We also have some amazing evenings in store for adults, with live music shows and daily entertainment. Our more active guests can train in a fully equipped gym or enjoy fitness activities in RiuFit. After your exercise session, you can pamper yourself and recharge your batteries in the Wellness Body Love centre, where we offer a wide range of body treatments and massages. Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
This was our second visit to the Riu Paraiso, and after loving it so much the first time, we just had to come back! We’ve had another fabulous holiday and wouldn’t be surprised if we visit for a third time.
The hotel is clean, spacious and well maintained, with plenty of room around the pools and communal areas. The food was good overall, although it could be a little repetitive at times. That said, there was always plenty of choice and you could easily find something different to eat.
The staff were all pleasant, friendly and helpful, but a special mention has to go to Alicia, who looked after our table most days and was absolutely lovely.
The location is fantastic — directly opposite a beautiful sandy beach and within walking distance of both Puerto del Carmen and Los Pocillos, so there’s plenty to explore if you fancy getting out and about.
The pools were quite cold, but this was actually very welcome, especially on the hotter days! We didn’t see much of the evening entertainment, but the daytime animation team were something else — full of energy and really entertaining!
Our only real criticism would be the lack of air conditioning in the reception area. On particularly hot days, it was incredibly uncomfortable when sitting or waiting there, and we feel this is something the hotel could really improve. It would also be beneficial to have some toilets available on the reception level, particularly as many of the guests are older and may find having to go downstairs inconvenient.
Overall, we’ve had another fantastic stay and would happily return. It really does feel like a place we could keep coming back to! ❤️
First time holidaying in th EU for some time. This hotel did not disappoint:- Hotel 15 mins from Airport. Taxi under 15 euros. Hotel check in very quick . Very helpful staff. Location is opposite a vast stretch of beach . A rear security gate at rear of hotel gives access to that and if you walk left or rifgt there are peanty of shops bars and resurants to enjoy. Should you wish . Recommend Volcano golf and ten pin 10 mins walk to the right. Cleanliness. The entire hotel is spotless set within vast grounds which are well kept. Good sized rooms very comfortable beds. Great shower. Cream and body wash in the shower is good. The shower worked well and always had hot water. Shame there is no daily fridge water and soft drink fridge top up. Water in bottles is supplied from the lobby bar. Otherwise bars at quiet pool and the main pool all have self service coffee , wine , beer and soft drinks. Pluss bar service. Bar staff are great would be lovely to have a pool service though. The food at all meal times is hot, plentiful , varied and very tasty. Which goes for the 2 special restaurants also. Poolside is great fun . The animation team will keep you busy all day with a variety of games if you so wish they are hilarious. They also provide some of the night entertainment. All in all the facilities and the hardworking staff make this a great hotel and we are looking forward to re booking another stay next year.
it is to early to tell completely - but we have been allocated x2 rooms in the far flung reaches of the hotel with a flat roof view - even though I booked very early doors through Tui - not the best I have ever stayed in and first time in Riu quite possibly the last - i have a disability and have to walk miles to all the main bits of hotel - if booking make sire you are not in rooms starting with 2. I will review again after the holiday.
Ok. The hotel was spotless and the staff were all lovely. There were loads of sun loungers and lots of shades so no fighting for space. The bedrooms were lovely too. The downsides of this hotel were the food, drink and entertainment. The speciality restaurants were just different buffets and the main buffet was pretty similar day in and day out. There were no themed nights so it was all samey. The food itself in the buffet was pretty underwhelming. The main thing we enjoy on holidays are cocktails and this hotel was so bad for them. The cocktails came out of a machine and were terrible. The glassware was also tiny so even if you got a beer it was in a tiny glass. We went for a week and that was long enough. FYI no beer mats or straws which is good for the environment but does get you covered in drips.
Good: . Food selection and quality / taste = Excellent . Swimming pools = very nice . Lots of sun loungers around the pools with no issues getting them. . Shower quality and shower temperature in room = Excellent
Bad: Pretty much everything else: Flat, poor quality drinks, room dated and very basic with TV not working, not enough seating room in the stage areas, speakers not working on 1 side of the main stage area resulting in poor quality sound, mostly poor quality entertainment, seating too formal in the main stage area, 0 fun atmosphere at evening entertainment, room not cleaned when requested, fridge / tea / coffee / bottled water in room not re-stocked, a cockroach infestation (see attached), staff mostly not friendly, foul smell in parts of the resort, nearly everything self-service, not even milk served with coffee at breakfast and only water offered by waiting staff at evening meal. The place is massive so expect to potentially be walking a lot. Other guests complained about the heat inside parts of the resort. The first couple of nights I was absolutely freezing with only a thin sheet over me on the bed to hand. I asked reception and eventually found a thin blanket that helped.
The place seems to have a kind of cult fan base who return year after year. I don't understand why given my experience. I posted about the cockroach situation in a Facebook group about the hotel to raise awareness while hoping for some support or reassurance but mainly just got fun poked at me / nasty personal insults fired at me before my post was taken down.
