This attractive aparthotel is situated in the heart of Cala d'Or in a quiet side street, yet just steps away from the pedestrian area of the city centre with its numerous shops and the beach of Cala Gran. The famous marina with its large variety of restaurants, bars and cafés can be reached within a short stroll. The island capital of Palma and the international airport are about an hours' drive away.
Just back from a 6 night stay here on all inclusive with another family. We were sure what to expect after reading very mixed reviews but this is what we found….
Rooms Cleaning is amazing! The rooms are cleaned every day and there isn’t a spec or dirt anywhere. Best I have known.
We had a one bedroom apartment for 2 adults and 2 older teens. The apartment was basic, and whatever way you looked it you could see the flat roof of the restaurant and the wall of the hotel next door - this was not unexpected for three star. However the family we travelled with had an appointment twice the size! And a view of the rooftops. We booked within two minutes of each other and as our children were older we actually paid more and more local tourist tax. I went to the reception twice to ask if we could swap to a bigger room but was told that the rooms are all exactly the same size. This is definitely not the case!
The food Breakfast is the best meal of the day. Plenty for everyone. Lunch was ok - just made a cheese sandwich. Dinner wasn’t great. We ended up eating out 3 times. Twice planned then again on the last night when we couldn’t enter close to the restaurant or the bar due to an overwhelming smell of fish! That made everyone feel sick.
We developed a love/ hate relationship with the sour for the cup or plate. On one hand it was genius - no empty cups or dirty plates anywhere. So no insects or birds around the pool. On the other had in the evening if we had been do a walk out it’s a pain looking for a sour for a glass.
We don’t think the drinks were watered down as some have said and the self - service for pop or beer was good.
Location The location is fantastic. Right in the middle of town and close to lots of shops and places to eat out.
The beach is nice and really like the hotel had a box of umbrellas you can take a return. The beach gets really busy in the day.
The pool
No balls or inflatables allowed. Can understand the inflatables as it would make it difficult for the lifeguard to see what’s happening.
The 10am to 6pm stopped any sun bed wars. People did queue up from 9am for a choice of bed. Sadly there is no more room around the pool for more beds. The could do with more umbrellas and I would suggest they fix or replace the broken beds for next season.
Entertainment
Simply fantastic. The animation team through the day were amazing. We all enjoyed the volley ball, water polo, darts. They always make sure you knew what was happening but weren’t pushy. The evening entertainment was good too - got very busy towards the end of the week and some struggled for a table.
Dreadful, don’t waste your money, I gave it 2 stars as its location is great, but otherwise, rooms dated, pool area tired, entertainment amateur (but they do work hard), and the food is so bad we ate out every night, which meant I spent a fortune, and I could have paid for a 5* hotel. Would never go back.
We booked with jet 2 for 3 adults 2 children with 2 different rooms. The 2 rooms we booked were nothing like the pictures however one was alot more updated and modern than the other. The rooms were clean however the bed sheets didn’t get changed for the whole duration of our stay and there was bits of mould in the bathroom. The rooms are so noisy and we struggled to sleep most nights , you can hear everything from neighbouring rooms. The food is not great at all. There is not much options apart from pork and fish and the buffet is not big enough for all the guests that are staying in the hotel. The food is never hot and one of us was projectile vomiting one night. The breakfast is ok. The snack bar is ridiculous , it’s a wooden cart at the pool bar area that is filthy with rubbish , and chips all on the floor around it. The food is barely covered up and does not look appetising at all Do not be fooled by the pictures of the pools , there is one main pool area, the rest are small pools with about 10 sunbeds around them and also don’t have a bar. The main pool area however is ok but needs some music or something to liven it up. There is not enough sunbeds for the amount of people in the hotel , so there are people queuing from around 930 which means if you don’t queue you have no chance of getting a sunbed. A lot of the sunbeds are broke and the floor area is very dirty. The whole hotel needs a renovation and is very dated. Overall , I wouldn’t stay here again however the location is great.
Very spacious rooms and a wide range of pools to choose from each day. If you walk down the path you are at the land train that travels on path and is handy to get around. Atmosphere is very good: live entertainment every night but annoyingly loud. Cleanliness of rooms and pool surroundings cannot be fainted. The staff are friendly enough and overall it is ideal for families with younger children or for teens on a lads or girls holiday!
Arrived at 4.30am to a very unhelpful gentleman on reception. Made check in very confusing and we felt very unwelcome. Room was tired but okay. Beds were comfortable and room was cleaned every day. Air con was lovely to come back to after a hot day. Fantastic location. Beach a few minutes walk. We used the smaller pool near our room. Never busy and plenty of sunbeds. The thing that let the hotel down mainly was the food. Very limited choice and some things off the grill were raw!!! Very disappointing. For this reason we wouldn't return again.
