An amazing adult-only all-inclusive hotel in the most magical coastline. The buffet food was phenomenal. All the staff were attentive. Our room was spotlessly clean.
Just arrived back from this hotel it's the worst hotel we've stayed in.Firstly the positive food was ok and the setting was picturesque. The staff were pleasant and evening entertainment was ok.However the rooms are only supplied with Saltwater for the taps and shower ,so you never feel clean and not great for your skin and hair and teeth. Our bathroom was so poorly lit to use it also had a leaking shower and mould on the shower and ceiling, areas in the bathroom were rusty, the rooms were cleaned and towels changed daily however I noticed sometimes the towels had dirty marks on them. The beach situated between both sides of this adult only hotel was open to the public and everyday filled with families and excited screaming children.(not adult only experience nothing against children). Not enough sun beds at the hotel for the number of guests you had to be up for the towel wars it's not monitored. Not great value for money and definitely not a 4 star.I would give it a 2.
Beautiful place, loved the holiday, overall positive experience, would return in the future. Good staff and hospitality.
Incredible location in Cala D'or. Beautiful small bay with shallow water, safe swimming and never overly busy. Definetly worth booking with the 'my favorite club' areas included. Private bar and pool area, own breakfast restaurant with freshly cooked breakfasts from avocado and poached eggs on toast to omelette and the usual yoghurt, cereal etc. Again this area is directly over the bay looking across to some beautiful private villas. The entertainment on Saturday night in the club bar was amazing, singing some great songs and getting people up and dancing, it filled the bar area, Ongx Mona was amazing and needs booking again and again.
Location is approximately 35/40min walk from centre of Cala D’or, there is also a bus stop + taxi rank a short 2 minute walk from hotel which provides cheap transport into the centre. Taxi costs approximately €6-€8 each way. There is a good amount of shops / bars / restaurants close by to hotel in Cala Egos also if you don’t want to venture into Cala D’or.
Check in was quick and efficient and bags were tagged and taken to room for us. Could have received a warmer welcome, the welcome drink wasn’t very nice either (cheap Cava). Please note this hotel is essentially split into two separate blocks, with the public beach + pool area in the middle. Room was very clean, good air con and rooms were serviced to a high standard every day.
Unfortunately that’s all the positive points I can make about the hotel.
Breakfast was poor and resembled more of a cattle market than a buffet breakfast. Very hectic between 8-10am and was a bit of a free for all. Food wasn’t great, especially the cooked breakfast. Poor quality meat + presentation and I didn’t find the staff very welcoming or inviting. Utensils used to lift breakfast items were dripping in grease which is disgusting. We only had breakfast 3 times in the hotel out of 7 days before we gave up and went out for breakfast instead at a local venue.
Biggest disappointment was the pool and sun-lounger situation. Now I understand when we arrived, the hotel was at max capacity however, sun beds were mostly gone by 8:45am with towels down on them. No enforcement by the hotel and some towels remained down until early afternoon before people appeared on them. Pool size / area is an absolute joke when compared to the size and capacity of this hotel. There are 371 rooms in this hotel - so approximately 700 guests. The pools in this hotel are at most fit for half of that amount. You can see the hotel have tried to cram as many sun-loungers as possible into the main pool area to combat this, but unfortunately this makes in very uncomfortable as everyone is so close together. I went to the toilets located beside the main pool at around 11am and they were disgusting. Floor had all sorts of mess on them, bins overflowing with paper towels and just generally dirty which is poor..
The ‘My Favourite Club’ option potentially alleviates the pool / sun lounger issue however it stinks slightly having to pay an extra €25 per person per day to have a better chance of getting a sun lounger by a separate stand alone pool.
The beach in the middle of the hotel is nice, however it’s open to the public. This means screaming kids are present at this adult’s only hotel. Sun loungers are available at this small beach at an extra cost, however most people just bring a towel and lay on the sand. Beach is also very dirty with rubbish seen laying about and poking up through the sand.
We didn’t try any of the restaurants on site as we were disappointed by the quality of breakfast so this put us off, so can’t comment on that. You do get 3 restaurants reservations included with a 7 night stay.
Overall, not impressed with hotel, certainly wouldn’t recommend and definitely will not be back. Definitely better options which you will find on a quick google search which are much closer to Cala D’Or.
