Gloria Palace Royal Hotel and Spa

Hotel Gloria Palace Royal & Spa, Gran Canaria – Review to anyone who's looking to book this Fab hotel. Stayed 27th July - 3rd August 2026.

We stayed in room 2314 and it was perfect for us. Right by reception and the stairs down to the restaurant and infinity pool. The room was huge, beds were really comfortable, and the views were to die for. We asked for a pool view that also gave a good look at the beach and they absolutely delivered.

Bathroom was massive – bathrobes and slippers, separate toilet, and a seperate huge family-sized shower (video attached on tiktok). The room had a mini kitchenette with coffee machine, kettle, microwave and fridge (bottles of water replaced daily). Free safe and towels changed every day. Only small improvements I’d suggest: a mirror by the vanity table and plugs by the bed.

The infinity pool is amazing – the beach views are stunning and so relaxing. There’s a little seated area in the water and jets that come on at different times during the day. Free spa access with sauna and steam room is a bonus, and the massages are excellent. The gym is big with a good range of machines compared to a lot of other hotels we’ve stayed in.

Daytime and evening entertainment was solid. Aqua aerobics, Zumba, aqua spin, darts, pool, bingo etc., kids’ painting and pool games activities, classy music or singing in the lobby in the evenings, plus a show and live music every night in the entertainment lounge. Waiters comes to your table to order drinks.

The guy who runs the daytime entertainment is mad (in the best way) – very funny, high energy, clearly loves his job, and that positive vibe is contagious.

Pool bar next to the infinity pool could do with more staff – the poor man was working his arse off. All the staff are friendly. Some things are included at the pool bar suxj as salad, pizza, burgers, chips and everything else is discounted and can be charged to your room.

The buffet food is tasty and standard all-inclusive quality. A lot of it is a bit mix-and-match so my plate usually ended up as a bit of a concoction, but I never went hungry. Wine, beer, water and soft drinks are included; cocktails aren’t available at the buffet unfortunately. Views from window area was a bonus. We go for breakfast and dinner early so our experience was a calm and relaxing one with the odd short que now and again for the freshly cooked meat or omelettes. We didn’t try the à la carte restaurants so can’t comment on that but it allways looked quiet.

There’s another quieter pool area at the top with Bali beds overlooking the beach, another bar (not all-inclusive food), and a fish-bowl style pool. The lifts down to the beach are there too. Very peaceful and not many kids – perfect if you want a quieter pool experience. It was a bit too quiet for us so we didn’t spend much time there. Fresh pool towels are available from 9am daily. Hotel is very chill so no one claims beds before 9am unless you sit on them. So no sunbed wars.

Amadoras beach (the local one) is stunning – clear, calm water, great for kids, lifeguard on duty, no currents or rips, and nicely protected. Plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. €20 for 3 sunbeds and an umbrella. There’s a lovely promenade that runs around the mountain to Puerto Rico. Tip: get a taxi to Mogán Mall shopping centre then walk downhill from there to Puerto Rico harbour and along the promenade to Amadoras – much easier and beautiful. Tipsy bee and steakhouse is good eatouts.in Puerto Rico.

A guy comes around the pool on Tuesdays to book trips. We did the Mogán market with dolphin boat trip – they picked us up outside the spar (across from hotel) and dropped us back. Mogán (Little Venice) is gorgeous with lots of stalls on Fridays, and the restaurants there are excellent. We saw so many dolphins – they came right up to the boat. We also did the aquarium ytip nooked with TUI and it’s a must, especially with children.

Overall we had a really good stay and would recommend it. It was a very relaxing holiday and very picturesque. Even the lobby as beautiful views.

Fantastic experience. Pool side entertainment was definitely the best part of the holiday! Food was excellent and the hotel was very clean. We’ll be going back next year.

Overall amazing hotel amazing staff and location.. only 1 negative…. Ordered room service as Mrs was not too well for few days and they charge €18 for room service! Plus whatever you order of course. Thinks that’s really bad and should not be anything like that.
