Almost perfect! We have just returned from our second visit to Lava Beach and another amazing holiday. We were shown to our room which was lovely with a sea view but quickly realised it had a bath and not a walk in shower which would be no good for my wife who has spinal problems, our fault as we did not specify when booking. We were offered an alternative room which was a junior suite for an additional €20 euros per night which over looked the pool. Nice room with a separate bedroom but a smaller lounge. All the rooms we encountered were very clean and the cleaners, who always greet you with a friendly smile and “hello” do an amazing job every day. There is a good choice of food and drink at the pool bar and a nice relaxed vibe in the roof top bar in the evenings. The main restaurant offers a vast choice at both breakfast and dinner and the food is amazing. The waiting staff are friendly and attentive and special mention to Kamal, Moises and especially Joan who we always had a laugh with and is a real credit to the hotel. Reception are always friendly and again a special mention to Zofia, when we booked the more à la carte restaurant (Aroma) we mentioned it was our anniversary and then on the special day an ice bucket with a bottle of Cava was delivered to our room with a happy anniversary card, a really nice touch. The lounge bar is nice but the nightly entertainment is a bit hit and miss, you can usually tell when the better acts are in as the bar gets quite busy, other times just a handful of people. The pool area is very clean but the sun bed frames and cushions could do with a clean! Not terrible but compared to everything else perhaps a bit over looked. But these are minor things and certainly won’t stop us returning again next year. Another endorsement for this hotel is that we recognised lots of people from last year too so a lot of returnees which speaks volumes!
1st time at this hotel and WOW…. It’s beautiful and probably the cleanest I have been to. The housekeepers/cleaners are a credit to you. Bedroom & Balcony were immaculate. Pool area was spotless. Every area of the hotel was gleaming. Daily aqua aerobics was fun. Evening entertainment was ok - the Motown girls were fab and knew how to work a small crowd. Hired electric bikes from up the road and was able to lock them in the hotel cage overnight which was peace of mind. 15 mins from the airport so very easy transfers and not expensive if you needed to get a taxi. Food was lovely and very well prepared / presented. Only downside as we embarrassingly found out….. If you book half board and your flight arrives after the kitchen closes, you lose out on a meal… If your flight home is a late evening flight - you have to check out of your room by 12 noon - and you are not entitled to an evening meal (even though you didn’t get one on the first night because of the flight times). This is a pretty poor show from a 5 star hotel… we complained about this and were told (as a goodwill gesture) a plate of sandwiches was in our room when we arrived late….??? This does not equate to the cost of the evening meals for 2. We’d rather have had a meal before we left. When you complain the last thing you want to hear is “Company Policy” - for something that could have been resolved with a tiny bit of compassion and understanding.
But anyway - we enjoyed our stay and I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
This is a fabulous 5 star hotel situated in Matagorda a short distance from Puerto del Carmen. On arrival we were greeted by a lovely gentleman who offered us a glass of fizz, check-in was seamless and only took about 10 minutes. The hotel is beautifully decorated, so modern and every area was spotless. We had a fabulous room on the 4th floor with perfect sea view. Breakfast each morning was delicious with a vast variety of hot and cold foods and beverages to choose from. Each and everyone of the staff were wonderful, so polite and very helpful at all times. The rooms were spotless and cleaned everyday. The bathroom was fantastic with two wash basins, a lovely large walk-in shower and a toilet with a built-in remote controlled bidet! The poolside bar, piano bar and roof terrace bar just amazing. Entertainment every evening was lovely. Beach towels can be collected from reception or the poolside and these can be swapped for fresh towels each day. There are lots of lovely restaurants and bars within walking distance from the hotel and a taxi trip to Puerto del Carmen is only €6.00-€7.00, the hotel order the taxis on request. We had our second stay here in September and it was as good as the first. The hotel and grounds are spotlessly clean. The atmosphere is still very chilled and relaxing. All the staff were lovely and genuine .
I’m struggling to find fault but overall if you’re wanting a nice clean place with a chilled vibe with no fuss to stay in a relatively nice area of Lanzarote and PDC then this is it.
We will come again but unfortunately will be 2028.

Just returned from Lava Beach our second visit in 4 years. Still just as good. Location is wonderful, you can go for miles on promenade. I use a mobility scooter so is perfect. The hotel is spotless. The food excellent. We were b&b but chose to purchase a 3 day voucher for dinners which included the Aroma restaurant where we spent our wedding anniversary meal - fantastic. We had an accessible room which overall is very good just a few improvements would make it excellent. The staff are amazing. Always polite and smiling and so helpful. Would like to mention Christine and Rafa on reception. But especially Elisa who was a credit to the hotel . She had time for everyone and was so attentive and accommodating. Look forward to returning next year 🤞
