We stayed here 3 years ago and always said we would come back, because of how much we enjoyed last time! From the minute we arrived to the minute we left, we absolutely loved it! Every single member of staff couldn’t do enough for us. We recognised a lot of them from the last time we were there and they honestly look so happy to be there! Everything in the hotel is absolutely spotless. The gardens, the pool area, the hotel, our room…. spotlessly clean! Our room (3104), was at the end on a corner, overlooking a residential area with views looking to Meloneres. It was such a large and comfortable space. Huge bathroom (with the most amazing shower)! The beds are honestly the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in! Cleaned and fresh towels every day, plus a turndown service in the evenings. A wonderful place to come back to after a very hot days sunbathing!! Food plentiful; lovely breakfast, and the evening meal had plenty of choice (I am vegetarian and there was lots to eat and all well labelled). The hotel is right by the dunes, which are just stunning. A shop just over the road was handy to stock up on water, etc. We walked to Meloneres one day over the well marked pathway on the dunes. Lovely place with nice shops and places to eat. (Tip: leave early if you are walking, because the dunes get extremely hot!) We used the local air conditioned bus to get to Puerto Mogan one of the days. The 32 got us straight there and only cost €4.15 each way. Great day out and very pretty! To sum our holiday up…. Absolutely perfect in every way, we will 100% be back! Thank you to all the staff for making it so special!
Just returned from a two‑week break with my wife. We last stayed here in 2023, and after rereading my previous review during this visit, I’d say around 95% of those comments still apply. The hotel continues to offer a strong experience, with a few small changes worth mentioning.
Check‑in was quick thanks to my wife completing the online process beforehand. However, it’s still disappointing that no welcome drink is offered—something you’d expect from a 5‑star hotel. With bottles of cava available every morning at breakfast, it seems a missed opportunity not to offer a glass on arrival. We were given a room close to the one we had last time, and reception acknowledged we were returning guests, which was a nice touch.
Rooms remain very good, though still no complimentary water or drinks. The safe is now free of charge, which is appreciated. The bed was comfortable, and we cleared the fridge to store our own drinks. Unfortunately, we discovered after 24 hours that it wasn’t working. We reported it via the app, and it was fixed by the time we returned from a day in the sun—though sadly too late to save the milk my wife had bought. TV options for UK travellers are limited; Sky News on Channel 20 is about the only familiar choice, with a few films available on nearby channels. Not a major issue, but compared with hotels in Tenerife and Lanzarote that offer BBC, ITV, Channel 4, etc., it feels lacking.
The pool is excellent—great temperature and consistently busy. Prime loungers go early, but there are plenty of good spots just a short distance away, so no need for early starts. Loungers now have added padding, which is firm but comfortable, though they do warm up in the sun. You’re given one pool towel each, but realistically you need two to cover the padding; ask for “cuatro” and they’ll happily provide them.
Food quality remains strong, with a good selection of meat and vegetarian dishes each night. I can be picky at times but rarely struggled. The Friday stroganoff is fantastic, as is the risotto. Male diners can now wear shorts at dinner—a very welcome change in the heat.
Staff were consistently pleasant, and no one passed without offering a friendly “hola.”
Overall, I wouldn’t hesitate to return. The hotel offers good value at times, maintains high standards, and enjoys a great location next to the dunes. The resort itself remains extremely quiet, but if you’re looking for relaxation, it’s ideal.
Excellent hotel with great facilities, stayed half board with great food on offer for our allergies and tastes. Easy walking distance to the tourist areas and the pool area was equally very nice. Only a short 4 day break for us bit the hotel made us wish we had booked longer this and of course our friends who we where with.😎
We had a fantastic stay at the RIU Palace Maspalomas and would happily give it five stars. The hotel is beautiful and very well maintained. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay, and the food and facilities were excellent. A special mention has to go to Mateo in the restaurant, who remembered us from previous visits. Whether it was breakfast or dinner, he always treated us with such warmth and enthusiasm that he genuinely made us fell special. That personal touch really does make a difference and was one of the highlights of our stay. Our room was always immaculate and the housekeeping team clearly work incredibly hard. The only small thing for us was that the early morning cleaning and evening towel service could sometimes feel a little frequent when we were trying to relax in the room. This is really just personal preference and certainly didn’t take away from our stay. Overall, we had another wonderful holiday at the RIU Palace Maspalomas and would definitely recommend it. We will happily return again and again
