Son Caliu Hotel and Spa Oasis

Location really good, easy to walk to beach, local restaurants, bars & local amenities all within easy reach. Albeit some of the roads are fairly steep. A very pleasant atmosphere throughout the hotel, rooms impeccably clean. Very comfy beds. Tea, coffee, kettle to hand. Good value, we were bed & breakfast, but used the restaurant several times for lunch & evening meal. The hotel is calm & the staff provided excellent service & were professional & friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The Spa & the gardens are absolutely brilliant. So relaxing, your choice, shade or sun, so peaceful in the garden. Indoor & outdoor pools, even direct access to the beach! We will be returning!! 👍

Good location with a relaxed adult friendly atmosphere. Spotlessly clean, with very friendly & sociable staff. Decent sized rooms with good amenities. Overall the hotel gives good value for money and is a step above its neighbour - Ponent Mar where we have stayed a few times. We preferred Sin Caliu over Ponent Mar because it was quieter and seemed more upmarket.

• Paid for a room upgrade that didn’t actually exist and had to chase the hotel for a refund.
• Hotel advertises itself as disability friendly – it is not.
• Despite both myself and TUI requesting a ground-floor room (disability) well in advance, we were placed on the second floor.
• Numerous steps throughout the hotel and the platform lifts are extremely slow, making accessibility poor.
• Breakfast was average; the fruit juice was so watered down it had almost no taste.
• Sun loungers around the pool were constantly reserved, with no action taken by staff.
• Ants in the grass around the pool bite.
• Air conditioning is restricted in the rooms.
• Our room needed minor repairs and parts of the hotel smelled damp.
• Entertainment schedule was inaccurate and couldn’t be relied upon.
• We were overcharged for minibar items we never used & had to be credited.
• The atmosphere around the pool was often spoiled by loud, low brow disruptive guests drinking large amounts of vodka they had brought themselves.
• The hotel feels more like a 3-star property than the standard it advertises.

*Indoor hotel bar is never open.

• There are far better hotels in the area offering better quality and value for money.
• Our experience was so disappointing that we cancelled our August stay and booked elsewhere.
