The Seaside Los Jameos Playa boosts some excellent facilities including two spectacular freshwater outdoor pools incorporated within the landscaped palm-garden; ensuring you unwind and relax in the Canarian sun.
The comfortable rooms are fully furnished with satellite TV, large bathroom with bath, fridge/mini bar, hairdryer, telephone and balcony or terrace.
A true oasis of tranquility can be found at the spa and wellness centre where guests can enjoy the bio sauna, steam bath and outdoor Finnish sauna free of charge. An extensive range of face and body treatments are also available including scrubs, cream baths and massages. Once you've finished being pampered why not relax in the indoor or outdoor relaxation areas or refresh in the experience shower and plunge pool.
An extremely varied entertainment programme is on offer at the Seaside Los Jameos Playa including golf, live music and acts and a free introductory 'sniff-dive' in the hotel's pool from the certified diving instructor who visits once a week. If you decide to venture further out then the resort of Puerto del Carmen is host to an array of appetizing restaurants, exciting shops and quirky bars. As well as providing a haven for relaxing on the long sandy stretch of beach it also hosts an array of watersports and amenities including a theme park and the biggest zoo in Lanzarote.
Superbly situated just 20 metres from Playa del Carmen's golden beach this contemporary hotel reflects the Canarian beauty of Lanzarote with its atrium style lobby and landscaped palm-garden. The two large attractive pools, bio sauna, tennis courts and entertainment program are just a few of the amenities to enjoy.
This was our sixth stay at Los Jameos. Five prior to the refurb, and this one to 'try it out' afterwards. The refurb itself is an improvement on what was a dated set up - particularly around the dining aspect. (which is the primary reason we latched onto Los Jameos at the start). There appears even more choice of foods than previous - which was already impressive. The quality has always been 5 star. Though If i had a complaint, it would be the temperature of some of the dishes; particularly the 'sides', which were not as hot as they should have been. Obviously, this is a balancing act with buffet style meals, but i do not ever recall it being an issue prior to the refurb. Otherwise, the new set up is great. We had revamped superior room with a massive, very comfortable bed, and walk-in shower. While the new 'rain-shower' aspect was good, the wall fixing for the regular hose shower attachment was only waist height. Which was crazy if you wanted to shower everything but your hair (the mrs!) This aside, the room was very smart, and kept spotless. A niggle here would be the aircon, which worked - sort of. Im guessing its the original kit behind the grille running it, which does appear past its best unfortunately. The staff, to a man (or woman) were faultless throughout the hotel. Which itself was always kept spotless wherever you looked. Apart from the dining area, theres a new funky'milk-bar' set up for drinks and snacks. We didnt really bother with this, but i can see it being popular with older kids/teens to chill out. Theres also a new pool/slides for kids in the corner out of the way of the main pools. It was noticeable that there appeared more young families than i recall on previous visits. So maybe this is a result of the new image? As a final tip, would say to anyone on a diet; book somewhere else. As i can guarantee any disciplined resolve will collapse, and you will end the week heavier than you started!
We recently stayed at this hotel for the first time since the refurbishment. There were a few changes, but mainly to the children's areas. The restaurant remains the same, with hot food outside and cold foods inside, although there have been some changes to the layout and decor. The food in our opinion, is very good, perhaps better than before and the service was very good. The drinks menu in the piano bar is improved and the service there is excellent. Our only issue was a terrible smell in our room, which happened on a couple of occasions in the evening. We did report this and hope it gets resolved. All in all, a very good hotel, with very good, hard working, pleasant staff. We would definitely return
This was our second visit to this hotel. The first was last year, before the upgrades. We were a party of 9, with a baby and 3 year old. We had such a fantastic time and 100% will be returning. Positives: The new kids pool and area is great and plenty of sun beds and parasols. The restaurant: Amazing food, high quality and lots of choice. Probably the best hotel food we have ever had, even compared to the food on cruise ships. The grounds are beautiful and full of vegetation. This allows you to really relax and soak up the ambiance. Rooms are nice and modern and clean. Plenty of room. Location is great. Walk out the back, there are bars and restaurants and shops, as well as a car free walk for miles. Out the front are two bus stops and taxi’s. Staff are lovely and very helpful. Animation team: Excellent! During the day there were lots of activities and the evening had a brilliant kiddies disco, which my granddaughters absolutely loved! Special mention to Imara! She just brings everything she does alive! Some animation staff, just go through the motions, but she had so much passion and fun in everything she did. She is a big asset to this hotel! The bar man in the Piano bar. Made incredible drinks and was very quick and friendly. Needed improvement: During the day, only the pool bar is open for all drink types. The Milk lab does beer and Prosecco, but if you want a cocktail or gin, you had to go to the pool bar. This meant (when we were there, it might have improved since) large lines of people. Now, one thing to bear in mind, the bar staff make proper cocktails and drink preps. Unlike other hotels I have been to, where cocktails are pre made in plastic bottles. This is going to take time to make. However, I feel the hotel needs to monitor when the lines start growing and send extra staff when needed, or equip the Milk lab with more drink options. Aircon: difficult to work and didn’t work on a couple of occasions. The staff acted on this straight away, which was good. Overall, everyone in our group had such a wonderful time and we will 100% be coming back!

The hotel has a fantastic location, beautiful grounds, excellent pool facilities and a helpful reception team. However, the disappointing restaurant atmosphere, limited vegetarian and vegan food options, additional charges for soft drinks at breakfast and the condition of our room detracted from the overall experience. With better attention to room maintenance and customer service in the main restaurant, the hotel could offer a much better experience for its guests. This was our second time staying here and I don’t think there will be a third.
The hotel is beautiful and the staff are very friendly however, the entertainment is pretty dire. Schedules are given but change the next day and even misinformation given within hours of the show starting. For me that aspect is important, I understand that hotel entertainment can be hit and miss and not to everyone’s taste but correct information would allow for alternative choices of local venues for evening entertainment.
