This great beach hotel, built in 2003, is very nicely located in the tourist centre of Amadores, it is approximately 1 km from the local sandy beach and its crystal clear waters. The local promenade is a great place where guests will find a variety of leisure possibilities. Convenient public transport links are very close to the hotel. Numerous boutiques and shops, restaurants and a wide range of bars can be found in the surroundings. This is a lively place to spend active holidays by the sea.
Pamper yourself with a visit to the spa, which offers massages, body treatments and facials. You're sure to appreciate the recreational amenities, which include 2 outdoor swimming pools, an outdoor tennis court and a sauna. This hotel also features complimentary wireless Internet access, babysitting (surcharge) and an arcade/games room.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
The Gloria Palace Amadores fully deserves its claimed 4 stars. In almost every regards, the hotel is well-run, well-designed, generous in its facilities and its dining, and its staff were both friendly and well informed. Most guests took a short taxi journey from the centre of Puerto Rico to reach the hotel, which is sited on a hill high above the town and harbour. The views from the hotel's rooms and from many of its public spaces were outstanding. The hotel is little more than 10 years old, is still in great condition and the rooms (especially the bathrooms) are comfy and well-designed. The beds are firm but yet comfortable. There are two pools, three or four bars and a large and efficiently-run main dining room. Wifi was pretty good anywhere in the hotel, and the evening entertainment ranged from passable to very good. At every meal the hotel offered a stunning variety of food, which was well cooked and well displayed. The demonstration chefs offered lovely food cooked to order - as good as any I have had in any hotel in the Canaries. I thought the all inclusive option was generous and not over-priced, and I would recommend it if in doubt. A lovely and comfortable hotel, large enough - but not too large. I'm looking forward to my next visit.
We have visited this hotel once a year for the last six years. It’s always been a hotel we loved. Great location, nice room and balcony with sea views, quiet surroundings, nice spa, great lounging areas, good food and entertainment. But alas…. The food used to be gourmet quality but now the Food has had A real dip in quality No more than three stars Less options in general Lacking in western food choices Bland sauces.
Entertainment Extremely poor acts, amateurs singers all singing the same songs, usually elvis, abba, Neil diamond and other outdated songs from way back. It’s as if they think that’s all we want to hear. Quite patronising realty. Also the after dinner singers in the lounge were even more amateur than the acts on at night. It used to be a special experience after dinner to sit in the reception lounge area and hear some relaxing music but this year the singers were so poor we had to leave the lounge. The quality is so below the standard it used to be and has cheapened a once wonderful hotel experience A huge dip in quality You used to be happy to stay in the hotel all day and night in the expectation of some good entertainment. Several times we had to leave and go to our rooms such was the poor quality of entertainment in place. It is apparent the hotel has exercised cost cutting exercises and in my opinion it has diminished the experience in a detrimental way and affected the quality of our holiday. Old worn out sweat stained sofas in the reception area. Bars in and around the hotel not being able to accept cash, waiters having to run up to the reception area to get change for us was quite inconvenient as we had to wait.
It’s all a bit sad really. I’m not saying don’t visit this hotel, it’s still a nice place to go, but the cost cutting has really diminished a once wonderful experience.
Perfect hotel and views just arrived back from a lovely week with my other half (both in our mid 30’s) Check in - arrived early at 1pm, room not ready but a lovely lady named Jennifer gave us all the information needed for our stay, an directed us to the snack bar for a drink and lunch whilst waiting. Not even half an hour later got a call and room was ready. Room - stayed in block 3 and the room was lovely. Very big in size, large bed, sofa, balcony was very big with 2 x sun loungers and table and chairs and the views are unreal. Beds were made and fresh towels daily including 2 x bottles of water, sometimes it was sparkling and I only like still, but again that’s just preference the maid isn’t to know. The one thing was the condiment station wasn’t topped up so after a couple of nights there was no normal tea bags but again not a big deal. Pool area - we spent all our time in the ‘quieter pool above block 3. Was clean and again the views were the best. Bar staff always happy, can’t remember all the names but they all deserve the recognition. A lady called Angelica remembered my boyfriends order and had his drinks ready when he came the bar and this was a lovely touch. Never mix of a que. Food - plenty of choice an options, fresh omelettes in the morning were my favourite, theme nights and had a lovely steak one night an a bbq the other, so much choice and cannot complain. Drinks bought to table and poured which gives it that luxury feel. Can also sit in the terrace overlooking the sea which is beautiful when having your meal. The snack bar was my best part, still all inclusive but can order an it’s made fresh so each lunch that’s what we done. The pizza was stone baked and tasted really good I had one each day. Evening - the evenings were lovely, different entertainment each night, we went out a few nights but when there we enjoyed. Drinks again bought to the table so no having to wait at a bar. A lovely lady called Monica welcomed us on our first night an remembered us. I even asked if I could pay the difference to have an ameretto one night an th waitress kindly told me there is a version free on the all inclusive which was really honest of her an that made all the difference rather than just trying to make money. The little lobby bar was great, my other half loved chilling there watching the football. The vibe around the hotel was great, all the guests were lovely an we chatted with many and made friends. Would definitely come again and already recommending to my family and friends as they won’t be disappointed.
Great location half way on the coastal walk between Puerto Rico, and Amadores beaches. Rooms spacious, and well appointed, only gripe was glasses/cups, and towels weren’t changed on a more frequent basis. Food at all meals was first class, with fantastic choice for all dietary requirements. Excellent selection of drinks on the all inclusive, we’d initially booked b and b, however upgraded to AI as it represented excellent value. The staff were wonderful, friendly, a credit to the hotel. We would definitely come back, simply great.
Had a lovely time here. The hotel is glorious. A shame the thalassotherapy was not available, half price massages were a bonus though. Had the pool room. This makes the holiday really special. Stunning view of the Atlantic. The rooms are clean, the beds are huge and so high. I noted the cokes have disappeared from the fridge from last time. For the type of room that was a miss. Appreciate small savings need to be made. Food was good. Really liked themed setting, ice cream Mr Whippy machine, chocolate fountain. Entertainment; some were good. Special mention for the Boney M tribute which was really good. The ballroom is a great layout. The waiters work so hard but the system of ordering drinks can be long with 2 senior staff only taking order from a 100 tables. The best bit about the area is it is so friendly, staff are friendly, reception were very good. Overall a very enjoyable experience.
