Overall, we enjoyed every minute at hotel fariones, I contacted the hotel early to tell them it will be my partner’s birthday while we are away, they sorted us out with a little room decoration and a complimentary cake! He absolutely loved it, on top of it i bought a bottle of wine and a few heinekens which were in the room completely cold in ice. We had a drink of cava on arrival😍 the hotel, it’s so gorgeous. All staff are kind and very helpful, we did find it hard to find staff that could fully understand us occasionally but was never really an issue. The gardens are always perfectly kept together, the pool was never dirty. Staff always welcomed you with a friendly smile. Housekeeping was so quick! we couldn’t believe how quick our room was cleaned and still left spectacular. Breakfast was the best i’ve ever had while on holidays, we missed it so much when we did excursions!
Following excursions, Harriet from guest services was an absolute star. She was so kind and friendly and we always loved to see her and say hi, she had the best balance of English and Spanish which really helped. Thankyou for making our return to Lanzarote so special, we look forward to returning sometime.
We have stayed at this hotel before, which makes this review even more disappointing to write. This experience was so poor that we will not be returning.
Check-in involved almost 30 minutes of relentless sales pitches for room upgrades and additional paid extras. After travelling, this was exhausting and felt more like sitting through a sales presentation than being welcomed into a luxury hotel.
The breakfast was also underwhelming, with a surprisingly limited selection for a hotel claiming to offer a five-star experience. Around the pool, many of the loungers were heavily worn, with obvious signs of age and deterioration that should have been replaced long ago.
From the very first day, we were made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. A member of staff approached us and asked for our room number in a way that made us feel singled out and uneasy. Rather than enjoying the start of our holiday, we were left questioning why we had been approached in the first place.
When we raised our concerns with hotel management, we expected empathy and reassurance. Instead, our concerns were dismissed. We were simply told it was because of "security threats," but no genuine apology or understanding was offered. Rather than making us feel safer, every interaction with staff after that made us feel even more uncomfortable and upset. At no point did anyone seem interested in understanding why we felt the way we did or making things right.
On our last day, I left an honest Google review describing our experience. Instead of accepting the feedback, the hotel contacted us and asked us to delete or change the review because we were returning guests. We were also told that our review had made the staff sad. That response completely missed the point. Our review reflected a genuinely upsetting experience, and instead of taking responsibility or trying to learn from it, the focus was on persuading us to remove our criticism. To make matters worse, the hotel's public response to my review contained statements that did not accurately reflect what had happened, which only reinforced our disappointment.
Perhaps the clearest indication of how little the hotel valued our experience came at checkout. Despite knowing we had raised serious concerns during our stay, not a single member of staff asked whether we had enjoyed our visit or if there was anything they could have done better. There was no attempt to repair the relationship or show that our feedback mattered.
Luxury hospitality is about much more than impressive buildings and expensive rooms. It is about making guests feel welcome, respected, and valued. Throughout this stay, we experienced the exact opposite. Every interaction with staff left us feeling more uncomfortable, more unwelcome, and more upset. The way our concerns were handled during our stay, and again after we left, was deeply disappointing and fell far below the standard we expect from a five-star hotel.
I cannot recommend this hotel based on our experience, and we certainly won't be returning. I wouldn’t return to this hotel even if they paid me.
Pure Joy to stay at this Hotel. Excellent staff, food and opportunities to relax. Also great to meet a management team so open minded to new ideas. Will be a pleasure to come again.
Locate right in the center, ideal to explore the island as either south or north take about the same time. With a breath taking view over the ocean with the amazing mountains line on the righ, makes you doubt that the view is for real, the combination is stuning , specially when you are on a 5 star hotel with highly caring staff, mixed with fine pieces of art, and tastefull furniture. Selected music in the evenings, and all around very peacefull and relaxed. Hard to realize you are in an hotel with these dimensions, and in reality this is how home should feel like. Spot on, we had the time of our lifes!
Highly recommend this hotel, the Friday evening bbq was amazing along with the onsite Asian restaurant! David at the pool was so so good with our toddler throughout our stay!
