Simply the best
The hotel is the best one on Gran Canaria. It was our third stay although in the past we very rarely stayed in a hotel more than once or twice. The reason for coming back is a very rare combination of amazing location, weather guarantee, convenient transport from the airport, fantastic food, amazing pools and service. What we particularly enjoy is the extensive selection of activities. Our kids love the Panchi club (big thank you to Natasha this year!). I go to the fitness classes and cannot imagine them without Janice who combines being an amazing instructor and entertainer (you made my day almost every day, Janice!). Last but not least, we all enjoyed being greeted to the restaurant by Ricky. There are people who have been visiting this hotel for many years. Maybe we will become those guests because despite just having returned from our holidays, I would very much look forward to meeting Natasha, Janice and Rick next year. Hope to see you all again! To Costa Meloneras Management - the hotel has maintained the same very high level for three years in a row - please continue the great job.
Awful service
Wow this place has gone downhill.
Rude staff, literally can’t get served a drink, and no one seems to care!!
Day 3 being here, complained in Day 1 and heard nothing from mgt, and it’s just gone downhill since!!

Family holiday
Great location, relaxing location, had a suite which had a partial sea view. Was with wife and two children aged 11 and 13 who shared a double sofa bed. Rooms were clean and spacious although my wife felt there should have been a mirror in the main bedroom. Hotel had plenty of pools to choose from, although it was extremely busy and despite best efforts of staff, sun loungers were being "reserved" from early morning. There is a small supermarket on site which I thought was reasonably priced as were the hotel bars. We stayed B&B and we found there was plenty of choice and everything was fresh. Overall it's a lovely hotel and we would stay here again

Very disappointing experience for a 5 star
Very disappointing experience for a 5-star hotel.
Unfortunately, our stay at Lopesan was far from what we expected. We experienced a lot of noise during our stay and reported it to the hotel. They offered us another room, but it was on a lower floor and in a much less desirable location. This was not really an appropriate solution, and no other alternative was offered. In the end, we stayed in our original room, which was very disappointing considering the standard and price of a 5-star hotel.
We were also disappointed by the lack of any gesture or special treatment following this issue. We were not offered any compensation or even a discount for a future stay, while friends who were travelling with us received a discount.
More generally, the hotel is extremely noisy, with many children around the pool areas. The situation with the sun loungers is also quite frustrating: guests reserve loungers as early as 8 a.m., and the hotel seems to do very little to prevent this “sunbed war”.
If you are not staying on an all-inclusive basis, the prices of drinks and other consumptions are also excessively high. There is no direct access to the beach, which is another drawback.
Finally, we found most of the staff rather unfriendly and impersonal. We often felt more like a room number than valued guests.
Overall, we expected a much higher level of service from a 5-star hotel. If you are travelling as a couple or mainly with adults, I would personally recommend choosing another property.
