The Hotel Riu Calypso is located in the vicinity of Morro Jable in Fuerteventura, Spain, and offers excellent views of the crystal clear water and golden sand. It includes a gym, table tennis, pool, a tennis court and in the surrounding area you can also try out water sports, horse riding, squash and cycling to explore the region. During the week the hotel offers shows and live music, and we also recommend a trip to the city centre where you'll find bars, restaurants and clubs where you can spend the evenings dancing to the best beats.
Pamper yourself with a visit to the spa, which offers massages. If you're looking for recreational opportunities, you'll find an outdoor pool and a fitness centre. This hotel also features complimentary wireless Internet access, gift shops/newsstands and a hair salon.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
In general very good service. However I do not consider the evening entertainment area being open to the elements, such as high winds and high temperatures, as being suitable for a relaxing evening to enjoy the music and drinks. The area should be properly controlled and airconditioned!. The restaurant and the food were very good
Great Rui palace hotel in great location right by beach front . Beach and sea far better than any Caribbean holiday destination we have been to . Hotel staff excellent. Food selection & quality excellent. Town , boutiques , cafes all within easy walking distance . Downside 2 hour transfer with drops from airport . Can cope with it to end up in this prime location. Have booked a return so it must have ticked the right boxes for us .
Really enjoyed out recent stay at this fabulous Hotel from 29th August through to the 9th of September. Everything about the hotel was excellent from our spacious room the food and service at the restaurants would highly recommend.
Although this hotel had supposedly been refurbished we were allocated room 817. The room was pleasantly modern but there had obviously been an issue around the top of the skirting boards were there was filler. And paint that that was falling on the floor. We have stayed at this hotel previously the food standards were disappointing, too much salt in a lot of the meals and gravies. Meal choices were repetitive dry and over cooked. Fruit choices were very disappointing and limited. Bar /drink service around the pool area was very poor and slow. Overall the standard was poor in comparison to previous visits. Our Dutch friends were of the same opinion.

We stayed at the Riu Palace Calypso Hotel from the 12th to 26th August 2026, we had a warm & friendly welcome at check in, greeted with a glass of Prosecco. We were allocated room 1015 which was spacious, very clean & comfortable with a lovely sea view.
Positives:
Buffet Restaurant, food quality was very good but can get repetitive, we were served by Annara always with a smile 😊
Hotel sat at the end of one of the best beaches in Fuerteventra 🏖️
Negatives:
Guest smoking & vaping on balconies, people like us that are non smokers is unacceptable also when my husband suffers from asthma.
Pool small for the size of the hotel also guest smoking & vaping around pool area, when there are designated area’s.
Lifts - elevator very slow & always breaking down.
Overall had a lovely quiet holiday definitely will return.
