It’s our third time here at the Mar, if we could live there then we would. It has everything for out needs during our hoilday. We upgraded & used the a La carte restaurant, which was a game changer. Lovely food & service. There’s no sun bed wars, the sun beds /loungers are great. The bottom pool is quiet & clean. It suits us just fine! Oh & the cats are amazing so don’t forget to feed them

My opinion of the Occidental Jandia mar hotel..
We came as a family of 9 people, mostly teenagers and adults, we loved our stay, the rooms were nice enough, comfy bed and clean bedding.
Friendly staff in the restaurant and bars, reception unfortunately at times were not very professional, and didn't seem to know how to answer questions very well. But there wasn't any real problems so everything was ok.
The restaurant was lovely, the food was great, with a lovely selection of meats and fish, and the usual selection of children's food.. lots of lovely deserts, cheeses and ice-cream etc.
The pools were lovely. There is a kids/ young adults area with slides on site, which was really nice.
Unfortunately the beach is a little walk, not too far away, maybe 15 minutes or so, but it is on a bit of a hill, and the tiles could be a little slippery so good stable footwear is a must.
There is a free bus from the hotel to Morro jable beach at 10am and 11am, and a free return bus at 16.00 and 17.00, and the beach is absolutely stunning, turquoise water and soft sand, definitely worth a visit, you won't be disappointed.
There are some good shops at Morro table too.
The entertainment was very good in the evening, the cocktails were great and lovely bar staff.
All in all we really enjoyed our week at this hotel and resort, would definitely visit again!

We like this hotel. Good food for “all inclusive” although a little slow replenishing bacon & eggs at breakfast when busy. Very, very clean in all areas. Rooms very large, big, comfy beds, but bathrooms do definitely need updating. Pools are great, loads sunbeds. Only downside is a steep hill leading up to hotel. Courtesy bus is a godsend! 😂 Yes i would go there again.
Hotel is nice. After some of the reviews I was worried but was surprised when we arrived.
Rooms are old and do need upgrading but large very clean and the beds are good.
Food was nice always something to eat. One night we had steak one night salmon not just your usual stews and fried food.
Pools very nice. No issue getting a sun bed at all, not much shade so can get very hot.
Location if you only want to stay in the hotel then great but not much in local area few shops and restaurant all the restaurant and bars closed at 11pm high was fine for us.
Transfer time is long almost 2hrs. The queue at the pool bar is a joke. One person serving we waited 45 minutes for for drinks a few times and there no shade so you are queuing in the sun. You can get beer wine and soft drinks from snack bar which was always easy but if you wanted something else pool bar it is. Johnathan at the pool bar was very nice always smiling and helpful.
Overall the hotel is a little run down but nothing too terrible. It’s very big so I do think the staff struggling to keep on top of it.
Probably wouldn’t return but only because of the transfer time. When we booked it said 1hr and it was way closer to 2hrs.
