Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Overall great resort, absolutely nothing to complain about in terms of food, accommodation and facilities in the Jandia Mar. The entertainment team went above and beyond each night to make our stay (particularly the night) as fun as possible. Names I can drop include the likes of Jay, Omar, Oliwia and Clara. These three were the faces of the team for us and you can tell they love what they do day in day out.

We had a fantastic family stay at Barceló Occidental Jandía Mar Resort with our family of four, including our two small children.
The customer service throughout our stay was excellent. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and always happy to help, which made such a difference when travelling with young kids. The food was okay overall — there was enough choice, although it wasn’t necessarily the highlight of our stay.
We opted for a €20 upgrade, and for us it was absolutely worth it. The hotel itself could probably benefit from a few upgrades and some refreshing here and there, but overall, we found it comfortable, enjoyable and a great place for a family holiday.
A very special thank you to Vanessa, who was absolutely incredible. She was so friendly, warm and genuinely lovely with our children, and she was brilliant at keeping them entertained. My wife and I also had a lovely chat with her while enjoying our drinks, which made us feel so welcome and relaxed. She was equally fantastic as a host around the restaurant/buffet area.
We understand that the staff rotate duties each day, but wherever Vanessa is working, she is a real asset to the hotel. She deserves to be very well looked after and recognised for the fantastic job she does! 🙌
Overall, we had a really enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend Barceló Occidental Jandía Mar Resort to other families. We would absolutely come back ourselves — hopefully we’ll see Vanessa again too! 😊

Been an amazing holiday. Nice rooms and great services specially the pools and the aqua park, the kids had a wonderful time. We had a great time with the evening events like shows and djs. The view from the rooms was breathtaking and everything was just perfect. I want to thank everyone but especially Vanessa. We met her at the restaurant and the bar, she was absolutely amazing, attentive and lovely with the children. I definitely recommend it for family with young children with the all inclusive service.
It was excellent family holiday for us, really enjoyed it. One of the best family hotels for this price range with many things to do for kids and on site waterpark. We arrived to the hotel at midnight, there was quick check in procedure and we were offered cold buffet food and soft drinks at the restaurant area what we happily accepted. Rooms large and very clean with daily housekeeping service. Nice pool and restaurant area. Restaurant at certain meal times can get busy like in any other hotel. Food was very tasty and even our fussy eaters could always find something for them. Very nice wine served at lunch and dinner time. Pool area can get busy, and yes some people reserve seats early morning, so was struggling to find bed in shade area. Overall we all enjoyed our holiday, would go back for family holiday. But if you want more romantic holiday I would choose adults only hotel, this one is more for families with children.
