- HD Parque Cristobal Gran Canaria

Unique in its kind, privileged with the sunny weather all year round, a tropical area with access to green areas, lovely natural landscapes and also located in the center of Playa del Ingles; this resort enjoys the amenities of nature in combination with modern and familiar facilities. Large and comfortable bungalows where the family can enjoy all the amenities of an excellent resting place, tree-lined gardens for long walks, as well as the outdoor pool area that adapts to the winter season, so guests never stop enjoying a dip. The spa center is conditioned for relaxation and well-being, with trained staff and adequate equipment, in addition to sports areas where exercise can be done outdoors or in the gym. Near the hotel is conveniently the Shopping Center less than a kilometer away, where it is posible to access to the restaurants of typical or international food, enjoy bars and nightclubs to live lovely nights in Gran Canaria.
The hotel is truly lovely, with a bungalow set-up which is refreshingly different from high hotel buildings. This gives the feeling of a very relaxed space. Everywhere is well maintained and really clean. I do agree with others that the beds are really hard and not particularly comfortable.
There are 2 separate pool areas, a family pool and a completely separate area aimed at younger children with small slides. Plenty of sun loungers.
I would like to highlight the entertainment staff, they are wonderful, really enthusiastic and helpful. The team put on a number of varied daytime activities for children- archery, darts, football, waterpolo etc. There are plenty of options for adults too. The ‘waves’ show around the pool was a spectacular surprise. Whilst my children were too old to enjoy it, the weekly little open air cinema was a really nice touch for little ones.
Like other reviews, the evening entertainment was also an issue for us, the team try their best, but there is a lack of imagination and some of the external entertainers were quite poor. Our major issue was that we rarely had a seat, drinking out of plastic cups, sat on a sun lounger during the evening was not good and no other options available …opening the outside restaurant seating during this time would have really helped the over- crowding!
Outside of the hotel, the surrounding area was not what we expected, the yumbo centre with signs for sex shops and massage was not great when walking around with families, so something to be aware of if you walk in that direction- but there are some lovely restaurants further towards the coast if you want to leave the hotel. There is a good supermarket attached to the side of the complex.
I have to say that the food at HD was really, really good, generally warm (this is an all inclusive buffet after all), varied and tasty- we never struggled to find something for all 4 of us and the drinks options were fair. Breakfast and lunch were particularly good!
Overall we really enjoyed ourselves during the day, the hotel facilities are good and the staff are super friendly, efficient and helpful- they make the hotel what it is.
Our children are getting older and so I don’t think it will suit us moving forward but I can’t fault this hotel, if you have younger children, it is a safe and friendly environment (as long as you don’t mind an early night!)
We had a fab holiday at HD Parque Cristóbal. The staff were all very polite and helpful, food selection was great most evenings (lots to keep my 12 & 11 yr olds full!) and had a good variety of drinks available throughout the day and evening (though more selection for kids an ice creams in the day would be an added bonus.) We didn’t go ‘Emblem’ so can’t comment on that. The hotel is a little out of the main town, but reception are very helpful and knowledgeable about where to go and costs etc. The Entertainment Team were hard working, especially in the heat during the day, and the evening was varied and easy to get a seat at. Might have been nice to have an alternative at the other pool bar area and a lights at the football area for the older ones of an evening. There were a couple of highlights for me. One was the accommodation - it’s great for families, the boys’ bedroom was fab and the bungalow itself was spacious with great air con (I was too cold sometimes!) All the bungalows had little patios outside with a table, chairs and sun loungers and at the back was a little area to hang wet clothes. We had a good location too, which made it easy for the boys to have some independence. Two was the pool / sun loungers - there was never a race to get beds, yes people put towels out, but it was never stupid o/clock, there was no animosity, staff put extra out if needed, and because of the two separate pools and each bungalow having their own loungers , it was never an issue - and that’s a big thing for me when looking at hotels to book… I do not want to pay thousands of pounds to get into wars about lying down in the sun! All in all I would definitely recommend - it might not be a 5 star resort, but the hotel it is VERY good value for money and we had a lovely week there.
10 days here. All rooms are bungalows, so nice for a change. Lots of storage , v spacious. Nice bathroom with towels changed 6x a week- Only negative mattresses way too hard.
Food- I seriously cannot believe some people have complained about the food we found it absolutely perfect. There was so much choice. It was ridiculous, yes if all you eat is burger and chips you may struggle but we thoroughly enjoyed every meal from breakfast lunch and dinner. Wine was so good. As were all the alcoholic drinks..
There are two main pools, one more geared up for young families. As always, some idiots get up early to put towels down., but you could still get a lounger after 930 and there was always a pile if you wanted to use them, lots of brollies. Pools did get v busy but what can you expect is a school holiday holidays?!
Only daytime activity we joined in with was Aqua gym which was really good and fun. Just wished they did it every day..
Evening entertainment was pretty dire and as others have mentioned very little seating area but not sure there is anything ithe hotel can do about it.
Gran Canaria sadly is not as lovely/pretty as it was years ago quite rundown.
All in all a fab break perfect for young families. X
Read all the reviews, sounded great. What for... a glorified Butlins. In fact that would be doing Butlins a dis-service. I have never ever in all my years been to an All Inclusive hotel that you can't even sit at a bar in the evening and enjoy your all inclusive! About 20 tables to accommodate the whole complex is unacceptable. Dozens of people having to resort to sitting on sunbeds between 7 -10 pm as there is no where else to go. I don't want to watch the crap entertainment, just sit quietly (as a family) for a few drinks and get what I paid for. Why have I upgraded to Emblem? Ooh? It must have been for the free toothbrush and miniature shampoo etc in our room. At least the mini bar is restocked daily. And I appreciate its the school holidays, but it doesn't even feel that busy. Daytime, fine. Breakfast nice. Food acceptable. Evening utter disgrace. Spent half the money elsewhere for a much better experience. I've still got over a week left.. may as well have done self catering. Or maybe ill just sit on the floor...
Good morning. We had the best experience on this vacation. Fantastic team of Staff in EMBLEM - Antonio, Aco & Diana and all they were always smiling and just so much elegant. The reception is great let me name Leti who was fantastic.
We have been coming for many years to HD Parque Cristóbal Gran Canaria. This was our best visit by far. The food was excellent all days something new. Simply the best. We chose to have Premier Suites EMBLEM AI and it was so worth all. The cleaning was top fantastic. I could not been happier with the great employees that came to clean so well for us.
Thank you HD as the resort is always on TOP! We look forward to visit again.
Enjoy!
