Treat yourself with massages, body treatments and facials. You're sure to appreciate the recreational amenities, which include 2 outdoor swimming pools, a nightclub and a health club. This Beaux Arts property also features complimentary wireless Internet access, concierge services and gift shops/newsstands. Guests can catch a ride to nearby destinations on the local area shuttle (surcharge).
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
A lovely hotel with excellent staff — but our room experience left us feeling let down
We have just returned from a 10-day stay at Suite Princess in Gran Canaria. Overall, we enjoyed our holiday and there is a great deal to recommend about the hotel, particularly the staff, food and entertainment. Unfortunately, our experience with the room we had booked has left us with rather mixed feelings.
We had booked a Deluxe Junior Suite on levels 6–8, close to a lift, which was particularly important to us because of mobility requirements. On arrival, however, the hotel was fully booked on those floors and we were offered various alternatives on level 3.
For the first two days we didn’t unpack while trying to resolve the situation. Eventually, we accepted a Junior Suite close to a lift so that we could unpack and actually start enjoying our holiday. It was a suitable compromise in the circumstances, and we appreciated the efforts of the reception staff, who provided excellent customer service.
The disappointing part came on our final day.
We were given an exit room so that we could shower and change before travelling home — and there it was: the room layout we had originally booked. Freestanding television, desk, offset bedroom and the Deluxe Junior Suite layout we had expected.
After spending 10 days in a Junior Suite because the accommodation we booked was unavailable, seeing the correct room on our last day rather rubbed salt into the wound. We left feeling that we had paid for a room category we simply hadn’t received.
That issue aside, there was plenty we genuinely liked.
The food was good, with plenty of choice, although the descriptions on the buffet didn’t always match what was actually being served. More seriously, sandwiches labelled as vegan during the night contained ham and cheese. That clearly needs addressing, as food labelling shouldn’t be something guests have to second-guess.
The staff throughout the hotel were excellent. Particular thanks go to Ainhoa in dining, Caroline in dining/bar, Alex on reception and Millie in dining. All helped make our stay more enjoyable and deserve recognition.
Our room was generally cleaned well, although the rug was stained, dirty and didn’t appear to be vacuumed properly.
The television provision could also do with updating. There was no casting facility, no practical USB connection available to us, very limited UK channels and the signal regularly dropped out.
At the bars, branded spirits are available, but you need to specifically ask for them — for example, ask for Smirnoff rather than vodka, otherwise the local brand tends to be served automatically.
The hotel did some things particularly well for guests with disabilities. Our Blue Badge was recognised and, on request, sunbeds were allocated for the duration of our stay, which was very helpful.
There are, however, some accessibility issues around the pool. Many of the parasols are fixed into the ground, the sunbeds are positioned very close together to fit everyone in and this makes it difficult to move beds into the shade or create additional space where needed. We also felt that some of the lifeguards were positioned quite a distance from the pool itself, albeit understandably under shade.
There is a sloping route down towards the beach which looks accessible on a mobility scooter. Going down is certainly possible. Getting back up is another matter entirely. The gradient is simply too steep for some scooters, so anyone with limited mobility should bear this in mind before setting off.
The entertainment was one of the highlights of our stay. We particularly enjoyed The Three Tenors, Boney M and Michael Jackson tribute acts, along with the blonde lady playing guitar in the piano bar. There was some genuinely excellent evening entertainment.
One thing worth knowing before visiting is that beautiful Puerto de Mogán can actually be seen from the hotel and looks tantalisingly close. Unfortunately, because of a landslide several years ago affecting the direct route, getting there currently involves either two buses or a taxi costing more than €50 for the round trip. It is nevertheless well worth visiting — a stunning little harbour often described locally as “Little Venice.”
So, rather a mixed review.
Excellent staff, good food, very enjoyable entertainment and some thoughtful disability assistance. There is much about Suite Princess that we liked and several members of staff were exceptional.
But if a guest has booked and paid for a particular room category — especially where the location and layout matter because of mobility — they should either receive it or be given an appropriate adjustment/refund when the hotel cannot provide it.
We enjoyed our holiday. We just shouldn’t have had to discover on the day we were leaving what the room we’d actually paid for looked like.
Really great holiday. The hotel is need of a bit of a refresh, but that’s all I can say negative, it was clean, the staff were so friendly and professional and the food was great.
Well what can I say another fantastic holiday here with my family ,staff amazing as always ,acts were brilliant apart from a lady solo singer was really off key , entertainment staff were great with my younger sister with special needs ,for that it completely made her holiday and ours ,rooms great ,bathrooms with walk in showers perhaps in need of a little up date ,food fab something for everyone,very busy around pool as hotel full capacity but still always got a bed in the areas we wanted.😁
I want to give a fair review because we did have a nice week away just not the experience we hoped for. Everyone has a different expectation so want to cover as much as possible. Hotel is (approx 1 hour transfer from airport) in a bay of 2 Tui Blue and 2 other hotels (not including the direlict half built one on the hill). The approach to the hotel is rundown, has rubbish piled up against abandoned ship containers and the pathways are dirty, uneven and broken in places. Not a great first impression. Things to do around hotel In a nut shell...nothing There is a run down bar and resturant on the beach which looks dirty and uninviting with empty units either side. The walkway between the 2 Tui Blue hotels is filthy, broken tiles and in need of a desperate jet wash. Lots of public rubbish and cigarette ends. There are just 2 tourist shops and nothing else around which was dissapointing. There was also no nice walks as there are only roads in and out making you feel 'hemmed in'. Bus route at top of road on roundabout. Due to the road being closed between Taurito and Porto de Mogan its a 25 min journey by taxi approx €23. The small beach has volcanic sand offering lots of water sports with no life guard. It has an array of very sad looking chargable sunbeds and in general looks pretty uninviting....first time ever on holiday not wanted to go to a beach or sea. There is a public water park (which i knew about) between the 2 hotels but not that it blasts out music and public announcements everyday. Very intrusive. 0 points for location as no evening walks or beach stroll, outside facilities and beach appeal. Arriving at 23.30pm was warmly welcomed by reception who were effecient and friendly. Nice welcomed drinks on offer to. Late snacks were offered. Lobby large nicely decorated with floor to ceiling windows. Tui rep available everday. Shuttle bus available but usually busy. Only goes for a few hours. Our room on the 2nd floor was very large clean and the bed and pillows very comfortable. We did move rooms the next morning to higher up and further along as we were originally directly over the bar/main stage. Air Con in the room, was sufficient, (wouldn't want to test in height of season!) is an old 1 2 3 dial setting not digital. Please take all the other comments about lack of AC in this hotel seriously.....There is zero AC in public areas which makes it very uncomfortable during meals or sat in the bar in the evening. I see many replies from the hotel saying the AC struggled during "peak times". But no effort to bring in portable AC units or tower fans so the acknowledgment from hotel is meaningless without addressing the issues. We took hand held fans and couldn't have managed without them. Still overheated during meals. The furniture everywhere is fairly basic/solid/plastic with no soft furnishing/cushions. The food and drink available were really good, no complaints at all, clean restuarant, great presentation, lots of pork to accomodate the german visitors but also steak, fish and prawns. Lots of veggie and huge salad variety. Lunch had reduced offering served in the Taste Snack Bar offering hamburgers and hotdogs and a limited variety of hot and cold dishes with a bbq daily and table drinks service. Note that the pigeons are an issue there, swooping at plates and pooing on tables. We ate at the Cilinarium on my husband's birthday. Shame it overlooks the waterpark and also a little dissapointed they didn't acknowledge his day even though it was on the booking and confirmed with waiter on arrival. Bar/resturant staff lovely, service a little sparodic at times (we had issues getting a second drink most nights did feel staff favoured certain guests in the diningroom) but overall hard working and pleasant. Must mention the grumpy pool man! We were on our sunbeds at 18.10pm ( pool closes at 7pm) and he approached me asking if i was Spanish, when i said English, started to clap and wave his hands shooing us away and indicating he wanted us to get off the sun beds!...not a great experience. Plus everyone lay on the sunbeds at night watching the entertinment due to lack of seating so not sure what that was all about. Entertainment was better than most hotels ive been to, not neccessarily my thing, but it was varied and popular with other guests. The Pool and area is really small given how many rooms they have, they say 2 pools but it looks like it was one then bricked up under the bridge....shallow one side good for laying around, otherside good for swimming as deep. Sunbeds so tightly packed together so again felt hemmed in and on top of each other as you are practically shoulder to shoulder. Not in as bad state as other reviews suggest. Just weathered. A disabled pool hoist is installed which is a bonus. There is a lower area that have approx 30 loungers with toppers much nicer but limited space. There is a no reserve policy before 10am which works brilliantly. We hired a cabana with seaviews for €25 for the day which was really nice. That's also where you will find the beach access, beware not for anyone with slight mobility issues as very arroded and has many trip hazards. Other reviews have mentioned its due a refurb, it"s well overdue, i dont care about decor but maintenance is another issue. The grounds are really tired, pool missing tiles under foot, flaking paint, broken tiles on pathways, stone walls crimbling on places etc stained umbrellas, with no real greenery apparently the balconies used to have flowers in but are now the flower beds are boxed over. Level 1 where all the resturants pool bars etc looks tired and basic, no plushness or proper quiet areas. I know this sounds a negative review but we did have a good week away, meet some lovely people, ate good food, soaked up some sun. It's a lively hotel, noisy during day and night, zero romance though and not the standard in some areas you would expect from a Tui Blue 4 star.
Second time this year, it’s a lovely hotel adult only food excellent service excellent no trouble with getting a bed they have a very good system would highly recommend this hotel
