Lava Beach Hotel

Hotel has a lot of plus points, stylish, comfortable bed , nice spacious room with great storage. Great pool area with plenty of sunbeds and very nice location close to the beach. Also nice plentiful choice breakfast. Now the negative , we came to the hotel for a three week stay from 14/07/26 until 03/08/26. The first 10 days were fine and then from then on constant noise from the neighbouring room. We heard stomping about doors slamming chairs dragging early in the morning and late at night. We stayed in room 1535 and the noise was coming from room 1534. After days and nights of the noise we complained to reception staff, who assured myself and my partner that steps would be taken to address the noise with the guests the next day was the same level of noise and when we spoke to the reception staff they seemed to be unaware of the previous complaint the day before. Felt as if the whole complaint was met with abject apathy. They said the guests are leaving in 2 days so that was that. The next guests moved in and were equally as noisy and again we just had too tolerate the situation of only being able relax when the guests were out of their room. Not what was expected of a 5 Star Hotel the Soundproofing is very poor. But the main point is that when a complaint was made no follow was made by the staff to see if things had improved or what could be done to improve our experience. We also had a day when maintenance work was being carried out in a neighbouring room with heavy drilling for a number of hours.All we received from the hotel was a note to apologise for any noise in advance. No offer of Lunch or a complimentary cocktail for the inconvenience. Again not really 5 Star customer service. We had booked with another holiday company to come back to Lava Beach Christmas 2026 , you will not be surprised to hear that this will now be cancelled after our hugely disappointing stay during the Summer. Soundproofing needs addressed badly at this Hotel.

Not long returned after our eighth visit to the Lava Beach Hotel and it hasn't let it's standards slip. It is still a fabulous hotel. From the moment you arrive, until it's time to leave, it is an oasis of calm and tranquility. The check in staff at the front desk are courteous and informative and once again recognised us as returning guests. We were quickly off to our room on the fourth floor and as always,it was comfortable and cleaned to a very high standard. The beds are very comfortable with a choice of firm or soft pillows. There is a hairdryer and toiletries included, along with some essentials (toothbrush kit, shaving kit, sewing kit, etc) in case you need them. The rooms also have spacious balconies with comfortable seating. The dining facilities at breakfast are excellent, with a huge choice to suit every taste. The dining and waiting staff are a credit to the hotel. Nothing is too much for them, they will assist you in any way they can and always with a smile. The pool area is spotless and there are always plenty of beds available, although given that we were in high season, it did get busier as the day wore on. Pool towels are available and can be changed as often as you like or need. The one thing that really pleased me is that the hotel management were very active in preventing folk from simply placing towels on beds to claim them. I saw towels being removed from beds on a number of occasions and rightly so. If you are off out for a two or three hour jaunt, you cannot seriously expect to reserve sun loungers and have them stay unused, until you decide if and when to return. The staff at the Lava Beach work tirelessly and are a credit to both themselves and the hotel. Everyone of them, management, waiting staff, bar staff, cleaners, maintenance staff - take a bow, you do an excellent job. The Hotel Lava Beach has a truly relaxing atmosphere, which is why we return again and again. I've been home three days and I am already working out when I can make my next visit. If you are thinking about visiting, don't hesitate. Go, you will not regret it.
