We stayed for 10 nights at this hotel as a family of 4 (including a 14yr old and a 16yr old).
As we got off our transfer bus we were immediately greeted by a staff member, who helped take our cases inside and offered us all a drink. We thought this was a nice touch.
The grounds are lovely and well maintained.
We stayed in room 8001, which was at the end of block 8, on the ground floor, and had a view of the pool. Room was clean and there plenty room for all 4 of us. Sofa bed that was able to be folded away during the day was helpful. Lots of storage space for cloths.
Love the fact the hotel have a circular eco ethos. That meant there is a water cooler available that we could fill the carafe from kitchenette, and pop it in fridge to have later. It counts how many plastic bottles they have prevented being used. They use a local farm for meat and try to use ingredients from within a short distance of the hotel.
Food is always going to be a hit or a miss when catering for so many people but we found it to be a good selection. Especially enjoyed the seafood, including lobsters, crab and lagoustines!
Animation team do a lot of the shows themselves, with just the odd one being external and, with that in mind, they were pretty good. Plenty of activities on throughout the day for all ages, including darts, water polo, a taste of mallorca, cocktail making etc.
Location is excellent. It has a path directly to the beach. I hate sand but took some swim shoes and we enjoyed ocean paddles and walk along the beautiful pier a few times. Just beautiful. I did see reviews about the seaweed but in all honesty, it wasn't something the hotel can do anything about. Legally, the government aren't allowed to remove it so it is raked into mounds, dries out, then gets put back into the sea. This helps with the colour we were told. I still thought the beach was beautiful. There are a few shops across the road from the hotel and we also got a bus just across the road, which took about 20mins to take us to alcudia (approx €13 return for all 4 of us).
My only criticisms of the hotel are the food and entertainment is only on a 7 day rotation so if you stay longer, you will get repeats. Maybe a 14 day rotation would be better. The biggest issue for us was that we had to set an alarm every day in order to get sunbeds. Too many people reserving them and then disappearing for hours at a time. There are signs saying not to reserve but they are ignored and not enforced. Beds being reserved as early as 6am. For this reason alone, I wouldn't return, as I don't expect to have to set an alarm on holiday.
We had an amazing experience at the Playa garden selection hotel. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The view to the sea is breathtaking. The beach and weather were all wonderful and I'm glad that I came here. The rooms are nice and organised. Taking into consideration the fact that we have a kid with celiac ,the hotel managed to make a safe place for our son, as there is no risk of contamination. He could enjoy delicious gluten free meals and have fun. All in all , the hotel is 100% worth it and I would recommend it to anyone.
The location of the hotel is perfect, direct access to the beautiful beach with clear water (when the conditions are right as some days/times there is some seaweed). The rooms are spacious with a little kitchenette which is handy but a glass door into the toilet & shower area is not good for a blended family like ours. The rooms do have air conditioning but it wasn’t cool enough for me but it has been particularly hot this week. Unfortunately the food has seriously let down the rating of my review. When booking I always look at reviews and they seemed positive for here but it’s standard all inclusive and nothing special at all unfortunately. Luke warm dishes with not much flavour and the labelling of dishes is terrible, loads missing or totally wrong so I wouldn’t want to stay here with a food allergy. Repetitive choices and very oriented for the German pallet. Not many British people here at all, mainly Germans so you need to get up early to reserve a good spot for your sun lounges but there are plenty to be fair.
Breakfast starts far too late for me at 8am as my child is already up by 6.30 so that’s a long time to wait for even a cup of coffee! Most hotels will do a continental breakfast only from earlier to cater for the early risers.
The wristbands are useless too, my son is on number 3 already on day 4 and I am on my second. They look pretty but not very practical when they fall off all the time.
The staff are all very polite and helpful though but unfortunately I won’t return as the food is just not good enough with poor quality chewy meats. For some reason as well the Fanta from the pool bar is just not fizzy at all and sugar free! We’re on holiday I want the full sugar version that actually tastes nice!
very nice family resort with direct access to the beach. Location slightly off but public bus station right in front of the hotel to get to the centre of Alcudia, which is worthwhile to visit. Food was very good with themes every other day. Rooms are huge and convenient with a separate sleeping room. Rooms might need some renovation soon. We stayed 11 days and enjoyed it. Kids club and activities for the kids were great (mainly in spanish, german, some dutch), very friendly staff in general. We can recommend without hesitation.
Very good location. Excelent food. Nice quest expercience ambasador Kasia. Rooms need to bee a little refresh.
