The Abora Continental by Lopesan Hotels is highly recommended for those who want the sea close-by and a comfortable setting. Of particular note are the panoramic views of the mountain, of the garden and of the swimming pool. The 383 rooms offer customers a functional and pleasant environment. It has everything parents need to rest and to entertain young children. During the warmer months of the year, guests can use the outdoor swimming pools.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
How the hell TUI rate the hotel as 4T I’ll never know, official rating 3*, that’s just about right. When we arrived we were on the first floor overlooking what can be described as a builders yard, yes TUI did mention in small print they were almost finished replacing the pavement around the hotel, what they didn’t say was the shops below the hotel were empty and work being carried out on the empty units( I have pictures of a workman on a platform drilling into one of the empty units. We could also hear load drilling in the reception area of the hotel( also have a video recording). To be fair to the hotel management they moved further away from the building work, although we could still hear noise from the new room. Another major issue is the pool we used was filthy, there looked like mould and algae, although we can’t be sure without testing. The water was also cloudy, it seemed as though they weren’t using enough chemicals to keep the pool clean. We informed TUI rep of these Major issues and requested a hotel move. She reported the pool issue to the management of the hotel and seemed concerned enough to report it to TUI to get a health and safety inspection. The next few days we saw the pool maintenance man around the pool area. Within a few days the pool water was much clearer but there was still what look like mould and algae in the pool, several people slipped on the wet tiles throughout the week, one person unfortunately had to go to hospital, after that there were more slippery when wet signs around the pool area. The entertainment staff work tirelessly but unless you join in activities during the day, but the evening entertainment is horrendous. Bar staff are really slow big queues in the evening for drinks. Food was hot but if you don’t like pork or fish you’ll struggle to find something to eat. I would not recommend this hotel.
A very good place, good atmosphere and entertainment is very fun and interactive getting everyone involved. Samuele specifically was incredible with everyone and great energy
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! Everything was well taken care of, and the hotel was clean and well maintained. The animation team was amazing and made our holiday even more enjoyable. A special mention goes to Monica, who was absolutely fantastic! She was very friendly, enthusiastic, and professional, She made everyone feel welcome and brought so much positive energy to the activities. Thank you, Monica, and the entire animation team, for making our holiday so special. We would definitely recommend this hotel!
The hotel itself is lovely, food was very good plenty of variety, clean in all areas, location good. Couple of downsides though 1 . Lift playing up in floor 3 and 4 days still not fixed 2 . This is a none smoking hotel ,so if your a smoker not ideal 3 . No inflatables in the pool allowed 4 .sunbed towel police was a little extreme, put tickets on your sun lounger even when you ho for lunch for any longer than 30 mins With this in mind I would not go again too many rules and regulations
We had a brilliant 5-night stay here and would definitely recommend it!
We paid to upgrade our room to the adults-only area and for us it was 100% worth the extra. We had a lovely room with a great view, and having the pool towels included with the upgrade was a bonus too.
The reception staff were really friendly and helpful, and communication was really easy. We had absolutely no problems speaking to anyone in English.
One of our favourite things was definitely the 24/7 self-service drinks and snack station – such a good idea! The drinks set-up in the main buffet restaurant was brilliant too. There were several stations, so even when it was busy you could easily grab a coffee, beer, wine or soft drink without queuing forever.
The food was really good. Obviously it’s an all-inclusive buffet, so you know the style of food you’re getting, but there was always plenty of choice and we always found something we enjoyed.
The pool area could get busy at times, but we pretty much always managed to find a sunbed somewhere and the beds themselves were in good condition. A few areas around the hotel could probably do with a little bit of TLC and a lick of paint, but nothing that affected our holiday at all.
We travelled without children so can’t really comment on the kids’ entertainment, but we did see the animation team doing plenty of activities with them. We also didn’t have any food allergies in our party, so can’t comment on how well allergies or dietary requirements are catered for.
Location-wise, it was brilliant. The beach is literally just down the road, taxis are available right outside, there’s a bus stop nearby and plenty of shops, bars and places to explore within a 5–10 minute walk. We even walked across to the Maspalomas dunes, which was absolutely doable – although we did treat ourselves to a taxi back! 😂
Overall, a great hotel, brilliant location and really good value for what we paid. We had such a lovely break and would happily stay again. ☀️🍹🏖️
