This wonderful complex, surrounded by the natural landscape and the spectacular view of the sea of Playa del Ingles, is the perfect hotel for those vacationers who are looking for the balance between beauty and simplicity. It has an area of outdoor pool where guests can enjoy a wonderful sunbath in the sun loungers on the shore, or simply cool off in its always mild climate, surrounded by palm trees and green areas. The restaurant offers delicious food suitable for any age and very diverse, while to enjoy the nightlife the bar is available with its drinks menu. The rooms have a balcony to enjoy the paradisiacal views and are equipped with everything necessary to have a pleasant stay. Nearby is the town, where you can find shops, bars and restaurants to get to know the culture and make purchases and, just 40 minutes from the hotel, is the Gran Canaria airport.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
⭐ 1/5 – ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE.
I honestly don’t know how this hotel can justify the prices they charge. This was supposed to be a family holiday, but the accommodation was one of the worst I’ve experienced.
We booked and paid for a family room, but what we got was absolutely appalling. The room was tiny, the beds were ridiculously small, the TV looked like something from about 20 years ago, and the entire place felt cramped and dated. I’ve genuinely seen better jail cells.
And probably the most unbelievable part:
NO AIRCON.
Yes, you’re staying in GRAN CANARIA in AUGUST, and there is NO AIR CONDITIONING IN THE ROOM. Want some relief from the heat? They’ll happily CHARGE YOU FOR A FAN. I couldn’t believe it. For the amount this holiday cost, having to PAY EXTRA just to get a fan because there’s no air conditioning is ridiculous.
Then there’s the Wi-Fi. Again, something you’d expect to be standard nowadays, especially at a hotel charging these prices. Instead, they charge you for Wi-Fi PER DEVICE. Even after paying, it barely works! Mine wouldn’t even work properly in my room and seemed to only work in certain parts of the hotel. So you’re literally paying extra for Wi-Fi that you might not even be able to use where you’re staying.
The so-called “gym” is another joke. They actually CHARGE YOU to use it, despite there being barely anything in there. I wouldn’t even class it as a proper gym. Charging guests extra for that is honestly embarrassing.
Customer service didn’t exactly rescue the experience either. One woman on reception was extremely rude, with an attitude that made you feel like you were inconveniencing her just by being there.
We stayed self-catering, so I can’t fairly comment on the quality of the food because we didn’t eat there. However, anyone thinking about going all-inclusive should know what happens on your departure day.
If you have a late flight, don’t expect your all-inclusive package to continue after checkout. At 11AM THEY CUT YOUR WRISTBAND OFF, and that’s it. Your all-inclusive benefits are finished, even if your flight isn’t until much later and you’re still sitting around the hotel for the rest of the day. At other hotels I’ve stayed at, guests with late flights have been allowed to continue using their all-inclusive benefits for the day. Not here.
And if you’re hoping for a relaxing holiday and a decent night’s sleep, think again. There were a lot of loud and rowdy guests, particularly at night. If peace and quiet is important to you, GOOD LUCK.
So to sum it up:
NO AIRCON. PAY EXTRA FOR A FAN. PAY PER DEVICE FOR WI-FI THAT BARELY WORKS. PAY EXTRA FOR A “GYM” WITH ALMOST NOTHING IN IT. TINY FAMILY ROOM AND SMALL BEDS. RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE. ALL-INCLUSIVE WRISTBAND CUT OFF AT 11AM ON CHECKOUT DAY. LOUD, ROWDY NIGHTS.
And after all that, this holiday wasn’t cheap either.
I genuinely cannot understand where the value for money is supposed to be. I would NEVER stay here again, and I certainly wouldn’t recommend it to family or friends.
Do yourself a favour: save your money, save yourself the disappointment and book somewhere else in Gran Canaria.
DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!! No air con. No customer service. The reception staff are awful! They do not care. We are a family of 5 and they gave us 2 rooms at opposite ends of the hotel. The music from the bars outside is banging until 3am. The staff service is disgusting!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! We have never experienced anything anywhere near this bad
The hotel and location are great as you can get to both lively and quiet places in no time, depending on what you want to do. Apartments were clean and maintained well for the age. Tye food was good, as long as you like fresh, healthy food. The desk staff were great but the bar staff, were the worst I have ever met. They hate English people and even though our family tried to speak nothing but spanish, but they still were rude, blunt, scowled at you, no manners etc. The old lady with the ponytail is the worst, probably bitter she never made it to wherever she wanted to be in life and is jealous of the holiday makers.
I'm writing this review as this hotel is underrated and gets a lot of stick from visitors Read bellow it's as honest as you can get.
Location is 10 mins walk to a beach but it's down a huge set of stairs hard to get down with beach stuff with kids. There is a ramp but it's still hard. You are 30 mins walk to the best beaches. Close to a supermarket and the Irish bars which play loud music till 3am. If you are on that side of the hotel don't expect to sleep. There is a great kids pool next to another large family pool. Two other pools on the other side of the hotel which I never went to. Pools a nice and well maintained with plenty of sun loungers. Life guards walk between them both and in-between the pool bar.
Food is hit and miss. Breakfasts are excellent and so are lunches with plenty of selection. Dinner was good 3 nights and poor the other 4. To much fish and rice. One night there was 90% vegetarian food.
Rooms are clean and well maintained but as advertised there is no air conditioning which is a real problem especially when you have kids. You can hire a portable unit but you need 2 in a one bedroom apartment to make any difference. The sofa bed was incredibly uncomfortable and caused many sleepless nights.
The evening entertainment falls under the category so bad they are good. The Abba tribute was good.
My biggest complaint was we arrived at 11pm on a Thursday missing dinner. They left a couple of sandwiches, 2 apples and 2 waters in the fridge for us. The sandwiches were really bad and we couldn't eat then. The following Thursday when we left the coach wasn't picking us up until 8pm but when we bought our luggage down at 10am they cut our wrist bands of meaning we had to pay for 2 meals for 4 people and drinks all day. So we only got 6 days all inclusive. Iv been going all inclusive for 30 years and this is the first time this has ever happened.
So in short if you have read this review is you pay for what you get. It's clean and friendly food ok, entertainment ok and location ok.
Ok so where do I start will try and break this down simply, I had many issues personally but just wanted to give a view that everyone needs to consider.
I wouldn’t say don’t go to this hotel but I’d say take everything into consideration.
Also please bear in mind 70% of the hotel people live here so it’s very much taken over by them. They haven’t been an issue for me but it changes the atmosphere.
Negative things to consider- General-
Room-
Location - Very run down, noisey and I think you have to be a certain type of person to like this place. The bars opposite are ok depending on what you like. Yumbo which is 15 mins walk away do your research, isn’t somewhere I personally like to go but others may do. important to research on YouTube as it is what is appears. Not child friendly in the slightest.
Maspalomas is much nicer and very close so I’d recommend staying that end rather then playa del Inglés.
Positives… drum roll…
Yeah that’s about all. I’m English very normal and live on a council estate so just trying to build a picture of what type of person I am.
It’s a shame because this hotel has a lot of potential a lick of paint on the outside, abit of entertainment throughout the day and night and a few pretty lights it would be much more inviting. It sticks out like a sore thumb down the street (street view it don’t look on the online images).
Like I said before I wouldn’t say don’t come here if just be very mindful of the above because what I’m saying is totally legit.
Would I could back here again? No Would I recommend it to a friend? Only one because he’d like the yumbo.
