Buganvilla Hotel & Spa is across the promenade from the Morro Jable lighthouse and the sweeping sands of Playa de Jandía in the southwestern part of the island of Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands. The pale-painted hotel buildings are set around gardens planted with palm trees and other native flora, with plenty of places to relax with a drink from the poolside bar. There are two outdoor swimming pools at the hotel, one of which is smaller, shallow and designed for children and the other is heated. There's also a heated indoor pool. The hotel spa has a whirlpool, as well as a sauna and Turkish bath; and you can also book treatments here. There's a private gym near the spa, or you might prefer a less strenuous game of table tennis. The hotel has two restaurants offering Mediterranean and international cuisine, as well as a bar and a café. The poolside bar serves light meals.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We went as a family of four with two young children. The hotel was really nice, arrived before the room was ready but was able to use facilities and have food. Checked into a lovely room, could do with a bit more storage space but it was clean and tidy. Fresh towels and bedding daily, except on Sundays. Facilities were good, loads of sun loungers, never struggled to find one (the ones at the pool side go quick though). Be careful on Mondays as that is when they clean poolside, so you can’t put towels down until 10am (I did get shouted at for this). Pool is a good size, was never overcrowded and there is a small kiddie pool around 0.30m deep. There is a pool bar, some cocktails have a price even touch it’d all inclusive. The pool bar snacks isn’t the best, just ham and cheese toasties and a random cake and pastry assortment. The entertainment during the day is good, 3/4 different games throughout the day. There’s also a kids club that runs from 10:45 - 1 and then 3-4. The kids loved this! Big shout out Ellen, Danielle and Sarah! You also get a towel card for each guest, you can get a new towel each day for the pool if you want. You can use your own towels too though. Also, TAKE TOWEL PEGS! The wind will blow everything away! They do sell these at all the tourist shops though.
The food selection at lunch and dinner is good. Various meat options like veal, goat, beef and chicken. They do a lunch once a week outside by the pool, the selection for this is not the best, just one meat and spaghetti plus the paella stand. Would say it could do with an ice cream outside, but there isn’t one. Night time entertainment shows weren’t the best. Mostly singers but they did have a circus and magic act towards the end of the holiday.
Transport is quite simple around the island, buses come regularly, just use google maps.
Loads of shops near by, names brands to the left of hotel and tourist shops to the right. Beach front is opposite the hotel, 5-10 minute walk. If you go to the left of the lighthouse, the sand is perfect as the right side of the beach, the sand is impossible to walk on because it is scorching hot.
Overall, really nice holiday. We all enjoyed it. Would go back. Would have given it 5 stars if there was a larger selection of ice cream snacks outside near the pool.
Group of 9 with young children on their 1st holiday. Absolutly spotless, all the staff were nice. The kids loved the pool and nearby beach as did the adults! So seeing the negative reviews saying its all german, its not! Theres also many spanish, italians, french etc as well as a fair few families from the uk but so what its not butlins or benidorm! Its a solid 4 star lovely hotel with a nice vibe, good food and drink, great location and lovely weather. Wish i was still there!
Great hotel ,located close to the beach and lots of shops and restaurants around it , the room we had was nice and quiet with a small garden to the rear , great animation team ,lots of entertainment around the pool through the day 😀 overall a great holiday 😎👌
We arrived around 11.30 and were given a wristband and able to get pool towels as I room wasn’t ready ( which we realised was the case ) it was ready at 1pm We booked a seaview high floor room and were allocated 513 , a lovely spacious room with a good sized balcony and spectacular pool and seaview The room and bathroom were very clean The food and service we experienced during our stay was fabulous The only gripe we could have was that on the Friday lunch was served by the pool bar which isn’t really a big enough area considering the number of people staying and led to large queues and difficulty finding somewhere to sit to eat The hotel itself was exceptionally clean in all the public areas The pool area is comfortable and close to the pool bar The beach which is just across the road is spectacular We would definitely return And thank you for the bottle of fizz in the room for my birthday
A fantastic first time stay at Buganvilla!
I can’t agree with the bad reviews, I didint find that the entertainment not the food where aimed at German clientele
Food was plentiful and always very tasty
Every single staff member encountered where friendly and always said hello
Always plenty of sunbeds
My only downsides which are personal is the lack of outlets in the room and the small window in the bathroom letting light in
Thanks for a great stay!
