Very noisy and rowdy, not family friendly

The hotel itself is generally nice, the food is adequate, the room is clean and the maids and staff are very friendly. But boy is it noisy, there is a cocktail bar onsite and this closes at midnight, people sit outside until one thirty in the morning laughing and shouting, several complaints were made but the hotel did nothing about the noise, it would have been very simple to go along and close the area and move people away, but they did not. Do Not expect a quiet holiday, this is supposed to be a family hotel, but it was more like an inner city pub. Avoid this place if you want a family Freindly holiday rather than feeling like you are in a night club.

Back for 6th visit to Floresta.

Not long back from 6th stay in Floresta. Love the location with it's sandy beach and conveniently placed shops and transport around the island. As usual, we were full board and found choice available as good as ever. Many thanks to all the staff including management, dining room, bar and domestic staff. You made our holiday! !

Good apartment hotel decent sized rooms

Hotel is actually quite good. Large apartments and decent aircon. Located near a few bars and restaurants but also far e ough away, and usual tat shops. 30- 45 minute walk into Puerto del Carmen . Plenty of sun loungers but maybe a bit short on shade. Usual up early mob to reserve the best ones and then not turn up until 12 noon or later. Entertainment ok if you want to see it. Bar staff very good and happy to chat when quieter times. Food is about standard all inclusive stuff. But always much of the same. Now the bad side. Cockroaches were prevalent in our room. After 2 nights I had killed 9 of them and it is a bit annoying to watch them climb up the wardrobe or to stand on them in the dark. Room was sprayed 2 times during our 19 day stay and it did kill them off a bit but they were still about. Fair plat to the reception desk team as they offered a change of rooms on the 2 occasions I mentioned it to them. Other than that everything was ok but if coming here I would ask for the upper apartments in F or G blocks as they get late sunshine and probably less cockroaches. Only other thing was the 45 minute wait till the coach was ready to take us to the hotel, I would get a taxi at 14 euros and be there in less than 15 minutes.

The Fabulous Hotel Floresta!

I apologise for the delay of this review, but I had to allow enough time to do the Hotel Floresta justice and write an honest, thorough review of our holiday experience, once we had time to reflect on it all.

My first communication was with Edward before we arrived to request an accessible room. He explained it could not be guaranteed as the hotel was so busy, but they would do their very best for me. On arrival we had room I104 which was just perfect for me, due to my current mobility problems. It was spotless, had absolutely everything we would ever need, a lovely terrace and very comfortable bed...and our holiday only got better and better from that moment.

All of the staff were happy and helpful but there were several who we saw more of than others who stood out for us. These were Ingrid and Fatima on reception; and Tito, Noel, Jhing, Jenny and Pablo in the bar and restaurant. Another tall evening bar man was also great, but I have forgotten his name.

The food and drink quality on the all- inclusive was mostly excellent and we were delighted with the choices provided. The chefs are very skilled and trays were replenished with fresh food as soon as they ran out. The 'front of house' staff cleared and reset tables tirelessly and always with a smile. I really loved the stunning salads and fresh salsas… and of course the wide range of dessert choices lol!

I personally prefer my hot food to be hotter, as this was the one thing for me which wasn’t quite right. I believe this issue may have already been rectified though, during the recent kitchen/restaurant refurbishment. I was disappointed in the quality of the all-inclusive cocktails which came from the pre-made mixes, but I can see why they do this, as they are so labour intensive to make. I was happy to pay the small supplement and get one made especially though and there really are so many inclusive drinks to choose from. The beer is Tropical and it very thirst-quenching and cold! All the wines we tried were also very good.

We both enjoyed the mini-golf and had fun playing bingo on the odd occasion. We rebooked for October almost as soon as we got home and this time we will join in with more of the day and evening activities, as my mobility has now much improved since my total hip replacement at the beginning of May.

The hotel is spotless and the grounds beautifully maintained and manicured, our cleaners were fantastic and very polite. We both love swimming and the fact that the large pool is always slightly heated to take the edge of the chill was another reason we chose The Floresta, (especially as we were there at the end of February). The plentiful sun loungers and space around the pools make for a very calm, pleasant poolside experience and there are choices too for those who prefer a quieter pool area on the annexe side of the hotel.

The Floresta’s location is superb for the beautiful sandy ‘blue flag’ beach and local bars and restaurants (all right across the road); as is the no.3 bus stop that will take you all the way to Costa Teguise, (in about 40 minutes depending on time of day,) directly via Arrecife for about 3 euros each way. The bus service is excellent and very cheap with Arrecife being the transfer hub for the rest of the island. It is only a 10 minute transfer from the hotel to the airport; however we never experienced any loud aircraft noise at all, as the planes do not usually take off from the Floresta direction, so win win!

The delights of Puerto Del Carmen are varied and it really does have something for everyone. You can get there either by walking along the prom in about 45 minutes (I have been told), use the bus, or get a taxi, which is only a 5-6 euro fare each way.

In our experience, The Hotel Floresta is a quieter, family orientated hotel, with excellent staff, food, drink and facilities; close to everything and in a flat location for anyone with mobility issues. There is one fairly steep slope or steps to get to reception and the restaurant, but this can be avoided by taking either of the 2 alternative routes to use the much more gentle and shorter slope or steps I was not in a wheelchair, but I was able to mobilise everywhere very well with my walking stick and we chose this hotel because of it’s accessibility and the flatness of the area.

We cannot wait to return to the Hotel Floresta, see some friendly faces and what has changed since the refurb; and of course do some more exploring of this beautiful Canarian island.

All around review

I came here with my partner in June as we booked based off of other reviews. The good: The pool was definitely a good size to fit the amount of people that use the facility and the general view and aesthetic of the hotel is moderately appealing. The apartment we stayed in had a ceiling fan, sitting area, kitchen and sofa lounge which was good and useful. The bad: The hotel in itself isn’t very modern or updated. The bathroom had cracked tiles and shower was not very big water goes absoloutkey everywhere, online it says you have access to a safe, this is true however the safe we had was unusable and wasn’t given any instructions to it as it wasn’t a safe i had seen before as such in other places. The food here was shocking infact really bad, there was no variety and the options wasn’t popular food, there was no fresh fruit only watermelon and most of the fruit and salad bar selection was taken over by the choice of cakes however breakfast was good and nothing to add there. All inclusive here doesn’t mean all inclusive, you had 4 lunch items from the pool bar to select from in which tasted and looked as if you would pay a pound for them and had to pay for most drinks that wasn’t included. There was never any music around the pool only in the pool bar however it wasn’t loud enough for you to be able to hear by the pool so everyday was sat in the bliss of everyone’s conversations, entertainment is a big no no. All around definitely not worth the price you pay for whatsoever and would not return however if you are happy with the misses then you will be pleased with your stay. Staff aren’t very good at other languages which is understandable but surely working with customers in a hotel would be a requirement i suppose. Games room had 3 things and was a very small room. Reception staff was lovely as ever however the bookings women named “Ingrid” is extremely rude and not polite aswell as not a good front for the hotel but the main reception staff were lovely and happy to help at all times (keep your stars there).
