- HSM Calas Park

The hotel is located in Calas de Mallorca, a small resort in the south east part of the island. Nearby are many beautiful beaches, with spectacular views, as well as small and authentic fishing villages, supplementing the benefits of this relatively unknown area with tourists, but most popular choice for everyday and holiday. The hotel offers a spacious terrace with amazing sea views. Welcoming public areas, salon games. The complex offers the facilities focused on children.
Don't miss out on recreational opportunities including an outdoor pool and bicycles to rent. Additional amenities at this property include complimentary wireless Internet access, tour/ticket assistance and a vending machine.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Just back from an excellent family holiday. Great location, nice food and some of the best staff I've encountered, Alex and Tommy in entertainment were great, Ivan and Garoe behind the bar teaching the kids some Spanish phases. The reception and restaurant team were great, couple of chefs on the grill at all times. Well worth a visit
Will try to be fair and balanced in my review. We booked as a very last minute trip for 5 nights as a family of 4.
Positives: Room size is good, rooms are modern and clean and cleaners came in daily. The hotel has many beautiful views out to sea in a lovely location. There are lots of local amenities and a pretty beach nearby.
Negatives: Pool gets very busy, we had to put towels down in the morning to get a sunbed. Everyone is doing this despite signs saying not to. On the day we arrived it was an afternoon and we couldn’t find a sunbed but there were lots of empty ones with towels on. Food is very average. It is bland and basic. You’ll find something to eat but it is very repetitive and I was dubious about what to eat particularly in regards to meat and fish after my 5 year old became ill. He was really poorly, vomiting for 12 hours and unable to keep anything down. I can only put this down to the food and after this I felt very cautious about what we ate. We went to reception to make them aware and they were polite but dismissed our concerns saying kids can become ill and it’s difficult to know if it is the food. I know other guests also got ill at the same time from chatting around the pool.
Overall despite the sickness we did enjoy our stay and would come back to Majorca but we wouldn’t stay here!
We spent a total of 9 days at HSM Calas Park as a group of seven: 4 adults and 3 children under the age of 12. From the very beginning, I kept thinking about what negative thing I could possibly say about this hotel, but honestly, it is very difficult to find anything. For us, the hotel was simply perfect in every way.
Calas Park truly has a very warm and family-friendly atmosphere, and in our opinion, it is an ideal choice for families. On top of that, the staff themselves feel like one big family, which adds so much to the overall holiday experience.
👥 The staff
I would like to start with the most important part: the staff.
They are the people who truly bring the hotel to life and who put their heart and soul into making sure their guests have a wonderful time. They are incredibly kind, helpful and always willing to find a solution.
At reception, Angelica and David were always ready to help with any question or request we had, offering solutions immediately and always with incredible kindness and patience. Whether it was arranging activities, asking for information or making a special request, we could always count on them.
At the bar, Marta, Ivan and Garoe were simply fantastic. We honestly couldn't think of a drink we could ask for that they wouldn't make for us – always with a big smile and incredible kindness. We also want to thank them for the Spanish lessons, because now we know how to order a beer in Spanish anywhere in the world. 😄🍻
The animation team keeps the guests entertained throughout the entire day, whether they are children or adults. They do it with an incredible amount of energy, dedication and, of course, a constant smile.
A special thank you to the ladies for spending so much time with our children! And Tommy and Alex, a huge thank you to both of you for making these 9 days so unforgettable for us! ❤️
Tommy, this message is especially for you: we will definitely be coming back, and next time you won't get away dry – we'll catch you and you'll be going for a swim! 😂🏊♂️
🛏️ The rooms
We stayed in two-room apartments, which were extremely clean and well maintained. The rooms were cleaned every day, and the towels were also changed daily whenever we requested it. We asked for a sea-view room, and the view was simply amazing. It was worth choosing this room type just for the view alone.
🌊 Location
The hotel's location is excellent. It is right next to the sea, and there is a beautiful view of the water even from the pool area.
Cala Domingos beach is only about a 5-minute walk from the hotel, and honestly, it is difficult to imagine a more beautiful beach. Fine sandy shores, slowly deepening turquoise-blue water and small caves at the edges of the bay, which are also great for snorkelling. If you want to arrange a boat trip, it is also incredibly convenient: the boat actually stops at this beach, just about a 5-minute walk from the hotel. From here, you can also take a boat to places such as Sa Coma.
🪜 The stairs – something mentioned in several reviews
We had read in several previous reviews that there are quite a lot of stairs throughout the hotel. This is indeed true, as the hotel is built on a hillside rather than on completely flat ground.
For us, this was absolutely not a problem. You are not climbing Mount Everest – you simply have to walk up a few flights of stairs to get from the pool area to the rooms. We certainly wouldn't consider this a negative; it is simply part of the hotel's layout. Of course, this could be more challenging for guests with limited mobility or for elderly guests, so it is worth taking into consideration when booking.
🍽️ Food & drinks
The food was more than satisfactory for us. Both the quantity and the quality were excellent, and there was plenty of choice. From meat dishes and pasta to vegetables, side dishes and salads, there was something for everyone. We really couldn't complain about either the quality or the variety. The pool bar is another great plus: soft drinks, ice cream, slushies and, of course, cocktails are all available. And you can practically ask for whatever cocktail you fancy.
Overall
For us, HSM Calas Park was not simply a hotel – it was a place where we genuinely felt at home during those 9 days. The beautiful surroundings, the proximity to the sea, the clean and comfortable rooms and the great food are all important, but what truly makes this hotel special is the people who work there. The kindness, friendliness and attitude of the staff are something you don't experience very often. We arrived as seven guests and left feeling as though we were saying goodbye to a big family.
We wholeheartedly recommend HSM Calas Park, especially to families. We will definitely be coming back! ❤️🇪🇸
Thank you to the entire team for making these 9 days so unforgettable!
Honest review. We arrived quite late, checked in which was quite quick. We asked if there was anything to eat or drink and were quite abruptly told no but there’s a vending machine, not a great start when all we wanted was some water and a snack as our children were hungry.
Breakfast choice ok, usual cereals, bread, omelette, sausage, bacon etc.
Lunch, poor quality, was very repetitive and snack time was never freshly prepared it was leftovers from what hadn’t been eaten during the last service so advertising as snack is misleading. The salad was left out and was often brown, I watched the chef pick bits from the salad tray and leave the bits that looked ok behind. This was off putting.
Dinner again was repetitive and not very good quality, I get it that this is a 3star but the food was cheap and poor so wasn’t what we had expected based on past reviews we had read.
The pool areas was dangerous, stagnant water due to broken drainage around the pool meaning children and adults were slipping. It’s only a matter of time before someone really hurts themselves. We reported this but looks like it’s a continued issue.
The water was also cloudy, we found that this was due to an issue with an underground pipe which we were told had been repaired, but the day we were leaving the pool was closed, I suspect as a result of it not being clean.
Rooms great air on, spacious and clean.
While we were there our whole party of 7 got sick, they were all very poorly which put us off eating at the hotel for the rest of our stay, not ideal when you have paid to be all inclusive. We later found that there were a further 18 people poorly, we literally witnessed the poor cleaners in and out dragging sick covered bedding and disinfecting the rooms. The cleaners were fantastic. When we asked at reception about the illness, we were rudely told by a gentleman it was poor hygiene and to wash our hands! We took offence to this naturally! We later found, following speaking with the Dr, that there was a bug affecting calas de Mallorca and his view was that he believed the lack of a hygienic pool would only escalate the issue…. My opinion is that the pool caused this to spread as the water was often seen to be cloudy and you never saw anyone testing the water quality.
We took a chance on this hotel based on the reviews, the majority of families we spoke to were upset and unhappy with the hotel, this hasn’t yet been reflected in reviews, so I wanted to be honest so that if someone is looking to book this they can make an informed decision as the reviews here certainly don’t reflect the quality of the hotel.
Also the carrying of cups is an absolute joke, and in my opinion not hygienic… people are reusing a used cup to refill their own drinks via the self serve, especially when there’s an illness circulating, which we witnessed first hand.
Drop off is not outside the hotel neither is the pick up. Jet2 need to reconsider working with this hotel
We had such a lovely family holiday at Calas Park! Perfect hotel friendly staff, clean rooms, great food, and unbeatable location just a short walk from the beach.
This was our second visit, and it was so nice that some of the team recognised us and the kids from last year we felt instantly welcome!
The bar staff are so friendly and work incredibly hard ! Ivan was part of the animation team last year and is now on the bar it was lovely catching up and reminiscing about all our favourite stories from last year with him.
Big thanks to Nadya and the animation team, they’re brilliant and kept everyone entertained.
A special shout out to Alex I’ll really miss the rifle shooting lessons! Alex absolutely made our holiday this year, so friendly and great to be around. We’ll definitely be back!
