We recently stayed at this hotel in Palma and, unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to expectations.
We arrived at 12pm and were informed that check-in wasn’t until 3pm which we didn’t know about and the only option offered was to pay around £300 for an different room if we wanted access before then. While waiting, I noticed the water station in the foyer was empty. When I asked if there was more available so I could refill a small bottle, I was told we couldn’t refill our bottles with the water which didn’t feel particularly welcoming.
The check-in process was also lacking in information. No explanation was given about how to use the lift or where facilities such as the pool, gym or spa were located, leaving us to find everything ourselves.
The room itself was generally fine but the floors were particularly unclean and we had to spend some time cleaning the floor before we felt comfortable. The room has basic furniture but the mini fridge was useful.
We asked for an iron and it came wrapped around the ironing board to prevent people from stealing it I’m guessing, making it impossible and infuriating to use.
The pool area was pleasant enough, with good music throughout the day and complimentary towels for the sunbeds. However, the pool is quite small for the size of the hotel and smoking around the pool wasn’t being monitored which affected the atmosphere for me. Drinks from the pool bar were also very expensive.
The gym was disappointing, as it was extremely hot with no working air conditioning. The floors were absolutely filthy. Similarly, the “luxury spa” felt dated, dingy and uncomfortably warm, which wasn’t the relaxing experience you’d want. I don’t know how they can call it luxury.
On the positive side, the hotel provides Rituals toiletries in the bathroom, which was a nice touch, and the view from our seventh-floor balcony was nice on the left hand side of the building.
We only paid for breakfast and found it to be a very good selection each morning - that was the best bit of the hotel it was super food at breakfast.
Overall, there were some good points but the service, facilities and attention to detail didn’t match the price point. I would probably go back to the hotel though perhaps during a quieter, cheaper time of year.
This place was horrendous. Don't book. Massage was so bad the girl was massaging in between my toes for a deep tissue. She was rude too. Talk about a non relaxing massage. You can never reach the front desk if you need something. The elevators worked 50% of the time. If you want good service then don't book. The rooms were gross. I can only imagine if you didn't book a non view room. Oh yea they will charge your card once you leave the hotel and make you pay for the drinks you didn't take from the fridge
It’s the fourth consecutive year I have been to this hotel and the quality and standards are absolutely excellent. The consistency of those standards is just as high as when we first came which was 10/10. The hotel is very professionally ran and the facilities, staff, cleanliness, food, drinks and everything else the hotel offers has been of the highest quality. We will be going back again next year as this hotel and Palma deliver everything we want from a holiday.
It’s not very often that I feel the need to write a review, but felt on this occasion I had too.
We are staying at the Meliá Palma Marina hotel, it is a great hotel and we have stayed before, but our experience this visit has been absolutely perfect thanks to Germane Satlari Martinez.
His approach to customer service is beyond the level of other guest services I have experienced. His mannerism, attitude and approach to problems and the people he meets is exactly the way that all customers would want and that any employer should aspire their staff to replicate.
Great service and thank you Germane.
Kind Regards Nick
Great location. Walking distance from many restaurants. Marina facing Poolside atmosphere is great either covered areas where meals and drinks are available to purchase. The breakfast buffet is impressive whereMimosas are available as well. The rooms were smaller than the pictures suggest. However, large by European standards. I had to add a 3rd room to our existing bookings. The rate was high due to last minute booking. The front desk gentleman was very courteous and patient with our large group accommodations One of the best customer service experience in Mallorca.
