July 2026 Holiday

My wife and I stayed in a superior room with sea view located on the 5th floor with a great view overt he pool area and beyond to the beach and lighthouse. The room was spacious, light and airy with plenty of storage space, although the furniture did remind me of 1970s G-plan. The ensuite had a walk-in shower, which always had plenty of hot water. The room was kept clean and tidy by the housekeeping staff, in fact the whole hotel was very clean. The only downside to our room was the air conditioning, which was just powerful enough to keep the room cool. Breakfast and dinner were taken in the spacious dining room or on the terrace facing the pool. Both are buffet style with hot and cold food, the freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast was especially good. My wife and I thought though that the dinner menu was slanted towards the Germans who are the majority of the clientele in the hotel. The food though at both meals was very good. Gentlemen are requested to wear long trousers at dinner, this is non-negotiable. The evening entertainment was mixed, on the stage inside the hotel or on the terrace outside the hotel. The standout acts for use were the spanish duo playing traditional spanish songs on their acoustic guitars, Betty (a spanish Anastacia) playing a mix of pop and rock songs on her guitar to a backing track and the spanish gentlemen ( whose name I have forgotten) who played his electric guitar to backing tracks, covering the likes of U2, Dire Straits, Queen, Pink Floyd, AC/DC & Santana among others. Would my wife. and I recommend this hotel, yes, it is in a good location, the food is good, the staff are very friendly and helpful, although they do assume that you are german, so a few words in that language is useful and the beach opposite the hotel is fantastic. Also we had a taxi transfer from the airport, because Morro Jable, where the hotel is located, is almost at the southern end of Fuerteventura. This took an hour, not sure how long a bus transfer would take.

Extremely disappointing experience

Extremely disappointing experience We stayed at this hotel this week as a family of five, and unfortunately, the whole trip was a bitter disappointment. The biggest issue by far was the attitude of several members of staff, who were rude, unhelpful and, at times, extremely patronising towards both me and my family.

On arrival, after a long day of travelling, we were told that despite having booked and paid for a Presidential Suite, we were only permitted to use two of the three bedrooms. We had specifically chosen and paid for this suite because we needed the additional private space for our teenage children. The lady on reception was rude and unhelpful, and we were simply told to return in the morning and that it would be sorted out.

Unfortunately, the following morning we were met by another member of staff who was equally unhelpful and very patronising towards my husband. They remained insistent that we could not use the third bedroom that we had paid for, which was incredibly frustrating and completely unacceptable.

Sadly, our experience with the restaurant and bar staff was no better, with the exception of a few genuinely lovely members of staff. On several occasions, staff were unfriendly and even simple requests seemed to be treated as though they were a major inconvenience.

We also witnessed staff speaking loudly to each other in Spanish while appearing to make negative comments about guests. Whether or not we understood everything being said, the way this was done in front of guests was extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable.

Overall, we left feeling very disappointed and unwelcome. A hotel stay should be relaxing and enjoyable, but unfortunately this experience was neither.

I would not recommend this hotel and, based on our experience, we certainly would not return. Awful and incredibly disappointing.

Our official complaint has still not been aknowledged as of now a week after it was sent via email. No attempt to contact us or offer any apologies or explanations.

Great Experience

MUR Hotel Faro Jandía & Spa is an absolutely wonderful hotel, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Everything was exceptional: the location is fantastic, right next to the beach and the lighthouse of Jandía, the rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean, and the staff are extremely friendly, attentive, and professional.

The food was excellent, with a great variety of choices, and the pool and relaxation areas are perfect for a peaceful holiday. We also really enjoyed the spa, which is a fantastic added bonus to the hotel.

What impressed us most, however, was the genuine care and attention given to guests. You can really feel that the entire team wants every guest to have a wonderful experience and leave with beautiful memories.

One area that could definitely be improved is the table service during breakfast and dinner. Another point of concern is the price of the parking => day/nights.

We will definitely come back! We highly recommend this hotel and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable holiday in Fuerteventura. ❤️🌴☀️

Great Time

I’m currently sitting on the plane waiting to fly home, so I thought I’d take the opportunity to write a quick review while everything is still fresh in my mind. I have to admit, I was a little nervous about this hotel after reading a couple of reviews, but I needn’t have worried. This is a fabulous hotel, in an amazing location next to a beautiful beach, and we couldn’t have asked for a better holiday. Location Situated in the south of the island, the hotel is around a 1–2 hour transfer from the airport. The hotel is directly opposite the beach, with a promenade running alongside it, which is perfect for those much-needed evening walks or morning runs. It’s fair to say there are very few British tourists at the hotel or in the resort. Most of the staff and locals speak German as their second language, largely due to the number of German tourists who visit the area. The beach is amazing beautiful sand and incredibly clear water, which is perfect for swimming. The beach is also used by nudists, although during the two days we spent on the beach, we only saw a handful of men, so it certainly didn’t affect our experience. Cleanliness & Rooms The hotel is immaculately clean. The rooms and all communal areas are maintained to a very high standard. The décor is mainly oak wood, which some people might consider slightly dated, but everything is clean, well maintained and, personally, I really liked the look. We had a family room with a pool view. My daughter had a two-seater sofa bed which converted into a small double — absolutely brilliant and much more comfortable than I expected. Staff- The staff are friendly and helpful. As mentioned, English is effectively the third language, but we had no problems communicating. I’ve read some reviews describing the staff as rude, but that certainly wasn’t our experience. We found everyone to be pleasant and accommodating.

Dining If, like me, you’re used to traditional All Inclusive hotels with wristbands, buffet-style lunches and dinners, then the dining experience here is completely different.

The hotel is relatively small compared with many other All Inclusive resorts, and the dining experience is much more like being in a restaurant, tablecloths, napkins and waiter service for drinks. If you’re expecting a busy, hustle-and-bustle All Inclusive environment, you won’t find that here. Personally, I really enjoyed the more relaxed approach. Breakfast- Breakfast has everything you would expect continental options, pastries and a full cooked breakfast. Lunch- Lunch is served in the snack bar. With All Inclusive, you have a menu of around 28 different dishes, ranging from tapas, burgers, pasta and fish dishes, along with a salad bar. You can order as many dishes as you like, but again, it feels much more like eating in a restaurant rather than queuing at a pool bar for a buffet. Dinner- Dinner has the usual salad and dessert bars, while the hot food options change each evening. There is always a fish selection, including prawns, salmon, tuna, swordfish and more. There are also plenty of options for children, including pizza, chips and pasta, alongside different hot dishes each night. We stayed for nine nights and genuinely had something different to eat every day. The food is amazing! I’m not sure I can go back to the old-school All Inclusive experience after this! 😂

Pool & Entertainment- The pool area is generally very quiet, which I can only assume is because guests split their time between the hotel and the beach. There isn’t an entertainment team, so the pool area is lovely and relaxing exactly what we wanted. The evening entertainment is slightly hit and miss. They have guest musicians and dancers come in, but there isn’t any dedicated children’s entertainment. Facilities & Final Day We absolutely loved this hotel. Even on our final day, when we weren’t due to leave until 17:30, the hotel allowed us to keep our room until we left at no extra charge. That was a fantastic touch and made the final day so much more enjoyable. I didn’t personally use the spa, but my wife did and said it was really nice, with some good equipment. The hotel only has one bar, which can occasionally mean a bit of a wait, but the drinks selection is good. They use well known international brands rather than local brands.

Overall

We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be looking to return. Hopefully this review helps anyone else who might be considering staying here.

Great hotel, great location. An oasis of peace and relaxation

The loveliest hotel in the loveliest area.

Location right on the beach and salt marshes meaning wonderful walks, views and in nature as well as being along a really lovely shopping street. Beach and sea were lovely. Morning runs were scenic and peaceful.

The hotel itself was amazing. Friendly greeting with cava on arrival. Treated with such a warm welcome after a long trip.

Rooms were lovely, clean and well maintained. Food was great. Even when not keen on the choices there was always something to eat. Desserts were amazing and staff friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble.

There were always sunbeds available and none of the sunbed wars you often get.

Pool clean and well lifeguards.

The spa was wonderful and when on the one occasion there were young people messing around staff sorted it instantly.

I cannot think of a single thing I would change except staying longer (and we stayed for 3 weeks!)

First trip to Jandia and goat stay in a MUR hotel. If we could come for Christmas we absolutely would be and we will definitely be back.

So many lovely days in the most welcoming place I have stayed - definitely recommend wholeheartedly!
