Fake four star - don’t bother
We stayed as a family of 3 (one adult and my two teen kids) and the first word that comes to mind about this hotel is that it is utterly fake. Utterly superficial beauty. The location and the lobby make you think that you’re going to get top quality service. Don’t be fooled. I’ve stayed in the 3 star Sol House which was superior in every way. Nothing about this place is 4 star.
Rooms- The standard rooms are half the size they show on the photos. I’ve seen prison cells that are bigger. The shower makes you either barbecue yourself or cryogenically freeze. The Wi-Fi is non existent. The TVs only play Spanish TV and no plug socket nearby. There are bidets in the bathrooms, so welcome to 1986. The lobby is the only part of the hotel that is in good condition- so that they can falsely advertise it as 4 star.
Staff- There are never enough reception staff and all of the female staff are impolite and bad mannered- if you’re a woman that is. They love the men it seems. Toxic Misogyny from women. Well done Melia!
Pools- They closed the main pool when they ran out of pool towels! You’re a 4 star hotel apparently yet you don’t have enough towels. And even then, why take it out on the guests? No changing rooms near the main pools so be prepared to change in the disgusting toilets. No they’re not cleaned regularly. Their whirlpool spa thing is downright dangerous. It’s full of mould, chipped tiles and probably tetanus. The drain nearby looked more inviting. No one went in. And of course it looks amazing in their photos.
Service- We had an early tour one morning so I asked for a breakfast box. No can do. Only for people catching flights pre 6am. And yes another rude response from a female staff member when I asked.
The Level- I wouldn’t pay for the Level. I’d have been so annoyed to stay in this hole of a hotel and pay a premium price for it! Their pool is also about half the size they show in the photos- and it even looks small there.
Late checkout- don’t bother asking. They tell you to wait until the morning of checkout, which is stupid in itself. Everywhere else I’ve stayed allows/encourages you to make early requests. And it’s an exercise in futility. They pretend to “check” your room but she didn’t even change screens as I stood there and watched. She then smiled sweetly and told me it wasn’t available. And when I asked more she said “no”” and left the desk. Lovely. Maybe I should have had a gender change to sway the deal.
All in all don’t stay here. Waste of money. Save yourself! I’m sure their team will be furiously penning their response to me, making detailed representations. I wouldn’t believe a word that comes out of their mouth. Then again perhaps they won’t bother. I am female, after all.

Good stay but let down by a few issues
Overall we had a good stay but there were some concerns which would prevent us from booking here again
The room for a family was a bit small we ended up moving the sofa bed to give us better floor space, having a table (with no chair) in the room was helpful but it was also in the way. Bathroom was nice & functional but the shower temperature was fluctuating so we nearly got scolded by it. Cleaners came in everyday to empty the bins & change the towels so all good there.
We were only b&b but breakfast was good with a wide selection only thing letting it down was that the hot food was barely warm We ate at the restaurant next to the pool & that was nice but service was poor our waitress was miserable & slammed our drinks on the table multiple times not sure what her problem was 🙄
The main pool was lovely we enjoyed it in there but we had an issue with beach towels not being able to get a towel for 2 days we were told they had ran out of towels - not good. And a serious problem with not enough sun beds the crazy thing is there is plenty of room to add more beds so we didn’t get a sunned for 2 days either & went to the beach for a few hours instead Plus the accessibility to the pool from the hotel is terrible no ramps just steps & the stair chair was permanently covered up The kids pool was a bit soulless just not atmosphere up there & feels a bit away from everything.
The hotel is in a good location & the beach is lovely the payable beds outside the hotel were very expensive & not worth it in our opinion.
Short walk to the shops & restaurants & we we went out every night for tea & had some lovely drinks & food.

Sad and disappointed
Feeling very sad and disappointed in our trip to Melia calvia beach this time round., we've been here 3 times previously but have received a substandard service this time round. On arrival reception staff were good and gave us our keys and all the info, he was very polite which was a good start, on arriving at our room it was very small for being classed as a family room, the bed for our 11 year old daughter is an uncomfortable fold away bed which has been positioned directly infront of the mirror which would usually be used to get dressed . Next we headed to the pool, which was ridiculously busy, not a single bed/lounger was available, I made the life guard aware and he said to try the fanily pool, and also South beach, I'd already checked but went in search again, unfortunately didn't find one so headed to main reception where the staff advised me to speak to the pool concierge. I done as they advised but the staff on this desk didn't understand my query and kept asking if I wanted towels. I think I'll avoid this hotel in future, the service has really gone down hill and they have clearly overbooked their hotel for what facilities they have available. :-(
Meliá lost a loyal customer today ! Poor handling of a problem on our final night
The hotel is family-oriented and has some good features, but our final night was extremely disappointing.
At 10:30 pm we reported that the A/C in our children’s room was not working. Maintenance was no longer available, the first solution offered was a fan, and later we were offered another room on a different floor. However, because of “hotel policy”, we were told we had to completely empty the original room before being allowed to use the replacement.
This meant packing and moving everything around midnight with exhausted children. They finally went to sleep around 1:00 am, and my wife and I ended up sleeping separately so we would not leave them alone on another floor.
The following morning, management offered no meaningful compensation or resolution. Technical problems happen; what disappointed us was the rigid response and lack of proper service recovery.
Also worth knowing: hotel parking is expensive and very limited, while the free option means finding public street parking nearby. The elevators are very small and often insufficient at busy times.
The beach is pleasant, but the surrounding Magaluf area is much more focused on international party tourism than on an authentic Mallorcan atmosphere.
As a MeliáRewards Gold member, I expected much better handling from Meliá.
