Lopesan Villa del Conde Resort and Thalasso

This hotel and facilities are incredibly good, the booking was extremely easy. The personnel at reception were very polite and answered any questions you asked , we were a late book in as well there were 4 members of staff seeing us , over particularly enjoyable experience at the start. The room was very big , overlooked the one of the pools and above the buffet area (you would know it was there), there are 4 different members in our party and we asked to be near each other , we were 1,2,3,4 incredibly good. The pool areas were very clean , loads of beds free, no saving beds here. We stayed at the quiet pool quite a bit, we visited the main one and salt water one as well all genuinely nice. Right on the sea front as well you can just walk out the back and down the road to shops if you want to just 5 mins away. We stayed half board the food was amazing, everything you could want in the morning and evening . Very clean , loads of room no trouble getting seated. What they could do with is having water foundations put around the hotel, as you had to pay for water. Also, one other small matter nothing to do with this hotel , but a sister one I visited for a meal which was in my booking, a water dropped a glass it shattered everywhere and cut my foot, I went to one side this was a bit embarrassing and I tried to laugh it off. They helped clean my foot but there was till glass around , ruined my meal and then I was charged for the drinks and food for the people who were not half board in our group. I would have thought as a goodwill gesture they might have wiped one part of the bill off, but no?

We are quite disappointed by this hotel, being part of the Lopesan brand we through it would be much better than it is. It has beautiful grounds and has the potential to be amazing but it has numerous significant drawbacks.

• We arrived late and there was no help to our room with our luggage nor to even locate it.
• When we arrived our bedding was wet and there was signs of mould on the walls. We reported this. They came the following day and painted over it.
• The rooms have zero soundproofing. We have been woken up every single night by loud and aggressive people in the corridors which leaves our 8 year old quite scared.
• Late checkout was promised pre-arrival but not available when actually here.
• You cannot take drinks between venues which seems truly bizzare given it’s all purchased from the same company / menu.
• Breakfast and Dinner are like the Wild West. There is a huge choice but the layout is terrible promoting people walking all over the place. You are also caged in behind glass rather than enjoying the views / area.
• Parking is difficult to say the least.
• Staff have been consistently grumpy and not very friendly at all.

We’ve done our best to make the most of it and not spend our whole holiday moaning but we can’t help but feel this is not a 5 star hotel, maybe a 3/4 in terms of service.

Quite disappointed.

Wonderful hotel, very elegant, beautiful room, specious, bright and clean. Great restaurants, pools and other facilities. Especially the quiet area pool was to our taste, very nice retreat spot for couples without children. Very kind and service minded staff, ready to help at anytime made us feel like home. Missed a bit the gift shop and the bar at 3rd floor which were both closed during our stay, otherwise everything perfect.
