Definitely NOT a 5-star hotel
I genuinely don’t understand how this hotel has a 5-star rating. In my opinion, it is 3-star at best — outdated, stuffy and desperately in need of renovation. And please, do not believe the TikTok videos. I actually watched them filming content while I was staying at the hotel, and what you see online is NOT what you experience in real life. Good angles and clever editing can make almost anything look luxurious. The reality is completely different. The lifts are a nightmare. In a 17-storey hotel you can easily wait five minutes, with people literally moving from one lift to another trying to catch one. There is no outdoor pool despite the hotel being right by the ocean. The only pool is indoors, surrounded by artificial plastic grass. I found it so unappealing that I never used it. On our first day I ordered a Caesar salad by the pool and found an actual STONE in it. The chef explained that it was volcanic rock because the lettuce is grown using volcanic stones. My response was simple: don’t you wash the lettuce before serving it? They offered to remake it, but by then I had completely lost my appetite. Our room on the 8th floor had a broken window that had literally been taped up. I had booked two double beds and, after a lot of hassle, they eventually brought me a folding bed. Five-star luxury? The breakfast and dinner were incredibly average, with a surprisingly limited selection for such a large hotel. Even the fruit selection was poor. I genuinely don’t understand the reviews describing the food as “amazing”. It was standard 3–4-star hotel food at best. The only 10/10 goes to the restaurant service staff. They were fantastic — polite, attentive and efficient, and the restaurant was absolutely spotless. They deserve genuine praise. But excellent restaurant staff cannot make this a 5-star hotel. Broken taped-up window, folding bed, no outdoor pool, terrible lifts, average food and a stone in my Caesar salad. Five stars? Absolutely not.
We did have a great time overall, and the staff were excellent throughout our stay. Our room was cleaned every day, the breakfast was great and the food overall was okay. The pool area was also nice and we enjoyed spending time there. However, there were a few issues that I feel need addressing. The hotel is quite far away from everything, which made getting around and booking excursions more difficult. There was no Jet2 representative available at the hotel during our stay, which made arranging excursions particularly difficult. The hotel reception did try to help, but the alternatives they offered were considerably more expensive. There were also some maintenance and upkeep issues. We noticed cracked windows both in our room and around the sunbathing areas, and there were other areas of the hotel that could have been better maintained. We were also charged a €6 room service fee which wasn't disclosed when ordering, and €12 for two Cokes, which we felt was very expensive. Overall, we had a lovely holiday and the staff really were fantastic, but the hotel does need some refurbishment and better upkeep in certain areas. With some improvements, particularly to the maintenance and transparency around additional charges, this could be a much better experience.
My friend and I stayed here in mid July 2026 and I honestly couldn’t recommend this hotel enough! Every single staff member was very attentive, welcoming and more than happy to help us settle in comfortably. In particular, Manuela was such a lovely host and was such a gem! The cleanliness throughout the hotel went beyond our expectation, we didn’t have a singular issue with any bedding, air conditioning, mosquitoes etc as cleaners thoroughly cleaned our room each day. Breakfast was delicious and there was a large variety of food that catered to all sorts of diets. The indoor pool and sun beds was my highlight of the trip it was gorgeous and the staff there were very kind to each guest. Noise wasn’t an issue at all for us and this hotel genuinely is the best I’ve ever stayed in. I couldn’t recommend this enough it’s worth more than what you pay honestly! Only con is that the area itself has got not much to do other than go to the beach but that’s not to do with the hotel itself - just a pre warning. Overall, the hotel itself was the highlight of our girls trip to Lanzarote!
Highly recommend looking for an ALTERNATIVE hotel! Not 5 Stars!
Spent a week here at the beginning of July, let’s start by saying there is no where to properly sunbathe, a restricted 12 subbeds for the whole hotel which have towels marking them from 8am onwards and not regulated by staff, not one of the days were we able to use this facility.
The dinner facilities are also unreasonably priced. We decided when we arrived at the hotel to use their dinning services for the evenings, there is suppose to be a deal which allows you to save money when using it across serval days. Starting at €35 an head (which is already overpriced for what you get) Not much variation in the food choices, the dinning staff would leave plates to pile up. On arrival we were given the wrong prices alongside no negotiation from the reception staff. Even though we had gone away to think about it without realising we had been adding up a total of the wrong price, no negotiation or apology. It felt very unprofessional and with a lack of customer service.
The cleaning service of the rooms would be left more as a quick tidy, no attention to detail. Had the same towels for 6 nights, we had dirty marks left in our bath tub throughout the whole week, as well as dirty mugs left for a couple of days without being replaced. Not to mention one evening we returned to the room with our door left open !!
This was not at all a service or facility you would expect from a 5 star hotel, I think this rating needs to be reviewed and training for the staff to be tightened. The location can’t be the whole thing to justify the price or condition of this hotel.
There is so much potential with the space of this hotel however so much of it was left vacant with no communal area to enjoy a drink and relax in the evening. Very hostile environment.
We will not be returning.
The views from Blue17 on the 17th floor are fantastic, and the restaurant on the first floor where breakfast and buffet are served daily also well worth a visit. The hotel is very clean, well maintained, and in a great location for both walking and accessing public transport. The only minor downside is the underground parking, which is available at €10 per night. The staff are hardworking, friendly, and consistently provide excellent service. A special mention to Patricia, who was always wore a welcome smile and was helpful during our stay. We also really appreciated being able to use the pool and showers while waiting for our transfer and flight. It’s a small touch, but it made our experience even better.
