After a holiday at Seaside Grand Residencia, I try to analyse why I keep going back to this exceptional hotel. It is an oasis of perfection in an otherwise standard tourist island. What makes the difference? In my view, it is the fully professional approach to service and hospitality. The efficiency, helpfulness and kindness of the staff is exemplary. The management team led by Mr Heitzig, Mrs Marten and their juniors are invariably present and available and staff training is obviously given high importance. On top of all of that, the food is particularly delicious and varied. I cannot praise SGR highly enough and having travelled the World for business and pleasure, it remains my favourite hotel. I look forward to my next visit.
Thank you once again Grand Residencia for a lovely holiday. Everything was as we expected. Apart from the cleanliness and the wonderful food what we feel makes it special are the staff who are so friendly and almost of them have been here a long time and nothing seems too much trouble for them . It is also nice to recognise so many guests who keep coming year after year. We missed Eros and Pili this time who were on a well deserved holiday. Whatever you are doing, it works. It is truly a holiday which for us is total relaxation and an opportunity to recharge our batteries! We have already booked to return in February and September next year . Thank you
Where do we start with a review of this hotel? We looked at the reviews before booking and were surprised to find such a consistent lack of low scores. Having now spent a week here, it’s not difficult to understand why everyone speaks so highly of the hotel and its staff.
The staff were all exceptionally friendly, always greeting you with a good morning or good evening and making you feel welcome throughout your stay. I wouldn’t wish to pick out anyone for particular praise, as they all worked to such a consistently high standard.
The rooms and hotel grounds were maintained to an excellent standard, and there was no part of the hotel that felt dated or tired. In fact, the level of maintenance seemed to be such that things were refreshed before they ever had the chance to look worn. It was clear that a great deal of pride is taken in maintaining the hotel and its surroundings.
The food was equally impressive. Breakfast was served as a buffet, while lunch and dinner were table served, and the quality and freshness were consistently excellent. There was a good variety of choice, with everything well presented and clearly prepared with care. A couple of evenings featured BBQs, with slightly different offerings each night, which added a nice variety to the dining experience. We were never disappointed with a meal throughout our stay.
The attention to detail throughout the holiday was also impressive. On arrival, we were welcomed with drinks while our cases were taken to our room. A welcome meeting was held each Sunday, and on two afternoons during our stay there was afternoon tea served around the pool. These little touches really added to the feeling that the hotel genuinely wanted its guests to enjoy their stay.
We booked this hotel as a special birthday treat and had worked hard and saved particularly hard to make this holiday possible. When you put that much effort into saving for a special occasion, you naturally hope that the reality will live up to your expectations. This hotel did not disappoint in the slightest — quite the opposite, it exceeded them.
From the quality of the accommodation and food to the friendliness and professionalism of the staff, everything contributed to making this a truly special holiday.
This is a vacation we will remember for a very, very long time. We can now understand why this hotel receives so many positive reviews, and we would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending it to others. We would certainly consider returning ourselves.
My wife and I spent one week at the Seaside Grand and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The property is attractive and well maintained. The service was exceptional. We were celebrating our anniversary and the staff went out of there way to make our day special. The pool area was quiet as was the entire property. It was a very relaxing and restful stay. It is a short walk to either the beach or the shopping area. We were very surprised at all the activity that existed a short walk from the property while the property remained an oasis of tranquility. We couldn't have asked for more and we can't wait to return.
This hotel / holiday is/was simply the best holiday we've had.
From the airport pick-up, to reception (greeted by name), a fabulous room that's spotless, beautiful, cool and spacious, we feel really at home.
The ambience is slow, gentle, sophisticated, and grown-up... the hotel isn't adults only, though it feels like it should be. No piped music playing, just a live local band at the BBQ nights and a live act (pianist, guitar) at 9pm at the outdoor bar.
There's a nice gym (outdoors but fully shaded) and a great spa (sauna, steam, cold plunge, outdoor thermal pool with jets).
For us however it is the restaurant and the breakfast and dinner which makes this hotel really special. The first time we went (this was our third trip) we had B&B only and we ate out on the first night. It was... OK. Second night we ate at the hotel restaurant and that's it for us. It is wonderful. Food. Service. Ambiance. The staff are so friendly. So half-board for us.
So many people at the hotel are "repeaters" and these guests are greeted like old friends by the staff. However, new guests are treated just as well and this universally outstanding treatment was what clinched it for us.
Almost all the staff are "long-timers" and have been there years. That says something. They clearly love "working" there.
Every day after breakfast we headed to the beach, and the sand dunes are amazing. Maybe a world heritage site? You certainly don't go playing on them (big fine if youre caught I read). 2 sun beds and a parasol €7.50/day. We'd have a long walk on the beach to the next town and back (9k) which helps with the calorie intake! And then lounge around the pool later in the day. People do swim a bit and we think the pool measures around 18m by 15m perhaps. Big enough to do some lengths if you want to.
So congratulations to the owner and the management. You've created a little heaven. Don't change it!
