El Trebol

Overall, the hotel isn't exactly luxurious, but it's well-located. It's close to the beach and the center of Costa Tequise. The entertainment team is also worth mentioning, as they make your stay even more enjoyable. A big thank you to Nolan, Mario, and Mariam for the time we spent together 😉❤️

The location was good for this hotel. A convenient supermarket right at the back with bars and restaurants close walk by. Weather was warm and the lanzarote breeze was welcome at times. The pool is freezing, takes quite a few minutes to acclimatise and the breeze is unwelcome when you get out of the pool wet (not that anything can be done about weather but fair warning) . The atmosphere around the hotel was decent, obviously alot of families enjoying some activities the animation team had on, but to be critical I wish there was more to do, sometimes 1 activity a day that I could see and very much focused on young children in my opinion. The entertainment at night was very repetitive although the kids enjoyed the disco. The rooms are very basic and a bit dated. The kitchenette had a small sink, hob, kettle and fridge but a bit dirty looking i.e the grout around the walls were brown, fridge yellowed with age and chipped. Also around the pool was dirty, litter was spilling out of bins for days on end and dirty paper plates left on the ground. The air conditioning was a big con, blowing exclusively in the bedroom which didn't cool the rest of the apartment unless the door was left wide open, woke every night gasping for water as my mouth was so dry. You definetly get what you pay for in a sense that there is definetly no thrills about this hotel, I wasn't wowed by a single thing. Food was quite basic even though they offered different cuisines every night. Pool bar stocked burgers, hot dogs and different sides throughout the day. Dissapointed in the lack of toilets around the pool areas as there was only 2, a dirty dark one behind the pool bar and a block behind the restaurant, which was a bit of a walk when you were at some of the further pools. It was quiet at night and the expected noise levels throughout the day with families playing which I didn't mind. Also no music blasting throughout the day which I didn't mind. Now the BIGGEST con of all, in my opinion, was the service and some of the staff. Firstly I had to ask 3 times for extra pillows in the room. Then the staff at the pool bar were awful and ignorant. I felt like I was inconveniencing them to ask for a spirit poured every time. most of the time I was stood waiting for 5 minutes as it is not constantly manned and they can be heard chatting from the kitchen. I watched many other guests have to shout "hello?" to get any service. I sat and watched one of the lady staff scowl and every person at the bar INCLUDING children asking for slushies. Even on my attempts of saying hello and being extra nice to them was met with sour faces. Really not welcoming. I think I can count on one hand how many times I seen any of the staff smile at anybody the whole week. Side note, lanzarote airport was a complete disaster. Stood queueing for hours on entry and departure.

We came to El Trebol as a big group of 17 of us. We had the most fantastic time ever. The entertainment team truly made our time here fabulous. Nolan, Maria, and Mariam made our time here that little bit better. From the first night we had caught the attention of them by being team Pasta, and ever since then it was an ongoing joke with the team. We really recommend this hotel, with the biggest recommendation being join in with the entertainment, even if it seems a little bit silly, it’s the best laugh we’ve had in the longest time.
