Set just steps from the crystal clear waters and wide stretch of sand at Palmanova beach, this family-friendly hotel offers the perfect vacation spot on the sunny island of Mallorca. Families will delight in the four outdoor pools, including a large lagoon-style pool, children's pool and paddling pool for toddlers, and the hotel offers a full programme of entertainment with parties, evening shows and live music for adults and children alike. There is also a nursery and Flintstones-themed multi-adventure children's park. The two main restaurants offer rich and varied buffets with show cooking and international and regional dishes, while the pool bar and lounge bar serve a wide choice of drinks, juices and ice creams. This hotel's excellent facilities, services and location make it ideal for enjoying a carefree family holiday and discovering the most beautiful corners of the Mediterranean.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Well what a stay we had at the Sol Palmanova. I stayed with my children who also loved it Let me write a brief summary:
Cleanliness around the hotel in public areas was fantastic , you could have ate your dinner in the toilets! ( although I don’t recommend!) You only have to go to the McDonald’s down the road to see what a difference a clean area makes! The room was cleaned and sheets and towels changed every day if needed, the workers work so hard to keep the place as clean as possible and this has to be commended.
Location is fantastic! Right behind the hotel is a nice shaded area of trees which leads out to the beautiful beach and a selection of shops, bars and restaurants. Around 1km walk will take you to McDonald’s if the kids fancy a change. I wouldn’t recommend going out the front way as there doesn’t seem to be much pit that direction, although I could be wrong.
The food is absolutely fantastic, maybe I am easy to please compared to other reviews but there was a huge selection which varied each night. Turkey, chicken, salmon, veal, hake was just a small sample of meats and fish on offer. Burger bar, pizzas, pastas, a cracker and cheese section, ice cream machine with a selection of sauces, fruit which was fresh and very tasty (particularly the melon, pineapple and grapes). There was also different variants of chocolate fudge cake most nights which was a personal favourite of mine! The snack bar is outside from 10:00 to 18:30 and indoors to 23:00 after dinner service. Not as large of a selection obviously but handy if you don’t want to go into the restaurant for lunch. Just the usual on offer here, burgers, pizzas, salad etc, and enough ingredients to make a sandwich if you wish! It’s not advertised, but the chef should be happy to make you a toastie if you make your sandwich and hand it to him.
The entertainment was fantastic, the entertainment staff were energetic, friendly and not interfering with you if you preferred to keep yourself to yourself on your holiday. There are various activities throughout the day including table tennis, aqua gym, pool biking, darts etc. There are kids clubs for the little ones too that appeared to be split up by age. The night time entertainment was top quality. There was an acrobatic show and there was a similar act who made it quite far in BGT 2026 for anyone who seen it, to give an idea of some of the quality on offer. There is a mini disco each night for the kids, and the shows outside tend to end around 22:30 which is nice if you want an early night or want a dander down the town. There is two shows per night to choose from, with one being outside in the Sol Palmanova 2, and the other being inside in Sol Palmanova 1. The inside entertainment we never seen, this was going on later one night with karaoke, so maybe this is later generally than 22:30.
Rooms were fantastic, don’t listen to the naysayers. Yes you aren’t getting a penthouse but it is sufficient for a family for a week or two in my opinion. Our room had a fridge (which I was happy about as I was unaware of this before our stay), air conditioning, a nice bathroom and a modern tv with BBC 1 etc which was handy for the football!
The sunbed situation is fine, I don’t understand the negativity, you definitely don’t need to get up in the middle of the night to reserve your bed LOL. Yes it maybe be tricky to get your ideal spot but there was sunbeds available all day you just had less choice of where to put them! More umbrellas would have been nice and they were very heavy to move but this is not a massive issue.
Overall we had an excellent week and it was brilliant value for money. Please don’t listen to the negative reviews and if you are interested in this hotel please go.
The only huge negative I have is having to come home!
Our last day here after 10 nights thank god.. Came last year and loved it.. this year awful.. just an honest review that's all. First arrived and after pre requesting sol palmanova no.1 with a high floored room we ended up in sol palmanova no.2 .. with the lowest floored room with the worst ever balcony view I've ever had on Any holiday.. pictured below.. Food started off ok but went down hill drastically!! And I'll eat anything but for example the scrambled egg was like soup, the lasagne totally tasteless, a lot of the times no cups or glasses... Pool area horrendous, with too many kids kicking and throwing full sized balls etc in a very narrow pool....not enough room for the amount of guests in each hotel.... seems like nobody in charge, like a free for all,at night kids booting footballs against tables etc even when told not too, seems like a totally different hotel compared to last year and will not be coming back again....shame as the location is ideal....
to start off with the location of this hotel is great it’s near a bunch of shops, food places and the beach! overall the hotel isn’t great our hotel room was tiny no room to move and we had a baby with us, the food is terrible and they don’t do drinks for children at the bar only pure orange juice with bits. also i would like to add at reception theirs a board stating sunbed reservations are not permitted even though every day we have been here we have not been able to get a sunbed due to people reserving them from around 6am if not earlier. not enough umbrellas for sunbeds outside so it’s to warm to sit in the sun without any shade.
the entertainment each night was amazing the children’s entertainment started at 8:30pm till just after 9pm great for older children and the actual entertainment from 9:30pm.
the hotel is relatively clean rooms are cleaned each day fresh towels and bedding.
overall i would come to this part of mallorca again just a different hotel
Second visit and we all had a great time. Rooms were small but enough for us and cleaned daily. There was fresh fish and meat with paella, pizza and pasta at all meals and snack bar ideal. The entertainment is aimed at younger children though so perhaps looking at games more suited to age ten and over as grandson was bored. Water polo, ping pong games that could include them maybe. No issues with staff and overall a great holiday and will be back soon.
I had a wonderful time with my mom at Sol Palmanova ll ! Mr Eduardo in the buffet was extremely friendly & helpful. We looked forward to seeing him for our meals. I would definitely recommend & come again. Thank you.
