The attractive holiday hotel Atolon boasts a superb seafront position with direct sea access and marvellous panoramic views over the shimmering waters of the Mediterranean Sea, right at the Cala Bona seaside promenade. It is located close to the fishing harbour, enabling guests to enjoy fresh and delicious fish dishes in the local restaurants. A wide range of shops, restaurants, bars and cafés can be found in the surrounding area; the popular holiday resort of Cala Millor is within easy reach. The most outstanding feature of the hotel is its wonderful seaside terrace with an outdoor pool and a separate children's pool, surrounded by sun loungers and with marvellous sea views. Culinary options include a restaurant and two bars, one of them situated on the terrace. This hotel is a perfect place for couples and families with children wishing to spend a holiday under the Mediterranean sun.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Upon arriving at night in the hotel, I was sent to a building over the road, and my room was round the back of that. The room was tiny. The fridge they promise you is a mini bar, so not even room for standard bottles of water. However, the worst thing was the view from my patio doors. It was like a prison exercise yard! High, dirty walls with a view of a stained wall hotel, a lot of ventilation pipes and a couple very old, ugly satellite dishes on the shop roof opposite! It was awful, and as a couple, we would not enjoy returning to that room daily to relax on the patio. I politely asked for a move the next morning. The hotel had a better room with a lovely view but I was told I could only move there if I paid an extra 175 euros, even though the room was empty and would be for the rest of the week!! Why keep the customers happy when you can make more profit instead? It wouldn't have cost them anything to simply move us. The new room was lovely, and the hotel pool and breakfast were superb. The beach club was a waste of time. We sat for 20 minutes being ignored by every waiter before walking out on our first evening. They also advertise the facilities to get showered on your lady day, but beware.. They don't tell you that you need to book this. But if you don't, you won't be getting showered before you go home.
The food is a massive highlight! We ate well each morning, and the evening food was fabulous.
The views and general scenery around the pool is great, staff are friendly and there are plenty of shops, restaurants and beaches in the area.
The room is clean, but nothing spectacular about it. Just a plain, comfortable room.
Me and my family had a lovely holiday at hotel Atolon it was our second time staying there the food is lovely even my fussy 12 yr old granddaughter found something to eat the rooms are lovely and kept very clean all the staff are fantastic and go out off there way to help you and the view from the pool is breathtaking and cannot be beaten me and my family booked to return next year before we had even returned home thankyou hotel Atolon for an amazing holiday
We have just finished 4 days at the Hotel Atalon. Location is great, in between Cala Millor and Cala Bona Harbour. The check in was really welcoming and easy, restaurant and bar staff are also really lovely and welcoming.
The pool area is fantastic, really relaxed and chilled atmosphere. Felt quite spa like around the pool and this was a huge plus for us.
Our room was a good size and very clean. The only negatives I would say about the rooms is that there is not much storage. We were two women travelling and if we had stayed longer than 4 days we would have struggled. Another negative is the Air conditioning isn’t the best.
Breakfast had a great choice but we found dinner not very good at all and ate out each evening.
The reception area is really relaxing and is a nice area to sit.
They have the beach club next door, which serves lovely food. It can feel a bit pricey, but is worth a sit down for a lunch or dinner on one of your days of holiday.
We would definitely stay again for a weekend or a week, not sure if we would stay for a longer holiday, only because of room storage, air con and food.
I would definitely recommend this hotel as it is great value.
Great holiday, very good hotel, would recommend.
Location: Cala Bona on the beach front, easy walk to Cala Mellor, lots of restaurants, bars and shops close by. Atmosphere: Laid back, no loud music, very relaxing. Kaafu Beach club next door has a DJ at night but the vibe is chilled out and relaxed. Rooms: Very clean, good walk in shower, dove toiletries, safe, kettle etc but no tea/coffee etc so take your own or buy locally. Air con is in the room but it wasn't effective enough for the heat and could not be adjusted to go any colder, reception did check this out for us and to counter the heat placed a fan in the room for the duration of the holiday. The hotel is in two blocks, one in the main reception area and three more floors across the road, we were in the block over the room on floor 5 with a side sea view and it was a really lovely view. Value: Great value for money. Cleanliness: Excellent both in the public areas, restaurant and rooms, the staff work extremely hard, towels and bed linen changed as expected. Service: Excellent service by all staff, chefs, waiting staff, reception, domestic and lifeguard. Amenities: 1 large pool and one smaller pool, direct access to the sea (it is rocky though so take appropriate sea shoes), paddle boards can be hired from reception 10 euros for one hour. Food: Excellent, both breakfast and dinner I could not fault and I am a fussy eater. Eggs, pancakes, omelettes cooked to order in the morning as well as every breakfast item you can think of is on the hot plate, fresh fruit and yogurts also available. Fish or meat and a vegetarian dish cooked to order at night although if you don't want to wait food is also available on the hot plate. If I had one criticism of this hotel it would be that service for drinks at night in Kaafu Beach Club can be very slow but this depends on the number of people coming in (it is open to the public) and not enough staff. Overall a wonderful holiday, thank you to all the staff and we can't wait to return.
