VIK Hotel San Antonio benefits from an excellent beachfront location on Playa de los Pocillos in Lanzarote and has two swimming pools set in lush gardens and sheltered by impressive palm trees. With a bus and taxi stop right outside the hotel, the local bars, restaurants and shops are all within easy reach.
We just recently spent a week on holiday at the VIK San Antonio resort. The hotel itself is a nice hotel, the rooms are spacious and the housekeeping service is excellent, in fact probably the best and most efficient I’ve experienced in a hotel for a long time. The beds were always made well and the bathroom cleaned nicely with fresh towels every day. The reception staff were always helpful, and answered all questions well. They were always friendly and helpful with excellent service, for example if you needed to order a taxi they would do it for you on a online system and it would usually be no more than 5-10 minutes before it arrived to pick you up. They offer a pool towel hire service at $10 deposit per towel which you get back at the end of your stay if you present the ticket given to you when you take the deposit out. Nothing was to much trouble for them. The restaurant had an excellent choice of breakfast, lunch and dinner food, with the staff extremely nice and friendly. We were all inclusive and glad we chose this option of board. A wide selection of food, something for everyone. I would rate the food a 7/10 in my opinion, everything was nice and fresh but the only downside I would say personally is I found a lot of the meat quite tasteless and chewy. A wide selection of soft drinks, spirits and beer. Cocktails were not included, only the cocktail of the day. If you wanted any other cocktail, you had to pay for it, which I found a bit strange for an ‘all inclusive’. Ice creams outside at the pool bar were also not included and had to be purchased. All areas of the hotel including toilets, pool areas, restaurant and bedrooms very clean and tidy. Now for the major downfall of this hotel, in my opinion. We visited as a group of three, one of us 19 and two of us in our early twenties. I am pleased we stayed close to the strip, because the entertainment at this hotel is absolutely dire. They had a different ‘act’ on every night. In my opinion, the entertainment was awful. One night they had a singer that didn’t even know half the words to the songs he was ‘singing’. Considering this hotel claim to be for all ages, the entertainment was heavily catered to the over 60’-70’s in my opinion. Most the evening entertainment was definitely for the older person. We were very disappointed with this. The quality of it was also not good. The hotel could benefit from doing some interactive nights, like karaoke, a bingo etc with small prizes, it was all just sit and watch quietly. Absolutely no entertainment for the children at all. This obviously did not bother us as we had no kids with us, but an observation I soon picked up on. The had a children’s club and pool, I cannot comment on these facilities as we didn’t use them but useful for people to know. The daytime entertainment was 1 or 2x a day water aerobics at the pool, and I saw one of the girls play bowels with a few elderly gentlemen one day. That was it. There didn’t seem to be anything else going on, anywhere. Such a shame, because with a bit more liveliness and enthusiasm, this hotel could be great. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. But we probably wouldn’t return for these reasons.
Great location for every thing, hotel has been here a long time and can do with a refresh update in some areas. Staff we met have all been excellent and helpful. We are still in the hotel room 4716, which has great views of the pool and beach.
We were made to feel really welcome from the moment we stepped through the door, everywhere is so clean, the staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful, the rooms were great as were the facilities. The food was incredible with many choices and different each meal. We went all inclusive so had drinks and snacks available throughout the day, everything you could want on site so no need to leave the hotel.
1st the good. Lovely foyer and friendly greeting from staff good location Very clean, All staff friendly and hard working.fresh bottle of water left everyday along with teabags coffee Sugar and milk. Pools fab and kept very clean plenty of sun beds. The not so good Food good quality but not hot very busy unless you get to resturant early Cocktails not free on all inc only the one of the hotels choice as they do a daily cocktail from 17.30 which is free but any other is chargable.pina colada very watery. Asked for an ice coffee from pool bar hot coffee was made with ice cube added On our last day all inc stops at mid day.except for lunch with 1 drink Think it would be nice even if water could continue until departure.
this was about our tenth visit to this hotel, that probably says it all! :) it never ever disappoints, we always book a suite room 1326 or 2326,,,fabulous views and more space but on peeking into a standard room next door it looked great. why do people whinge about minor things in this vintage hotel, over 50 years old, it is going to have a slightly dated feel, speaking as a defo over 50 year old woman, indeed so do i! service fab on all counts from reception to cleaning ladies, restaurant and bar staff, they are so grateful for a tip or two and as they work their spanish socks off relentlessly we were more than happy to thank them daily with a few euros! Every night our dinner table was ready with a bottle of house rose on ice, the food is plentiful and varied for brekky, lunch and dinner! my tip re pool bar, get there at 12 as the tables fill up very quickly, there is a lovely menu for al fresco lunching but be mindful this has to be ordered between 12 & 1, after that lunch is in the dining room between 1 & 3, having become dab hands at this, two cold beers were always followed by ordering our food at 10 to 1, with yet another bottle of chilled rose to wash it down with, so THANK YOU SAN VIK ANTONIO! Am currently hoping for 2 visits in 2027, june & september . and finally it was fab to see the waterfall coming from the upper pool working again! with love from Carolyn & Duncan...a mid 60's couple who still have a bit of life in them!!
