Caybech Meloneras is located in Meloneras, one of the most popular tourist areas of Gran Canaria: a privileged area known around the world for its exceptional climate. The nearest beach is around 300 metres away where you can enjoy a refeshing bath in the sea . Each Bungalow has a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom, sofa bed in the living room and a comfortable terrace with chairs and sunloungers to have a nice stay. Sports lovers can also enjoy our fantastic paddle court, minigolf area or ping-pong tables.Caybeach Meloneras also offers an special area for children and relaxing swimming pools.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
The rooms are quite nice and clean, we'd upgraded to a premium bungalow which was lovely. The staff on reception are lovely and very accommodating, however the rest of the staff not so much.
The hotel itself is running alive with cockroaches, they are everywhere and they even come into the rooms. There is absolutely no entertainment, not even music in the pool areas so there is no atmosphere whatsoever.
They are very strict with the rules, absolutely no inflatables in the pool, not even a ball to play with. No ashtrays around the pool, if they see you with one they will remove it and replace it with a plastic cup. You are not allowed to drink drinks or snacks from the hotel shop in the seating area by the pool. The snacks at the pool bar are very limited and not nice at all. People that order the food normally return it. The breakfast is very limited. They also don't do lunch or dinner so definitely don't do all inclusive. The main pool is definitely not heated and quite dangerous in parts. Another guest was holding to handrail to walk down the steps into the pool and the handrail snapped off and the guest fell down the steps into the pool and the lifeguard was more concerned with the rail than if the guest had hurt himself. The grate (pool guttering) that goes around the whole pool is not safe, my son stepped on it going into the pool and feel through it, again nothing was done. The paint around the edge of the pool is all cracked and peeling off.
The majority or the sunbeds are broken and unusable but left around the pool so you need to check multiple beds before being able to find usable ones. A lot of the sun parasols are also broken and only half work. If you want to use their pool towels, they are €10 deposit each towel and if you want to change them for clean towels they charge you €1 each towel. You also have to pay a deposit for the Aircon and the TV remote. I love Gran Caneria but would NEVER come back to this hotel. Which is a shame because I absolutely love the Ceybeach in Lanzarote.
I had a lovely stay in this hotel as a solo traveller. The room was very spacious with plenty of storage . Pool area is lovely . Food of a great standard with plenty of choice. There isn't much around the hotel but plenty of shops and restaurants within about a 15 minute walk.
I cannot thank caybeach customer care enough 5 stars We are due to fly out in 2 days I had requested room locations due to medical needs and had a bit of mix up with streets and caybeach staff fixed it for us without hesitation . I will update once the holiday is over but a massive e 5 stars to customer service office team . Tracy
Have stayed at the Caybeach many times before. Solid value, nice and calm, nothing fancy. Arrived earlier this week, booked a premier room with a bit more outside space. First impressions fine. However, there is a major construction project taking place at the Lopesan Villas across the road, have stayed there previously. The pneumatic hammering commences at 9am and ends at 7pm, with a break 2-3. The noise is intolerable. Spoke with reception, “hotel is full”, no option to move rooms, not overly helpful. Eventually got a hotel change via Jet2 after multiple phone calls. People can make their own decisions but I would recommend extreme caution. I have videos but struggling to upload.
Just returned from a 7 day half board stay via Jet2 holidays.
The food is delicious with a variety of choice at breakfast and evening meal. The restaurant staff are so friendly and work incredibly hard to ensure everyone has an enjoyable experience.
The communal facilities are good and clean with the pool checked at least 3 times a day for quality and safety.
All staff that we came into contact with were friendly from cleaners, maintenance and lifeguards.
They offer activities for children 5 days a week and evening entertainment every night apart from Saturday. This is mainly tribute acts.
12 euro to hire the safe in the room with a 12 euro deposit which is reasonable along with a reasonably priced mini supermarket.
The room was clean and the cleaner attends everyday apart from Sundays and Wednesdays but didn’t always change the towels only to empty the bin. Some of the furnishing could be refreshed such as the net curtains being stained and grubby. We had 3 clean sets of towels during our stay.
Jet2 stated that a hotel is being built opposite which it is and is in the early stage of breaking the ground, drilling the rock and concrete for the foundations. The construction work is Monday to Friday and starts at about 9ish through to 6ish with a few hours break in the afternoon.
Also Jet2 should make customers aware that at evening meal drinks aren’t provided and these have to purchased. These are reasonably priced.
Check out is at 12 noon and with a night flight we were able to put our cases in a designated room at reception and use the showers in the gym.
Would I go again? definitely and also half board most definitely. Outside of the hotel restaurant options are limited and expensive along with the height of holiday season you would struggle to get a table unless booked in advance.
