Sol Mirador de Calas

We've just got back from a week's stay here, after reading some reviews and the comments made in the Facebook page for this hotel I got quiet worried just before we arrived, not knowing what to expect. Overall we had a really good holiday with just a few things to bear in mind. We personally had a great experience with all the staff we dealt with on our stay, entertainment team are fantastic, the evening shows we're really good and definitely worth watching. We didn't take part in any activities during the day as its just not our thing. We paid the extra for the My Favourite Club. Room was amazing, made use of the coffee machine, bath robes, and the pool towels included every day. The view was absolutely stunning 😍 (although I think most rooms pretty much have the same view) the sun lounger area is nice although it does stay pretty shaded by the trees, theres only a handful of loungers that actually get the sun. This area is quiet far away from the bar, pool etc so be mindful of that. Whilst we was in there we saw quiet a few people climing over the roped area to enter they all had red wristbands on (if your vip your wristbands are black) we knew they shouldn't of been in there we didn't say anything as it didn't really bother us that much but it didn't feel very private and I think that could be looked at. The same with the 'exclusive ' lounge area with snack bar, we saw people on there with red wristbands on that had clearly made friends with people that had paid the bit extra, and were entering with them. Again didn't seem that exclusive. We personally wouldn't pay for the my favourite club again. We found the food just ok, there wasn't much choice really and even though they did different 'themed' nights we still found it to all be the same, we ventured out alot for food. We really enjoyed the independent moka coffee bar by the smaller outside pool, it wasn't included but was well worth the extra cost 2 coffee and 2 breakfast sandwiches around €15 and they were amazing. There's not much to do around the area as in bars and restaurants, its nice for a walk out in the evening but again after a few nights you'd seen it all. The restaurants were ok, but again they all did very much of the same on the menu. Overall we had a great holiday and enjoyed it. Id stay again but I wouldn't do the my favourite club and id just be prepared to venture out for food.

My husband and our two friends stayed at the Alua Calas for a week. The sea view room was lovely, with fresh towels provided every day. The beds were supercomfy. I'd advise take a small extension lead , as not many sockets. My friend & I did the Aquarobics class , which was great fun. The Animation Team work really hard to keep you entertained, and we're great at encouraging participation. The food was really good & you can have an omelette made fresh with your chosen ingredients at breakfast. Complimentary wine is offered at evening meal (I drink Red and it was fine). The snack bar opens within half an hour of the diningroom closing, so you can't go hungry. Karen in the Reception Bar is from Preston, and serves you cocktails as you're checking in, she's delightful and very friendly. The Bloody Mary's are great & we had the Cocktail of the day each time, which was equally good .The only down~side is that there's very little outside the Hotel, if you like a wander. Also, the steps to the beach have no handrail & are treacherous. Just an addition of handrails at the steps leading down to the Hotel pool would be very welcome, as we saw a few people slipping. All in all a lovely Hotel, great staff & I would recommend it.
