The modern Dunas Mirador Maspalomas is located in the popular Gran Canria resort of Maspalomas. The laid back area of Sonnenland is nearby and has a selection of shops, bars and restaurants to tempt you. The hotel has two swimming pools with a whirlpool and a large terrace, perfect for relaxing in the sun. There is also a free shuttle bus service to the beach and the famous dunes of Maspalomas. From the fantastic freeform pool surrounded by palm trees and loungers to the sumptuous buffet restaurant - this is a hotel that will get you in the holiday mood straightaway.
First, the accommodation. All rooms are modern and spacious with private facilities and a terrace or balcony overlooking the surrounding area. They also feature satellite TV, telephone and safety deposit box (at a fee).
The facilities here are varied, offering guests plenty of opportunities to relax and enjoy themselves in the Gran Canaria sunshine. There are a choice of two pools with plenty of space to relax on a comfy lounger poolside and enjoy working on that all-important tan. There's also a pool bar when you want some cool refreshments and a beauty centre if you want to treat yourself to a little pampering.
Later on, why not dine in the restaurant or on the terrace, and afterwards enjoy a drink and perhaps watch live music or one of the professional shows laid on for guests.
This is a great choice for your Gran Canaria holiday, however please be aware that this resort is not suitable for guests with limited mobility.

The hotel reception and rooms was excellent very clean . Disappointed with the restaurant food not a great selection for children from uk . The pool bar had a smell which was not very nice food on pool bar was ok . The pools was very good . Night entertainment not really for children and only lasted about an hour . Staff friendly and professional

If you rely on air con - this isn’t the hotel for you !
Rooms without air conditioning! Not enough loungers for accomodate half the occupancy. Entertainment good , food ok , location requires taxis.
Things we wish we knew before :- Whilst it doesn’t specifically advertise that the hotel is old and has not been installed with air conditioning in any of its rooms, it should explicitly say that on the holiday booking website. If we had known this , I would not have booked this hotel.
You can rent air con units for 30’euros per room per week. However , there are not enough A/C units for all rooms. Our first night we were told there were no more left so had to ask again in the morning . Luckily we got one , however some people were still being refused them.
In 40 degree heat , in summer it was something I expected as standard. Equally a complimentary bottle of Water in the room would be a welcome gesture .
There have been recordings of the “race to the loungers” in the morning . At full occupancy the hotel will hold 1000 guests , but there’s probably less than half that of loungers .. (lifeboat and Titanic scenario here)
There’s a mad scramble at 8:30’each morning , when it’s every man for himself !
Availability to get food is good, the temperature of food could be hotter though ! Cold ribs and lukewarm warm chicken not very appetising.
Alcohol for all inclusive limited choice and all self serve plastic cups. Not permitted to take a hot drinks out to loungers .
Entertainment team work very hard and do a great job. Cockroaches friendly , The resident cat puts up with the chaos well and if he is in the mood will allow you to pet him.
Aquagym and yoga great . Rifle shooting in the mini club toddler area seemed an odd location for that activity .
You need a taxi to get around for sure . Waterpark was good however would recommend the fast track pass (although an additional 30’euros each for that too)
