The hotel is situated about 4 km outside of the tourist centre of Puerto Rico and only 200 m from the nearest sandy beach. A bus station is only 150 m away. This air-conditioned hotel is spread over 5 floors and comprises a total of 197 rooms, including 64 suites and 4 wheelchair accessible rooms. Facilities include a lobby with reception desk, a lift and a currency exchange counter. Further amenities include a conference room, a bar and a restaurant with highchairs for children. All accommodation units are with standard features. Rooms come with either a balcony or a terrace. Leisure facilities include two swimming pools, a spa centre and a gym. Guests can also enjoy various sport options such as tennis, squash and golf. They can also enjoy a range of water sports options on the nearby beach.
Pamper yourself with a visit to the spa, which offers massages, body treatments and facials. You're sure to appreciate the recreational amenities, which include 2 outdoor swimming pools, a sauna and a fitness centre. Additional amenities at this hotel include complimentary wireless Internet access, babysitting (surcharge) and a hair salon.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
It saddens me to write this but feel like I have to write this review in the hope that things change at the Gloria Palace Royal if I was to return. I returned to this hotel after having a great experience last year when I was in Block 1. This year I was in block 2 . Cleaners work hard but unfortunately my room smelt of drains and damp. Floor wasn’t washed once. However bed changed twice in 10 days. The Food was a bit of a let down this year. Breakfast okay. However main meal in the evening was not so good. My partner had chicken which was raw. Thought it would be a one off but sadly not. My sister had fish which was undercooked an inedible. Therefore we had to just eat cold fish and meats the rest of the holiday and eat out in Amadores . Last year the food was lovely. Some of the staff are lovely. One waitress in the restaurant was rude .The Guy in Mirador bar in the afternoon and restaurant was lovely. He Works so hard. First impressions of the hotel and toilets downstairs are exceptionally clean. However the rooms are tired with chipped wood on edges, cracked Floor Tiles in the bathroom. Paint worn and very shabby. Would rate this as a 3 * now unfortunately. The hotel needs investment sadly if I was to return. Entertainment was painful to watch so went out most evenings. For the price we paid I think there are better Hotels in Gran Canaria

We love this hotel and will continue to come back every few years.
Beautiful infinity pool as usual and lovely sunbathing area at the top with various Bali beds which are included to use at no extra cost, unlike some hotels, which I love.
Food overall is good for an all inclusive and lovely views over the infinity pool. Breakfast is great, plant based milks, everything you could want at breakfast.
Lunch was mainly taken at the buffet restaurant and again mainly good, we used to eat at the snack bar but now it’s order off the menu which I preferred when you could go up and help yourself there.
Dinner was hit and miss, especially for me as I am lactose intolerant and some days could have very little. I would love the hotel to improve on this and consider dietary needs as standard more. The food is labelled but the only desserts I could have all week was fruit. As everything contained milk. For a person with a sweet tooth this was disappointing. At breakfast there were some little vegan cakes but they never put them out at lunch or dinner when you’re more likely to want them, which is odd. Sometimes sweets were put out too which I could have but again not each day. Please provide dessert for vegans and dairy free diets. The Indian night and Italian theme nights need improvement. No real curry which is odd and again not much I could eat. Italian night no tomato base pasta or no pizza without cheese so i couldn’t eat much those nights. However the Mexican and Asian nights were done very well and we both enjoyed these theme nights a lot. Waiter service was good and professional. Waiter service in the show room was also good as normal and waiters would remember your order and bring you refills. The shows were mainly good fun to watch. They don’t start until 930pm which left quite a bit of time in between dinner and I think the show would be better to start at 9pm.
Rooms as always were immaculate and of good size. The room cleaners were friendly and did a good job each day.
The hotel is kept very clean overall and all Staff courteous throughout.
We will definitely be back in a few years for our fourth stay but I would love if you could offer more dairy free food options and some desserts other than fruit to cater for this too.
Other than that an amazing stay as usual.
Due to health issues myself and husband could not go but my daughter went with her boyfriend said everything was perfect the room the staff entertainment they could not fault anything and had a wonderful holiday myself and husband will be coming next year and a big thank you to Omar Prieto at reception who by email sorted everything out for us his prompt responses organised everything for us at a difficult time ,
Having been to the Gloria Palace Royal 25 times since 2010 and thoroughly love this hotel, it pains me to say that on this occasion we were a little disappointed with our stay. The rooms as usual were immaculate and were given room 1503 which was on the top floor in block 1 which is what we requested. There was Cava and fresh fruit on arrival and for my birthday a bottle of Cava and a chocolate cake, these are the little things which make me come here for my birthday. We stayed BnB but did have 3 days all inclusive to break up the 17 night holiday, food was varied with lots of choice, on the 2nd night I didn’t like what was on offer in the restaurant so the manager arranged some steak for me which was appreciated. All the staff in the hotel are always friendly and extremely helpful. However, the upstairs pool is absolutely filthy, not once in 17 days did we see it being cleaned as part of a regular cleaning schedule, this is probably because you can not get any staff out of the downstairs pool as this was spotless and obviously the hotels pride and joy. There was green algae around the edge, plasters in there the whole time we were there and grit and dirt on the bottom. The pool did get a quick flick over after many guests did complain to reception. We also witnessed some questionable behaviour from some young couples on the sunbeds which did make my wife feel uncomfortable. Reserving of sunbeds does also need to be looked at, usually the pool guy will come every couple of days and whip off the towels if beds are unaccompanied before 9am, during this stay I heard it only happened once, and this lead to an 80year man being verbally abused by a gentleman who I understand was sneaking in his son, who was staying at another hotel, so he could eat and drink all inclusive on his card !!! However, will this stop me coming back … probably not … although this time I felt the hotel had gone down hill a bit, but the view and the staff will still win me over.
I have just come back from a 8 night stay as a solo female the hotel was a nice and clean itself the breakfast was lovely but the other meals were terrible. The day entertainment was brilliant but the night entertainment not so good most if the staff were friendly but I think they favored certain guests I asked if I could extend my. Check out as I had a late flight the reception were very regulated to let me but did eventually also as a solo travel it was hard at meal times I left two bags on my table and chairs when I returned to the table a German were sat there and did care my bags were there not happy I will not return to this hotel and will not recommend to family or friends
