This superb beach apartment complex enjoys a quiet location in the centre of Playa de los Picollos. The complex is situated a mere 300 metres from the stunning sandy beach and its lively promenade. The town centre, with its array of shopping and entertainment venues is just a few minutes' walk away, and there is a bus stop just 200 metres from the complex. The complex enjoys a quintessential island style with a low-rise building and a charming architectural design. The stunning apartments feature soothing neutral and pastel colours and wooden furnishings, offering a relaxing home away from home. Guests will appreciate the complex's selection of leisure and recreational facilities which provide an enjoyable experience for all the family. Guests can dine in style in the restaurant, where delectable culinary delights are the order of the day. All Family Rooms are located at a separate building from the main hotel building and they offer ceiling fan instead of air conditioning.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
The location of the hotel is at the end of strip but within walking distant to all amenities. We were there at 11am so did not expect to check in straight away, was able to leave cases in luggage area, given band and was able to use facilities until room was ready, went to main pool, bar and dining area and was clean and bar drinks ok, we had lunch food seemed ok, but we did eat out more as the holiday progressed as very repetitive. Breakfast was good and snack at middle pool. We then were allocation our room and basically put in the land that time forgot. we down and across the road from the main hotel. Small pool but pleasant and seemed warmer than the middle pool, we never actually stayed a day at the main pool, due to having to walk with everything across and back up the road. the 2nd pool does have a self service bar and bar service so you can drink all the drinks and snacks on inclusive. Unfortunately in the area we were, you had pumps for soft drinks, beer and wine and tap but I don't think the pumps have been cleaning for a while as didn't taste nice, if you wanted a spirit you had to walk up the stairs and over the road. We ended up buying vodka at shop and just getting soft drinks all day, no snacks here either. the rooms were dated but did the job, no air con in this area either, but ceiling fan in bedroom and floor fan supplied for main living area. Housekeeper didn't work on Wednesday's which was fine, but they didn't bother to clean the day before we left and had to request toilet roll on 2 occasions. All in all it was a pleasant stay but would have preferred to stay in main hotel to rooms in same area.
The location of the hotel is fantastic – it's only around a 10-minute walk to the beach and the main strip, where you'll find plenty of shops, bars and restaurants.
The atmosphere at the hotel was a little too quiet for our liking, with the entertainment mainly aimed at French guests. We visited during the World Cup and watched the France vs Spain match at the hotel. Surprisingly, there was very little atmosphere, even from the French supporters, which summed up the overall vibe of our week. The England vs Argentina match wasn't shown on the big screen, so we headed out to watch it elsewhere. That's understandable, as hotels naturally cater to the majority of their guests.
We didn't get to enjoy much of the evening entertainment because the stage area was quite small and seats were taken well before the shows started.
The rooms are in desperate need of renovation. Calling them dated would be an understatement. Our room had no air conditioning, only a ceiling fan that was both broken and noisy, with one of the fan blades removed and left by the front door. Thankfully, opening the balcony door and windows at night created a nice breeze, so it was manageable. It would also have been nice to have tea and coffee-making facilities in the room.
The beds weren't particularly comfortable, and we were initially given just one oddly shaped, flat pillow. However, when we asked, the staff were quick to provide extra pillows, which was appreciated.
When we arrived, we had an ant problem in the room. Although we reported it to reception, nothing was done during our stay. In the end, I sprayed the area with my heat protection spray, which surprisingly solved the problem!
The pool area was lovely, and we never struggled to find sunbeds. The hotel charges a €10 deposit for pool towels, but you can buy a beach towel on the nearby strip for around €3, so that's worth knowing before you arrive.
The food was good, despite hearing some guests complain. We found there was plenty of choice, the food was well stocked, and there was always enough seating in the restaurant. The staff were friendly and efficient, clearing tables quickly.
The drinks were another positive. Cocktails were included in the all-inclusive package, and guests could help themselves to beer, wine and soft drinks, which was a nice touch. The alcoholic drinks were also surprisingly generous.
Overall, we had a very enjoyable five-night stay. The excellent location, good food, friendly staff and decent all-inclusive drinks made for a lovely holiday. However, the tired rooms and lack of lively entertainment mean there is definitely room for improvement. With some investment in the accommodation and evening entertainment, this hotel could be excellent.
The location was ideal. About 20 minutes walk into puerto del carmen. The hotel was lovely and clean. Food, i thought was ok, I travelled with family so we had 2 apartments. Could do with a bit updating, especially the aircon. Only had a ceiling fan in the bedroom. You can hire fans but we were not informed about that till 2 days before we left. The entertainment team are lovely and work really hard. All in all it was a lovely holiday.
very good staff and nice hari and samu
The pools were great, bar staff and cleaners were all brilliant the only problem was being totally ignored by the entertainment team we were sat at a table in the main bar and they started playing games all in French. Did nothing for the England game but couldn't do enough for when the French played they made us feel very un welcome because we were english ,met some lovely people but would never go back again
