This family-friendly apartment complex is conveniently situated in the popular holiday resort of Puerto del Carmen in the south of Lanzarote. The closest beach, Playa Chica, can be reached within a short stroll, while the Biosfera shopping centre is only 800 metres away. The centre of Puerto del Carmen with its bars, restaurants and nightclubs is just a short stroll away. Lanzarote International Airport can be reached within a short drive. Completely renovated in 2013, the village-style apartment complex with its typical white-washed architecture offers one- and two-bedroom apartments. They have a friendly and inviting interior design, and features include air-conditioning, flat-screen TV and complimentary WIFI. Younger guests will love the mini-club, the playground and the children's pool, while not-so-young guests will appreciate the outdoor pool, the fitness facilities and the chill-out club bar. A perfect place for a sunny holiday.
Take advantage of recreation opportunities such as an outdoor pool or take in the view from a terrace and a garden. Additional amenities at this aparthotel include complimentary wireless Internet access, tour/ticket assistance and a vending machine.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Second visit this year . came in June ,excellent hotel , ALL the staff are great always ready to help , booked via the hotel website so easy to complete, the room was nice , bed was comfortable also , kitchen was fine , along with bathroom , towels always there , two bottles of water and bottle of sparking wine was there on arrival also , stayed half board , food in restaurant was good , plenty of choice at both breakfast and dinner , will be returning
We came here for a family wedding and have a very mixed review… First of all, I don’t think this complex is family friendly, or autism friendly as they state within the hotel. No inflatables are allowed in the swimming pool, including for children, the doors do not lock from the inside which made it incredibly difficult for my sister to manage her son who is autistic and will run, and the security of the hotel is nonexistent. The main gate is never locked or manned so it’s incredibly easy to gain access to the hotel if you are not a guest, which I have never seen such a lack of security before.
The rooms are nice, clean and spacious with different amenities which was nice and useful. The breakfast food was good. Christopher (I hope that’s his name) is a total asset to the complex! The man never stops working and was continuously friendly and helpful!
We had quite a negative ending to our holiday. Multiple times throughout the week we asked to extend our check out time to later as we had a baby with us and would need to wash/sterilise bottles and somewhere to nap. We were told by a female manager on many occassions ‘no’ as the hotel was booked. We checked on the hotels website, along with booking.com to discover many rooms were available and said we would pay for a later check out, to which again she responded ‘no, book it on booking.com if it’s available then’. She was extremely unhelpful and unfair about the situation and admitted that late check out only works if it’s worth their while in terms of money… She only changed her mind when my sister questioned their autism friendly policy and rightfully said that her autistic son needed somewhere to go during the day to get away from the main pool area. We ended up in a shower room, despite many rooms being available.
This left a horrible last impression of the hotel, which sadly tainted the last few days.
One thing I did like and agree with is that although the sunbed wars are bad, the staff do their best to take away all towels before the pool opening time… however, please consider providing more space to sunbathe as this was an anxiety daily.
I wouldn’t return to this place.
Gloria Izaro has the friendliest most helpful staff. Everyone is pleasant with a genuine smile on their face and always happy to chat.
The apartments are spotless as is all the complex. Cleaners working all through the day to keep up a good standard. Rooms are good size and very comfortable. The only gripe is they are tired and in need of a complete makeover. Furnishings are old and need replaced ( I know people sitting on sofas/chairs wearing suncream is a culprit) however they do need refreshed as does bathroom. Dining room is clean with efficient staff clearing tables etc. Breakfast is good but dinner not always the best, however we did always find something. Even though we go HB. we still like to go out to the many lovely restaurants some nights. The complex is at the top of a very steep hill which can be hard, especially in the heat. We would walk to the harbour of the old town or sometimes to the strip in new town. Taxis back up best option and are plentiful and cheap. We have been going to Lanzarote for many years and have seen a lot of the island and done all the tourist sights. It is our happy place and now that we are retired we just love the sunshine, the people, the food and a relaxing break. Gloria Izaro gives us that. especially with the lovely staff. It is a quaint small complex, but just a note to owner/management, a refurb would give Gloria Izaro the lift it needs and deserves as so many guests we have spoken to, return time after time, but agree it needs to be completely refreshed. Would recommend this hotel to anyone and will certainly be returning 😊
Excellent hotel with first class facilities, but the real strength of the place is the staff, friendly helpful and welcoming, a great team.
Lovely hotel. Staff were always cheerful and helpful. Rooms were kept spotless. Cleaned everyday. Good value for money. The only downside for us was location. It wasn't far from bars and restaurants but it was on a hill. However it did not affect our holiday. As we managed to walk down the hill and got taxi back. Taxi fares were very reasonable. Overall great holiday.
