolom and the nearby beach. There is regular bus service to Portocristo and Cala D'Or and also boat trips from the harbour. Highly recommend this hotel.
