Went for a relaxing 11 night stay Apartment was spacious A little on the expensive side. Location was central to shops and bars Atmosphere was fun with high cleanliness throughout Entertainment was loud at times but good fun for families Bar service was good either way clean amenities throughout
Spent a week at Los Zocos.
Location - close to supermarkets (closest 20m from the entrance) with a small shopping centre over the road. 7 minutes to the local sandy beach which I saw being cleaned every morning. The main draft of the resort is an easy 10 minutes from the hotel, where there are bars and shops. Lovely promenade worth a walk. Bus stop 30m from the hotel. I recommend Teguise market on a Sunday when special buses are laid on every 30m from 9am. The Hotel does not have a courtesy bus.
Rooms - we had a Junior Suite, one bedroom with a lounge/kitchen, kettle and Fridge. Large balcony overlooking the quiet pool complex. We were on the second floor but note there are no lifts. Very comfortable beds, safe (chargeable)
Rooms cleaned daily.
Rooms are located in two crescent shape buildings overlooking separate pool areas.
Facilities - active animation team at the ‘noisy’ pool daytime. Excellent pool complex (several pools) ideal for children of all ages! Pool bar which also serves food..hot dogs, burgers, chips, toasties, rice etc.
Quiet pool also has two pools but also has a couple of swimming lanes. Bar well managed with ample staff and little/no waiting.
Both pool areas are very clean although the water felt cold it was probably the filtration system replenishing water.
Whilst there were sufficient sunbeds, reserving them with towels was customary to get your preferred location. The noisy pool was more popular.
Gym facility limited but ok for a short break.
Restaurant - plentiful food, grill, clean, excellent staff, fab breakfast (full English available..they use thick English bacon(!). Wine, beer and soft drinks on tap. Tables up to six people available. Occasional queuing at busy times but staff miked up and happy to set a table on demand. I never saw anyone waiting for more than a couple of minutes.
One visit for Adults pw to the Italian à la carte which was ok. In the same venue is the Oriental Restaurant which was the usual buffet but they also have sushi available.
Entertainment- our Grandchildren loved the kids club (1.5 hrs AM and 1.25 hrs PM) and the Mini Disco. Later adult entertainment variable and enjoyable. Again the Bar was well covered by staff with limited waiting.
Reception, very helpful. Towels are a €10 deposit each but can be changed daily with the Lifeguard at each pool.
The Hotel exceeded our expectations. The staff were friendly and professional. Food was fabulous and we had a most enjoyable week.
Location- great Location near the beach and shops and restaurants. Rooms - rooms were a good size BUT not the cleanest. The floor was disgusting, you couldnt walk around bear foot. Often the towels came.with black hairs on them. Our bathroom was tiny. Overall the room really needs a fresh up and let the holiday down for us. Food - there was a lot of choice BUT after 10 days it's all the same each week, and we ended up eating out, cos it was too samey. Service- but disappointed, we normally get friendly with the bar staff etc, but found them a tad on the rude side. Even the reception staff didn't seem overly happy to help. Pool - yes it's cold but if going in Aug, you need it as its hot. You do have sunbed wars in the morning, not for a sun bed but for the shade, as there isn't a lot of undrellas.
Over all we thought was NOT a 4 star, and would personally not go back.
We flew with Jet2 as a package holiday. the location lovely, few shops nearby and 10 min walk to the beach. Grounds of the hotel are immaculate and well maintained as is the pool areas of which there are 2. Quiet pool and Entertainment pool. The usual lounger hoggers were out early doors to blag first dibs, however there were plenty of loungers, just not enough with umbrellas or shade!! The staff work hard to ensure all areas around resort are clean, if only they had same effort with the rooms. Dining, we were all inclusive and it what you would expect but had variety. Main dining area was alikened to a school canteen and very noisy. If you can ask, for an outside dining table. There is also an oriental buffet which we tried and enjoyed. We could not use the a la carte Itallian resturant as a family, they dont accept children under 13, utterly bizarre when its a family resort!
Accomodation- there are semingly 3 levels of accomodation, Junior Suites, Senior suites and premium suites.
We booked a senior suite, which have 2 bedrooms and situated on the ground floor. Room 2144 which was at the far end of the resort overlooking a barren garden and the main road.
It was unclean, flooring was sticky and torn in places. Dining table was sticky to the touch, marks on the seating. There was also a broken floor tile in the bathroom. It also had that odour of having not been used in a while. We then had the added bonus of cockroaches. 4 in the Bathroom and to cap it off a large one in the bag holding the spare pillows in the wardrobe. Now, reception were helpful and offered to place us in temporary room to sleep and our room would be fumigated in the morning. It was now 23.30. Security arrived with the key to the temporary apartment which was upstairs. What a difference in standard of rooms. (Obviously this was a premium room). The decor was modern, it was clean and smelt lovely. It was very different to our senior suite that was drab, dirty and in need of a major refurb.
We decided to remain in our 1st room, and speak to Jet2 rep in morning.
Sally, who was helpful attempted to appease by telling us cockroaches were not an indication of dirt but are common on the island due to the hot climate, however, she did speak to the Hotel manager who arranged a room change. We were allowed to view the room first, another senior suite situated between both pools and a better view. This room was cleaner, but again in need of updating, the footfall through these rooms must be constant, in the down season more work needs to be done to bring these rooms up to date decor wise and cleanliness wise. When you pay a susbstantial amount of money for your family holiday, you dont expect to have to buy your own cleaning products to ensure its clean. We also still had problems with cockroaches (downside of ground floor and lack of pest control) 3 large roaches inside toilet bowl one morning, looked like they were having swimming lessons. We only had our room cleaned twice whilst there, we did have a plentiful supply of fresh towels each day.
Reception staff were unfriendly, on our final day, my partner purchased some postcards, when recieving her change, she asked for for a 2 euro coin to changed to single 1 euros, so we could have a game of pool. This was refused and she was directed to ask at the pool bar as reception were cashing up. Pool bar declined and sent my partner back to reception, who again refused stating they needed coins for the bank. Finally, the small shop next door gave us change. Staff in the dining area are hard working and helpful.
This is a 2/3 hotel at best, Jet2 need to return and do a proper inspection before sending guests here.
Great hotel lots to chose from in the restaurant and lovely pools. the rooms are very clean and have booked to go back for the 3rd time.
