Stayed here 2 years ago and was thoroughly impressed. Fast forward 2 years and I was intrigued to see if it had dated,shown signs of age, acted on comments and can only say , if anything this hotel is like a fine wine .... it gets better with age !!
Check in again, absolutely flawless , still had our details from 2 years ago so quick and easy. Room 1438 similar to last time ,(think it was 1540 then) was well up to required standard . Some of the tiles in the room do have a "hollow" feeling whilst walking through mind as if they need to reset them . Knowing what we knew from last time we requested a privacy screen for the glass window between bathroom and bedroom, which was fitted the next morning.
As regards the hotel as a whole , it really is stunningly maintained from the paths to the gardens to planting and the pool.
I think it's Nicole who is constantly around making sure guests are ok in the restaurant,pool and general areas and is the lead force in removing the "reserve the bed" brigade who still exist ( although I must admit she was a little eager with us who had been on the beds for 10 or so mins after breakfast at 8.30 and only went up on the terrace for a cigarette together, the fact our phones were there should have been a sort of giveaway we hadn't gone far) . However good on her for standing by the rules.
We were only bed and breakfast, and the breakfast is still superb . Compliments to the kitchen team.
The thing that makes this place stand out is the staff . From room servicing (the unseen heroes) , to the kitchen to the unbelievable restaurant/bar guys and girls , they are an absolute credit to the hotel . They are the people who you interact with most and not once do they ever let down .
For myself and the good lady (no kids) this is rapidly becoming our go to place for future trips . A fantastic trip from start to finish . Well done Lava Beach staff.
Yet another fabulous visit to the Lava Beach. The moment we set foot through the front door Rafa recognised us and gave us the usual very warm welcome. Reception is always welcoming and there to deal with all your needs. The rest of the staff across the Hotel are amazing as well, from the Gardeners to the waiting staff. Everyone is helpful, polite and kind. The food is fantastic and there is always a varied menu for breakfast and dinner. Kamal in the dining room always headed to us for a chat in Spanish to help build our vocabulary, and hopefully place a drinks order as well! The General Manager, Nicole, is always around checking everywhere and I bumped into her every morning in the Gym when she was checking there was water available. It's no surprise that the staff and service are so good. Good Management always shows out. The pool area is spotless, as is the pool, and there are always beds available. No crazy rush in the morning here. Towels are also supplied. The clientele is older so the Hotel is very quiet, even at the pool. No kids running around as it is predominantly couples and there is nothing here for kids in any event. Overall this Hotel never fails to impress. It is the cleanest and most well maintained Hotel I have ever stayed in, and deserves it's 5 star status. I am a Facilities Management professional and I am always looking for issues as a force of habit, but I struggle to find anything wrong in this Hotel. Even the decor is fresh!
Needless to say, we are back again in May for another two weeks of relaxation and fun. May the months pass quickly!
If I could give the Lava Beach 10* I would! What a fantastic hotel, the best we have ever stayed in, everything was perfect, and I mean perfect. From the moment we arrived the staff were warm and welcoming and incredibly helpful. The room was spotless, comfortable and well maintained. Everything we needed for a relaxing stay. We had 2 celebrations (25 years married) and hubbys big birthday and they went above and beyond in helping us celebrate both occasions. One of our family had to leave early and they had no issues accommodating us. We only went B&B and the breakfast was outstanding, absolutely nothing they didnt have. We really enjoyed our time here, it is the perfect place to unwind relax and enjoy a perfect holiday. We would definitely highly recommend to anyone visiting Lanzarote. We have already told our friends about it and they are now booking it! We will definitely be back and I never say that about any hotel. Well done to all staff from the top down!
A 5 star experience from start to finish. After spotting the hotel on our last visit to Lanzarote, we had to book a stay at this wonderful hotel. As soon as we were dropped off at the main entrance we were greeted by a lovely guy(didn’t get his name) who took our bags from us and then helped with the check in process. We had booked a sea view room and this did not disappoint we stayed in room 1115 with wonderful views of the sea. The room was spacious and had everything you need for your stay, a complimentary stacked fridge and coffee pods what is a lovely touch. The room was cleaned daily and fresh towels provided when requested. All the staff around the hotel are always polite and happy to help, management are always floating around and talking to guests. A few names that we can remember in particular during our stay Nivarna in the restaurant, kamal and Joan in and around the pool area as well as at breakfast. The pool guy louis was always smiling and happy to chat. All the staff would always remember your name and room number when ordering food and drinks. Check out was quick and easy after settling the room bill and we had a room to shower etc as we had a late flight home. We did not have a problem with sun beds, wed get up have breakfast and still be able to find a good spot, even if we left the hotel for a few hours we’d still find somewhere. We cannot speak highly enough of this hotel, we shall be looking to book again with our kids and other family members. We always like going to Lanzarote and this hotel makes want to go back even more.
Emailed ahead asking if possible for a high floor pool view room and got just what we asked for 👍. Room good great size and comfy bed , cleaning good and facilities in room great with good shower etc . Thanks for the bottle of cava for our anniversary which was in the room on arrival . Soundproofing not the best but we did have fairly quiet neighbours on each side so no issue for us . Pools and pool area excellent and clean but I do have an issue with the so called no reserving of sunbeds before 10am rule . As long as you sat on the bed you could reserve the ones you wanted and we saw the usual sad people sat on them from 8.30am onwards so I call that reserved! . Management did remove towels on any beds not occupied before 10am but again just put them onto the table next to the bed so we would not use those as on our first day I was accused by another guest of removing their towels which was not a good start to our holiday . On the plus side there were plenty to go around and comfy , just don’t think the policy is worth it with people sitting on them from 8.30 onwards! We were B and B and the choice was varied and quality good . We chose a 3 night half board package which included 1 al a carte in Aroma which we really enjoyed (thanks to Kamal the waiter ) but the let down where the two evening buffet meals that we were both disappointed with as yes there were plenty of options but the hot food we chose was lukewarm at best and the Mexican theme night was poor with cold faitas and soggy nachos . Entertainment every night , some good some not so good but all singers and no variety ( heard proud Mary so much I was singing it in my sleep 😂) ! . Shout out for Juanjo who served us most evenings and knew our room number without asking 😂. Think the audience helped to create a decent atmosphere on some nights but was disappointed at how many people attended when the hotel seemed full. Would we return, absolutely we would as all in all we had a great two weeks at the hotel .
