Casas Heddy is located in the residential area of Los Mojones in the outskirts of Puerto del Carmen. The resort is built in a typical Canarian style and is 100% adapted to people with mobility challenges and can offer fantastic facilities throughout. The relax, wellness and treatment area offers a stunning outdoor heated pool, hairdressers, dietist, fysiotherapy, treatments, indoor heated therapy pool and a gym There is a poolbalbar, restaurant and bar open for main meals and snacks. Casas Heddy offers single, double and triple rooms, all with TV, aircondition/heating and telephone.
Take advantage of recreational opportunities offered, including an outdoor pool, an indoor pool and a fitness centre. This resort also features complimentary wireless Internet access, a television in a common area and tour/ticket assistance.
If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat, Casa Heddy is ideal, beautiful well kept gardens with cactus and succulents, trees and parrots. The rooms in bungalow style blocks, are basic, but adequate ( I had a single) with air con, but only a kettle ( bring your own Coffee ) , The bathroom or rather wet room was lovely ( tho towels a bit thread bare.) Staff are very friendly, which seems to be the case throughout the Island. Pool area is nice , water very warm , but then it’s been in the thirties c. There’s a nice cool breeze that often flows through the camp due to its elevated location, even so the sun is strong so be prepared. If coming here, I’d recommend a car, the town is a good walk down hill, maybe 3/4 mile, which when carrying bags back up the hill, or after a long day out, and in the heat, you will notice it. That said you soon get fit. There’s no bar/cafe outside the hotel, so unless you venture into town, you’re dependent on the hotel. It’s this point was my biggest disappointment, tho it won’t bother most, coffee machine operates at breakfast, then turned off. No coffee in the evening. As I don’t drink alcohol , coffee is my go too drink all hours. So it’s instant coffee in your room, or a walk at least half way into town. The food is ok, but by day 5, it became monotonous and repetitive. Lacks choice, a small salad bar, followed by meat, usually pork or chicken, and fish, a rice, potato or pasta dish. If you’re gluten free, advice is shown, but alternatives are not available. Quite often some of the main salad and or veg, and all the deserts contain gluten , ( there’s a supermarket half way to town that had a superb selection of GF foods/bread etc. ) Ice Cream, it’s right into town in the big shopping centre. So fruit is is, ( or a lump of jelly, ) usually different variety of melon. So, no noisy tacky entertainment, lovely peace and quiet.
Casa Heddy – August 2026
We stayed at Casa Heddy in August 2026 — myself, my wife and our two teenage daughters.
Arrival & Rooms
On arrival, we couldn’t believe how quiet the hotel was. It was just before 10pm and it was practically a ghost town.
We had requested two rooms, as our daughters need a bit more space, and had also asked for them to be next door to each other. When we received our keys, we realised the rooms were actually three doors apart. Not the end of the world, I suppose, but we also quickly realised that we had drawn the short straw when it came to the rooms.
Our daughters had a beautiful, large raised patio with lovely views on all sides. Our patio, on the other hand, was tiny and very dark, with a view of a six-foot dark grey rock wall. It was a bit disappointing by comparison.
Our first night was uncomfortable, as the air conditioning in our room wasn’t working in 30-degree heat. We reported this the following day and were told it would be looked at. Guess what? Nothing happened.
We asked again the next day and were basically told that we would have to put up with it, or move to an alternative room on the other side of the hotel, which obviously wasn’t ideal.
The air conditioning was never even looked at during our stay. In my opinion, a room shouldn’t be rented out if advertised facilities such as air conditioning aren’t working, particularly during the height of summer.
Location
The hotel is located quite a distance from the beach and the livelier areas, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. However, the busy area is at the bottom of a very steep hill.
Walking down is no problem, but walking back up is exhausting, especially in August, and takes quite a while unless you’re an Olympic athlete! It would probably be much more bearable in the cooler months.
If you want a taxi back, good luck! During peak season, it seems almost impossible to get one. On the occasions we tried, we were warned to expect waits of over an hour.
We ended up hiring a car from a company just down the road, which gave us much more freedom and also meant we could stock up on water, drinks and snacks. There was a good-sized fridge in the room, which was useful for keeping everything cold.
Food & Drinks
This is where the hotel does much better.
We stayed half board, which included breakfast and an evening meal.
Breakfast was very good, with a good choice of cereals, breads, nice soft croissants and a full English breakfast, with eggs cooked to order. Everything was fresh, tasty and well presented. Even the scrambled eggs were good — which is saying something, as they’re normally pretty horrible on hotel buffets!
The coffee from the machine was also surprisingly good, as were the fruit juices, which actually tasted like real juice rather than the usual weak concentrate you get in many hotels.
The evening meal was buffet-style during our stay. There was a nice selection of fresh, interesting salads, breads and a potato dish, along with a few hot dishes, although I didn’t try many of these.
There was usually fresh fish or meat cooked on the plancha, which was served alongside the salads. Everything was nice and fresh, although it did become a little repetitive after a week.
If you don’t eat salad or fish, you might be disappointed with the evening options. I love both, though, so I was more than happy.
The desserts were a bit of a letdown, but to be honest, they usually are in buffet-style restaurants.
The dining room always looked spotlessly clean, and the waiting staff were all pleasant and friendly. They did take their time serving drinks, though. I had a beer most nights, which was nice during the first few days but unfortunately became flat for the rest of the holiday.
Atmosphere
The hotel is a really chilled and relaxed place to stay, but at times it felt a little too quiet.
Everyone would eat their dinner and then head back to their rooms, leaving the hotel feeling like a ghost town after around 9pm. Everything seemed to shut down by 10pm.
It really lacks atmosphere in the evenings. Even on the two nights when there was some entertainment — a quiz and a singer — the atmosphere quickly disappeared, with most people leaving by around 9:30pm.
I suppose you have the lively strip if you want entertainment, although we found it quite tacky. It would have been nice to have something in between — perhaps some Spanish music, local musicians or just some more upbeat background music to keep the atmosphere going.
Pool
The pool is very nice, clean and feels safe. Even in August, there were always plenty of sunbeds available.
There isn’t much shade apart from a few palm trees. I assume umbrellas would struggle with the island’s windswept conditions, though!
Unfortunately, the pool was closed when we tried to use it at around 5pm on our first day due to cleaning, which was a little annoying.
There is also a lovely poolside bar and restaurant, which is a great place to escape the sun. I only used it for drinks and a few snacks, but some of the food coming out looked really good.
Overall
Overall, I think Casa Heddy is a good hotel with the potential to be a great one.
The biggest issue for us was having no air conditioning for the entire stay. In 30-degree heat, it had a real impact on our enjoyment and sleep, and I genuinely feel the room shouldn’t have been rented out while such an important advertised facility wasn’t working.
The patio was also disappointing, particularly when compared with the much larger and better-positioned patio our daughters had.
That said, there are plenty of positives. The hotel is very clean, the pool is lovely, the breakfast is excellent and the food overall is fresh and good quality. The staff were friendly, and it’s a very relaxed place to stay.
If you’re looking for somewhere peaceful to completely switch off for a week, or a good base from which to explore the island, Casa Heddy could be a good choice.
However, if you’re looking for a bit more atmosphere, evening entertainment or somewhere close to the beach and lively areas, you may be disappointed. The steep walk back from the beach is also something worth considering, particularly during the hotter months.
For us, the hotel had plenty going for it, but the lack of air conditioning throughout our stay was a major issue and ultimately stopped it from being a great experience.
Unfortunately our stay hasn’t been as good as it has been in the past we came here the same time last year and absolutely loved it everything was amazing however this was a complete different experience. When we first got here walking into our room was awful there was ants everywhere, crumbs on the floor like it had barely been cleaned. Then a few days later in the same room our door wouldn’t lock which meant we had to change our rooms when we were leaving to go out for the night. We payed for half board however the selection of the evening meals was awful and the food that was there was too. The rooms get cleaned every other day however on one of the days the maid came at 9 therefore we said for the room not to be cleaned yet as we were still in bed but after this the maid never returned which meant our room didn’t get cleaned for 3 days and had to use the same towels and had no toilet paper. When the maid finally did come on the 4th day she took all towels and left none for us. We went to reception to tell her about this and she laughed in our faces about it. Another incident we weren’t keen on was on one of the other guests was extremely drunk and could barely walk or speak. He entered the pool clearly too drunk to be there to which the lifeguard just found it funny that he was drunk and allowed him to stay in the pool until another woman complained to a bar staff member who dealt with the man perfectly. Overall it never really seemed like any issues we had were cared about which is a shame because we did really love this place!
Just spent a lovely warm relaxing week by the pool at Casas Heddy. The communal areas of the hotel have a traditional rustic feel and are nicely lit up after dark. The room was basic, equipped with fridge, kettle and a/c unit but spotlessly clean and with new fittings in the bathroom. I did not use the safe in the room so cannot comment on this. Be aware that the shower does not have a tray but is more of a wet room, which can make it a bit slippery without due care and attention. There is however a long handled sponge provided which is good idea, allowing you to dry down the area after use.
The food is delicious with omelettes made to order in the morning and a fresh fish/meat option from the buffet each night. This is not a burger and chips kind of restaurant although you can order a burger and fries from the pool bar at lunchtime if desired.
The gardens and pool areas are well kept, spotlessly clean and the pool is heated. Fresh pool towels are available from the pool attendant every day. No problem getting a sun lounger although a few more parasols would be appreciated to supplement the natural shade from the palms which moves with the sun during the course of the day.
It is a very quiet hotel with the emphasis on rest and relaxation. There are some daily activities such as aqua aerobics, boules, mini golf and a quiz/music a couple of nights a week but if you are looking for cabaret style entertainment every night and bars till the small hours, you will need to take a taxi to the strip instead.
As mentioned, the hotel is at the top of a steep hill, which does require a certain level of fitness when walking back up from the marina or the supermarket in the heat of the day. There is a back gate to the hotel for which you are provided a key, which makes the walk into town much quicker.
The staff are lovely, smiling and quietly welcoming. I really enjoyed the peace and quiet and relaxation. It all depends on what you are looking for from your holiday. I would definitely return to Casas Heddy the next time I feel like getting away from it all! I am missing my morning coffee by the pool already! 😎
From the moment you arrive you feel welcome and at home. The ladies on reception are wonderful, very helpful and friendly. How they remember people's names, I don't know but they do. The location is in a quiet neighbourhood with a 10 minute walk to amenities and the harbour. The hill is quite steep so if you are not up to it taxis are cheap. My room is super clean and spacious with a nice outdoor space. The guests are majority older making the atmosphere incredibly chilled and very friendly. It is a family hotel but there aren't many/any children and not too much other than the pool for them. As a solo female traveller I can't recommend Casas Heddy enough.
