What a fantastic hotel . Everything was great . Bar staff in the entertainment were the best , never waited for drinks even though at times they were really busy , always served with a smile .. well done to all of them . Nearly every staff member were fantastic . Hotel was really clean , the gardens were beautiful . Never had trouble getting a sun bed as long as you weren’t worried where you sat . Food was good , always loads to choose from . Steak restaurant and Asian restaurant good , well worth visiting . From beginning to end we had a wonderful time . The one issue we had was people vaping while watching the evening entertainment . One person even vaping at breakfast . Very annoying . Please address this issue as not pleasant when near them .. all in all what a great holiday . Highly recommended , thank you to every member of staff for making our holiday the best one we have ever had . Keep doing what you are doing . We will be back …..
Second stay here, had a garden view room 3134 having stayed in 8533 I think it was the previous year, no preference to either in all honesty.
Room was lovely, staff were lovely, entertainment team were exceptional.
I did find the food repetitive in the main restaurant but thats my own fault for not going to other ones. We went to the steakhouse once and the Italian once, should have gone more.
All in all it was great and already booked for next September
This hotel is top.notch. Everything bar entertainment was perfect. Beautiful grounds and gardens which provides an oasis of calm. Very large pool area with lots of activities going on. Activities laid on throughout the day.
Room was slightly small compared to others I have stayed in but I was there solo so no problems for me. My room was on the the second floor facing the side of the stage area so facing a break wall not a deal bracket for me as I was only there a few nights I would have asked to change if there for any longer.
Wonderfull infinity pool with amazing views over the beach walkway. Great roof terrace also to ger maximum sun. Sunbeds are everywhere no chance of never getting a sunbed here.
Food and drinks were as I would expect of Riu having stayed at a few other RIU's in the past. Great cocktails, excellent snack bar.
I had such a lovely stay here and would definitely return. No problems at all as a solo traveller.
I also stayed at the Abora Buenventura during my visit to Gran Canaira and this was also a nice hotel but cant be compared to this hotel, as in my opinion its far superior but that also reflects the quite expensive price point to stay here.
Just returned from Riu Grand Canaria after 14 nights. We return every year to Grand Canaria either staying at the Riu Palace or one of the Lopestans. We decided to try here after the great reviews and regretted our decision as soon as we arrived.

I can see a family with young children or teenagers would love it here. For us it was going from 5* next door to a 3*. Would not recommend it and would definitely not return.
Our 2nd visit to this hotel. By far our favourite ever. We are a family of five - now all adult. I’ve just spent two weeks here, and it’s paradise for us. I think during those two weeks I may have spent an hour a day on a lounger tops, as the ongoing daily entertainment is amazing. I’ve played Shuffleboard, water volleyball, the daily crazy game, to name but a few, with other people from other countries who all manage to communicate and have great fun. Made all the more special by the super enthusiastic entertainment team who really get involved and make everything fun. They even remembered us from the previous year. So good to see the same staff. The party nights are amazing. The 24 hour sports bar is chill and a lovely place to sit for a night cap / snack if you’re feeling a little peckish. The pools are just lovely and yes the “premium” spots are taken by super early risers but it isn’t at all necessary as there are always lots of spare loungers in other areas whatever the time may be. The rooms we had were great, clean and great to see more bottled water in the mini fridge this year. Lots of storage and spacious bathrooms. The food is just fabulous. We are a family of vegan, vegetarians and meat eaters and everybody was impressed with the selection. The speciality restaurants are amazing - we tried a couple and again excellent. We will definitely be returning again next year and I can’t wait. The entertainment team here really make it super special and there is always something going on. Thank you Riu Gran Canaria.
