Opened in 1997 and refurbished in 2008, the family-friendly Prinsotel La Dorada enjoys an excellent location in the heart of the Platja de Muro area, only 150 metres away from the fine sandy beach going on almost endlessly and the crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea, and just next to the beautiful S'Albufera Natural Reserve, which can be visited for free. Puerto de Alcúdia and Can Picafort are 5 and 6 km away, respectively, and can be easily reached by a regular bus connection. The aparthotel is constructed around a wonderful pool and garden landscape with 1,500 m2 of pool surface including children's pools. Younger guests will love the mini-club or the playground, while the parents get pampered and relax in the fantastic spa area. Sports facilities such as mini-golf, cycling or windsurfing are available. This hotel is perfect for a family holiday under the Mediterranean sun.
The stay was the best, and the service was awesome. :) Overall, good breakfast—the made-to-order omelet was great. For dinner, they have different themed nights; sushi night was amazing! The best waiter was Mohamed—he was super nice and fun. I would love to give 10 stars, but there are only 5. Highly recommended for families! :)
Very family friendly. We had a wonderful stay. The staff is very kind and the food is great. We did not have the club option but did not feel the need during our stay either. We had our 11 month baby with us and it was a wonderful hotel for this purpose. They even had a baby activity room and pool. We also got good recommendations for activities. The pool is good. The gardens and surroundings clean and neat. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
My partner and I had an amazing stay at the hotel. Everything from the room to the facilities was spotless and well looked after, but the highlight of our trip was definitely the breakfast every morning.
The food selection was great, and what made it truly special was Tatiana. Seeing her welcoming smile first thing each day really set the tone for our mornings. She was always so cheerful, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed before heading out. Thank you Tatiana and the whole team for making our holiday so memorable, we’ll definitely be back!!
We have stayed in other Prinsotels before so were excited to give La Dorada a try this time. We were slightly put off by reviews saying it’s a hotel for younger children as we were travelling with two teenagers. However, we didn’t experience this issue as the hotel is large enough to find our own quiet spot. The pools are magnificent and families with younger children chose loungers around the shallower pools while we found the perfect spot near a deeper one. Sun loungers are always available with plenty of fresh towels - meaning that’s one less thing to pack. Our two bedroom suite was plenty big enough for the four of us with a fab view over the nature reserve. Loved seeing flamingoes every morning! We visited the spa which was superb and a quiet oasis of calm. We also enjoyed some of the evening entertainment- the magician a real highlight - although the bar service was really slow which was a shame as everyone else was efficient and friendly. Such a great hotel!
I travelled with my husband, one year old child, and my parents. We thought it was a nice hotel with a lovely, safe, family atmosphere, but overall, we will not be back, and this is mainly due to the food.
Staff were lovely. Carolina could not have been more helpful. All the cleaning staff we met were so friendly.
Rooms - The two bedroom family suites with a pool are laid out well for a couple with a toddler. A con was that the floors are very slippy. I felt there should have been a warning about this. The noise of banging doors in the evenings is also annoying when you have a toddler. They are very loud. I think they are fire doors and this is why, but maybe some signage would be helpful to encourage guests to not let their doors swing closed.
Food - We expected good quality from a 4 star resort at this price point. I would suggest charging more for food if you need to and increase the quality of the produce and hire more staff so more things may be cooked to order. The additional restaurants you can visit as part of the Club deal are fine, but not great. The grill is better than the buffet, but we still couldn't describe it as good quality. Picco was very diaappointing in our opinion - portions were huge and just poorly executed dishes. The food really lets down this lovely hotel.
Pool facilities - This is a highlight. The baby and toddler pools are fabulous, with lots to keep a toddler engaged, especially with lots of other kids around. The toy play area beside the pool area is a lovely touch as well. The sun beds etc are all great and everything seems clean.
Value for money - Overall, poor value when I consider the quality of the food. It was just disappointing when the facilities are so nice.
