- Gloria Palace Amadores Thalasso and Hotel

This great beach hotel, built in 2003, is very nicely located in the tourist centre of Amadores, it is approximately 1 km from the local sandy beach and its crystal clear waters. The local promenade is a great place where guests will find a variety of leisure possibilities. Convenient public transport links are very close to the hotel. Numerous boutiques and shops, restaurants and a wide range of bars can be found in the surroundings. This is a lively place to spend active holidays by the sea.
Pamper yourself with a visit to the spa, which offers massages, body treatments and facials. You're sure to appreciate the recreational amenities, which include 2 outdoor swimming pools, an outdoor tennis court and a sauna. This hotel also features complimentary wireless Internet access, babysitting (surcharge) and an arcade/games room.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Beautiful hotel, top marks for cleanliness, good food and location to puerto rico and Amadores beaches, 10 minutes walk to both. Pool on top is beautiful. It's an infinity pool, great view.
My wife and I have stayed in this hotel on 4 separate occasions and we do love the hotel. The views from the pool areas and the room sizes and balconies are amazing however we do feel a few things let the hotel down . We stayed here in June for a week and returned in August for another week on both occasions we were staying in block 4 , which we had requested as it has amazing views out to sea and private balcony . The rooms themselves have been refurbished to a good standard and are extremely spacious and comfortable. Bathrooms are spacious and modern. Some balconies have sunbeds others only table and chairs depending on room allocation. The rooms were cleaned daily and towels etc were changed as you would expect. Throughout our stay only 2 lifts were working out of the 3 in block 4 so it was a nightmare getting from floor to floor on multiple occasions. Especially with the hotel being as busy. We had requested a specific room we had stayed in previously but the hotel were unable to accommodate this . The pool areas are our favourite thing about this hotel , top pool being our favourite as it a bit quieter but still busy at peak times obviously. The snack bar food and drinks were excellent although we did wait quite a while on occasions to be served. The bar for the pool drinks was really busy at times also it may be a suggestion to provide a separate service area for the coffee drinkers as on multiple occasions the service was extremely slow because of the 1 bar staff making fancy coffee’s for people. Creating long delays for others. We stayed all inclusive and found a good selection of food in the restaurant however on occasions it was really slow to top up any choices that were running low or empty. The staff in the restaurant were excellent and worked very hard . The big letdown in the hotel is the nightime entertainment. We have been here a few times now and we do think it’s needing modernising. Also it’s stops around 10-10:30pm and speaking to other guests feel like a bit more could be done to modernise and keep it going a bit later. The hotel location is good but wouldn’t advise anyone with mobility issues and it’s extremely hilly in the surrounding areas. As with all all inclusive hotels you do do feel the need to eat out a couple of times throughout your holiday just to mix things up a bit and they’re are some great restaurants around the resort. We did have another good holiday here and will return however a few small improvements in this hotel could make it even better.
We've just spent a week at this hotel. Opting to book the premium room with private pool. So glad we done that. The rooms are spacious and the pool gets the sun from midday which suited us as the pool area on block 4 is just too busy, cluttered and dirty. I'm an early riser and at 7am I'd go up to lay on beds and read. Some folk must put their towels out at midnight to get "their spot". I felt that cleanliness around the pool could be better. There's loads of broken parasols stacked to one side. There's cigarette butt's on the floor that have been here all week. The beds could do with a good scrub down. There's several cracked and chipped floor tiles - surely they can be tidied up? The infinity pool is nice. However as the safety glass doesnt get cleaned, it does spoil your views. Food - we've found the food varied and plentiful and always found something to eat. One minor niggle being the egg ladies that worked midweek. Omelette lady made the thinnest omelette known to man. Cooked in 2 mins. And fried egg lady - you have to see it to believe it. I struggle to describe the state that those eggs were in after she'd cooked them. I joked with one guy during the week as his looked like a sheet of fiberglass!!!
Evening entertainment, or what we heard, or saw of it was below average. We spent several nights off site, or just glazed by our pool to avoid the evening entertainment.
One other thing, the lift to take yoy down to the promenade. Please give that a clean, the glass and metal sides and doors are manky!
I'm glad we stayed here, and really enjoyed the room we had. Just could have been a bit better, especially around the pool.
We spent this week here. We chose the bed and breakfast option to give us the opportunity to explore other places which worked out so well as there are some wonderful beaches. & restaurants within walking distance or a short taxi ride. Room-We stayed in block 3. It was very quiet @ relaxing. Our room was big modern & clean. Very comfortable beds. Powerful air conditioning. Great bathroom & shower balcony was completely private & the view was stunning. We had a table & chairs & 2 sun beds to watch the stunning sunsets. Housekeeping was great by Kiki. She was so happy and hard working.
The breakfast in the hotel restaurant was Restaurant-Lovely food. Lots of choice plenty of tables & chairs. Clean restaurant with lovely staff & the bonus option to eat outside overlooking the sea if there is free seating which there was some mornings.
The pools were stunning. So clean with breathtaking views. Lots of sun beds & parasols available. Pool bar did great food & drinks & again all staff very happy and helpful.
Entertainment-ranged from chilled saxophonist to singers/groups with lively dance vibes. Lots of very comfortable seating available & drinks from the bar were nice. Cocktails were a bit hit & miss but overall nice.
Exploring-If you turn left from the hotel & walk along the sea path (stunning views & very safe) for about 5-10 minutes you will reach Puerto Rico. Lovely beach Shops & water activities. If you turn right from the hotel & walk along the sea path (stunning views & very safe) for about 10-15 minutes you will reach Amadores. There is less here but it has a lovely beach & restaurants. We also visited Anfi beach which cost 8 euros in a taxi. We loved Anfi. Definitely worth visiting. We went to the aquarium in Las Palmas. Which was a brilliant experience. We took the bus from Puerto Rico bus station it was 32 euros for two of us return trip. It took an hour & was a great way to see some of the island. Buses very clean & air conditioned. On Friday it is market days at Mogan. We got a taxi from the hotel which was 18 Euros. Mogan has a huge market on a Friday. The taxi will drop you off close then you can walk through the market & into “Little Venice”. We had lunch in Little Venice by the harbour & took the ferry back to Puerto Rico for 8 Euros each. Mogan is beautiful & well worth visiting. We have had a wonderful week at this hotel. If you like exploring then the breakfast only option is a great option. We felt very safe & looked after inside & outside of the hotel. It is a truly stunning place to stay. It is a perfect place to stay & relax and in a great location to go off exploring. I am happy to answer any questions about restaurant recommendations or tips etc.
We used to love to come to Gloria Palace and leaving very satisfied and happy. This time we got bad located, dirty absolutely not prepared rooms beside the snack bar without the sea view even was booked with the view. We got a better room next day. Everything was good from that time except the building work was done just outside of our room. We paid a lot for good relaxing time but unfortunately we had to get up early morning as the drilling and banging woke us up nearly every morning. Otherwise everything was fine. All inclusive option that we had upgraded at the reception at the arriving was double price then online.
