Fabulous hotel. Beautiful gardens and lovely pools. Room had a very cosy vibe. We were bed and breakfast and were able to enjoy the gorgeous restaurants in the very pretty town of Peurto Mogan. Breakfast everything you could want. We will return!!
We loved this hotel and hope to go back. Stunning gardens and pools. The breakfast buffet was brilliant, so much choice and the staff were excellent. We stayed bed and breakfast which was perfect as I'm not a fan of a buffet dinner. We loved strolling down to the marina and harbour, there are many places to eat, all reasonable, that we enjoyed. The resort of Port Mogan is a little paradise, very pretty and not too big. We enjoyed the archaeological walk from the hotel, fascinating history! The library in the hotel was a grest discovery, maybe larger signage or room information would be helpful. Agree that the showers need upgrading but our room was good. On arriving late we loved the glass of fizz and a picnic supper to take to our room, very thoughtful after a long journey. The pools were lovely and we enjoyed the food at the bar. A wonderful holiday, thank you to all the staff and hope to be back!!
The staff here at this hotel are always very friendly and polite. My wife had a fall and damaged her ankle ligaments within 2 days of our arrival. The staff were extremely supportive, providing a wheelchair for her use, and an additional fridge so that her cold compress bandage could remain frozen. Particular thanks goes to Serena , who works in PR at the hotel who went out her way to help us and answer our queries. Our cleaner Antonia Valencia also deserves special mention.
Just returned from a lovely 2 weeks at this wonderful hotel. The staff were all amazing, initially Ana @ reception when we arrived, her happy face made us so welcome!! My husband has Coeliac & in the dining room, Serena went over & above looking after us & the chef Juan Luis was an absolute wonder catering for his desserts, couldn’t do enough for us!! It is a perfectly located hotel, 7-10 min walk into Puerto Mogan, a calm stunning harbour town, would thoroughly recommend a stay here!
We stayed for a week and it was wonderful. The location is good, perhaps a 40 min drive along the motorway from the airport but is mostly straight without winding mountain roads. We had a private transfer which is always money well spent for this distance I think. The hotel grounds cover a long area which is perhaps something to consider when choosing a room - we stayed in a junior suite which was a good 250-350m from reception and the main restaurant - there are ramps and it's a only gentle incline so if you're fit and able it will not trouble you in the slightest but if that concerns you or you have little ones that would struggle then ensure you ask to stay around the main building. We found it very quiet and relaxing. The grounds are wonderful with the many plants making any walk very pleasant - even after a week we were still noticing new things and there was plenty we didn't see. The main pool and surroundings are fabulous - it's not just a mass of sunbeds everywhere - the grounds are laid out so that there are little 'areas' that break up the space and it makes it feel very private and secluded considering how much space there is. We never had any issues getting sunbeds and towels. There is a whole other pool we didn't even see - I believe one is a 'quieter' one and the other perhaps more 'family' - despite being firmly in the 'family' camp ourselves we certainly didn't have issues with the noise at our pool and there were plenty of people without young children happily using it too. The small children's pool is perfect for the 3-5 years as it's a constant 50cm depth, has an unobstructed view, somewhat secluded from other areas and has showers and toilets close by. The local town (a ten min walk) has some lovely restaurants although do your research as some do have some mixed reviews as you might expect in a tourist heavy area. It feels very safe to wander. We didn't 'do' the beach although did take the glass bottom ferry along the coast 35min to Puerto Rico - we didn't see much of Puerto Rico but the beach is nice and sandy and very calm as it is very sheltered similar to Mogan. Food at the buffet was varied and of a good standard. One thing to note is that dinner is done in two sittings and you will have the same table throughout - so make sure you are happy with your table and the time you choose. The sittings aren't super long so if you have kids and don't arrive at the start time you might feel rushed.
