Lovely roof top bar with amazing cocktails. Best expresso martini I’ve have and my sister got a free birthday cocktail which really got the night going. Evian was amazing, made sure we were looked after, service was quick and drinks amazing!!
Our 3rd visit to the Fergus Tobago as we had enjoyed it so much. Sadly we are at the end of our 2 week stay and will not be returning. If this hotel prefers large - rude - noisy groups of males and females who treat the hotel as though it was their own - this is not enjoyable for couples who have previously loved this hotel. The staff in the hotel are so pleasant and particularly the dining room staff who work so hard and always smile. But they are not able to keep to previous standards because of the horrendous mess left on and under tables and “chopping areas” (the mess looks as though dozens of children have eaten at the tables ) - and this is taking staff so long to clear - as well as dealing with the constant demands of “the large groups “but the amazing loyal staff could not work harder and are a credit to the hotel and I feel this is upsetting them as well .The Sky Bar and pool area also taken over by the “large groups” and not a bit like our previous wonderful visits. This is not a cheap hotel and we have been prepared to overlook the small inadequate rooms before but now not worth the money.
It is with great sadness we give this review as we had recommended this hotel to friends who will not stay here now either.
Further to this review it is now October and Jet 2 holidays are still looking into our complaint !!!!!!! Please Jet 2 realise that o our holiday ( and 3rd visit to Hotel Fergus Tobago ) was ruined. You know exactly why as reviews around this period clearly illustrated - since June not many complaints and good reviews same as we gave on the last two visits ! Why oh why didn’t you just give us fair compensation for a holiday that was spoilt by a large group of arrogant rude people who had no regard for any other visitors . Doesn’t the fact that some hotels won’t allow these groups to stay with them tell you something.

Honest Hotel Review
I had seen this hotel online and read some really positive reviews from other guests who had stayed, so I was looking forward to our holiday. Unfortunately, there were a few things that left me disappointed.
🍴 Food & Drink
We arrived on Thursday and were really impressed with the evening meal, which had an Asian theme. There was sushi, lobster and oysters, and the hostess told us that there would be a different theme each night, which sounded fantastic.
However, over the weekend, the food seemed to be much the same each evening. We were particularly looking forward to the Italian night, but unfortunately it was quite disappointing. The pizza and cannoli were already things that had been available on previous nights, so there didn’t really seem to be anything new or different.
The drinks were okay, although quite expensive. I was also disappointed that we had to pay for water. I appreciate that we were on a half-board basis, but on previous holidays water has always been provided free of charge, so this was unexpected.
🏊 Pool
The main pool is very deep, but it’s lovely for a good dip and swim. There were plenty of sun loungers, although we found that the sun didn’t really reach the pool area until around lunchtime.
The biggest downside for us was the location of the pool. It’s right next to the road, so there was quite a lot of traffic noise and occasional car horns. We found this made it difficult to completely switch off and relax around the pool.
We didn’t use the rooftop pool, mainly because there were no loungers available unless you wanted to pay what we felt were quite expensive prices to hire one of the day beds.
📍 Location
The hotel is right on the edge of the Magaluf strip, which was absolutely fine for us. It did get a little noisy over the weekend, but we were still able to sleep without any major problems.
The location is also good if you enjoy walking, with some lovely walks along the beaches and promenade towards Palmanova.
⭐ Overall
Overall, I wanted to love this hotel because of the great reviews I’d seen before booking, but unfortunately, I came away feeling quite disappointed with some aspects of our stay.
The hotel itself has some positives, particularly the pool, location and access to the promenade, but the food not being as varied as expected, the additional cost of water and drinks, and the noise around the pool were all things that affected our experience.
This is just my honest experience, and everyone’s expectations are different, but I think it’s important to share a balanced review for anyone considering booking.

The reception team and all the staff, no matter where you go, cannot do enough for you.
On arrival, our room wasn’t ready, but we changed into our swimwear, had our free welcome drink and ordered lunch in the downstairs bar before heading to the pool.
Breakfast is definitely 5-star, with everything you could possibly think of, including gluten-free options, skimmed milk and even Cava if that’s what you fancy! 🥂
We were B&B but ate in the hotel one evening and, again, you couldn’t fault the food. It was delicious.
We had room 2209 overlooking the pool and sea. Whilst it’s compact, it was very clean and the bed was soooo comfortable! If we had one gripe, it would be the bathroom, which is part of the bedroom with a frosted glass door, so absolutely everything can be heard! 😂
The fridge was great, as was the air conditioning. The TV has a couple of UK channels too. There are 4 USB points, so no need for adapters unless you’re taking a hairdryer — although there’s one in the room anyway.
The pool isn’t heated, but for me it was perfect… albeit very deep! There’s a good mixture of music during the day, but it’s not too loud, so if relaxation is what you’re after, this is definitely the place.
No towel rushing for beds either, although for a 5-star hotel they do charge for the Bali beds, which no one used whilst we were there.
The rooftop pool is shallow, with mainly Bali beds and a bar, and the views are gorgeous. The bar staff are amazing and constantly checking if you need drinks or food. The lady from Argentina is so lovely. ❤️
The pool guy had his work cut out with a large, very excitable party, but they’d just arrived for a special birthday and they certainly kept me amused! 😂
The location is Palma — not Magaluf as some people state. It is right at the end of the beach, so depending on which direction you walk when leaving the hotel, you can head towards Magaluf or Palma Nova.
We actually enjoyed walking to Magaluf beach, where there are loads of bars and restaurants along the front. It’s slightly less expensive and the food in Blackbeard’s was excellent. Some of the bars and restaurants in Palma Nova are a little more expensive but lovely. If you’re looking for sports bars, just keep walking through Palma and it gets a little livelier.
We absolutely loved our week at this hotel and will definitely return.
It is a 5-star, although maybe it doesn’t quite reach the top end of the 5-star scale — but it’s definitely not a 4-star.
The location is excellent if you want to be close to the beach, as it’s literally within stumbling distance! 😂
Would we stay again? ABSOLUTELY!! ❤️
