TUI Magic Life Fuerteventura

Beautiful place, very well kept. Friendly staff. Our room was very nice, the maids do a wonderful job of keeping them clean. It’s a big, busy hotel with lots going on although it doesn’t feel crowded. Always sun loungers available and you can bring floaties to the pool. One really large pool and some smaller ones, a separate nudist pool if you’re brave enough to use it (I wasn’t as it would end up looking like a belly button! Lol) Meal times are busy but there’s never much of a queue. I would say it’s a little isolated, but most people stay in the resort. We did a dolphin and whale watching trip which was amazing and organised by TUI. There’s a supermarket 15 minute walk away which is based on Lidl and Aldi. Beach is lovely with stair access directly from the hotel. Entertainment is pretty limited, I think they could do better but we wasn’t too bothered, a few drinks and a nice chat after dinner was all we needed. Definitely would book again.

If you’re considering booking this resort, my advice is simple: DON’T.

I have been on more than 20 holidays with TUI, so I’m not someone who normally complains or leaves negative reviews. In fact, I’ve always been happy to book with TUI.

This holiday changed that.

We booked a 4-star resort and arrived expecting a relaxing break. What we got was an experience that was so disappointing that, by the end of the holiday, we genuinely couldn’t wait to leave.

That alone should tell you everything.

🚨 THE FOOD — AVOID

The main restaurant is basically a crowded canteen serving repetitive food that is frequently lukewarm.

Want something freshly grilled? Be prepared to stand around for roughly 20 minutes waiting for it.

For a supposedly 4-star all-inclusive resort, the food was embarrassing.

I also suffered an evening of extreme stomach pain and vomiting during the holiday. Obviously I cannot say with certainty what caused it, but when you’re paying for an all-inclusive holiday and end up violently ill, it certainly doesn’t inspire confidence in the food hygiene standards.

The speciality restaurants weren’t exactly a rescue mission either.

The Spanish restaurant was probably the least disappointing, but the portions were ridiculously small. We actually had to go back to the main restaurant afterwards because we were still hungry.

That’s some achievement for a “speciality” restaurant.

During our meal, a waiter also spilled soup over the woman sitting next to us. Rather than immediately sorting the situation out, I ended up giving her tissues.

Five-star service.

The Indian restaurant was another disaster, with staff actually arguing with me because I said I didn’t speak Spanish.

Apparently saying “I don’t speak Spanish” is now something that requires a debate.

⏰ WANT DINNER? SET YOUR ALARM FOR 6AM.

Here’s another gem.

Want to eat at the speciality restaurants?

You apparently need to be awake at 6am, two days before the booking slots are released, to fight for a reservation through the app.

You’re on holiday.

You have paid for an all-inclusive package.

And you’re expected to get up at 6am to compete for a table.

Absolutely ridiculous.

🥤 THE DRINKS — CHEAP AND NASTY

The drinks taste like the cheapest possible local brands.

The coffee is borderline undrinkable.

And even getting drinking water is unnecessarily difficult.

Once your initial bottle is finished, you have to go three floors downstairs to a water station to refill it.

Because apparently carrying a bottle of water up and down three floors is part of the luxury experience.

🔐 THE SUITCASE INCIDENT — THIS IS THE ONE THAT REALLY CONCERNS ME

This is the issue that should concern every potential guest.

Cleaning staff attempted to get into our suitcases TWICE.

We reported it to reception.

Surely this would be taken seriously?

No.

We were basically told that because nothing had been stolen, there was nothing they could do.

Let that sink in.

Someone attempting to access your personal belongings isn’t apparently considered a problem until something actually disappears.

I find that completely unacceptable.

I want to be able to leave my belongings in my room without worrying about someone going through them.

🛏️ THE ROOM — NICE BALCONY, TERRIBLE SLEEP

The huge balcony with separate sun loungers was probably the best feature of the room.

Unfortunately, the balcony doors didn’t seal properly, meaning the wind could be heard throughout the night.

The pillow was also awful and left me with agonising neck pain for days.

So even getting a decent night’s sleep was a challenge.

🏖️ THE BEACH

The beach itself is beautiful.

Getting there involves extremely steep steps, so anyone with mobility issues should be aware.

There are also no hotel sun loungers on the beach.

And this is a beach where you’ll see plenty of people sunbathing and walking around completely naked. Again, not necessarily an issue for everyone, but definitely something worth knowing before booking.

🧖 THE SPA & POOL

The spa was actually one of the few good things about the resort.

Quiet, relaxing and enjoyable.

The pool?

Absolutely freezing.

Unless you enjoy swimming in water that feels like it’s been harvested directly from the Arctic, don’t expect much.

🚍 CHECK-IN — CHAOS

Two coaches arrived at the same time and check-in descended into chaos.

Not exactly the calm, welcoming arrival you’d expect from a 4-star resort.

👗 THE DRESS CODE

There was also some bizarre inconsistency regarding the dress code.

Men were told that tops in the canteen had to have sleeves, while the rules appeared considerably more relaxed for women.

Make of that what you will.

❌ THE VERDICT: DO NOT BOOK

There are some nice aspects to this resort.

The balcony was good.

The spa was good.

The beach was nice.

But none of those things make up for the rest of the experience.

This does not feel like a 4-star resort.

In my opinion, it is 3-star at best, and even that feels generous.

The poor food, lukewarm meals, tiny speciality-restaurant portions, awful coffee, cheap drinks, freezing pool, uncomfortable room, ridiculous restaurant booking system, chaotic check-in and — most importantly — the concerns surrounding staff attempting to access our suitcases completely destroyed the holiday for us.

And the biggest indictment of the entire place?

After 20+ holidays with TUI, we went from being loyal repeat customers to seriously questioning whether we will book another TUI holiday again.

Normally, the worst part of a holiday is having to come home.

At this resort, coming home was the highlight.

⚠️ SAVE YOUR MONEY. BOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE.

If you’re currently looking at this resort and thinking “Surely it can’t be that bad?”

Believe the negative reviews.

I wish we had.

DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE.

When i went to the hotel it was pretty cool, it had a cool reception but it toke around 20 minutes per person to sign in! at least I was the second one. Our first thing to do here was swimming, it had no heaters in the pool so it was really cold at the start, but after you get really used to the water like usual, the only thing bad about the pool was them cleaning them at around 12am (when everyone was going to the pool) wich was really bad. The rooms were pretty good, it had a bit of space and a Tv pretty basic, but then the bathroom. The sink was really bad, at the start it kept clogging up and then you have to fix it yourself! And if you want water in your room? too bad they only have 1 or maybe 2 bottles of water you can pour your self in your room, i did see a water machine near the rooms so that kinda saved us, but time to talk about the breakfast, lunch and dinner. when you first get there it seems nice but instead of loud calm music you get birds chirping every 1 min or so, i know its to keep birds away but you could've just done that outside then calm music inside, then the food, at first its really good but after 5 days its really bad. It gets repetitive nearly same deserts on lunch and dinner and there's really big que basically everywhere. For evening entertainment i go to the plaza bar because in the teartre (thats how they call it i think) its just people dancing on stage, but on the plaza bar theres a ton of music and YOU can dance in the middle, but basically everyone dancing on there is drunk like hell, the rooms basically have no air conditining exept the fan but it seems like its always about to break, also DO NOT GET THE PHOTOS the last resort ive been to asked for a photo then asked us to pay about 1000 pounds for it! Im pretty sure its the same everywhere and basically all the sunbeds are taken unless you go early for it, the beach LOOKS awesome but when you actually get it in it its cold, peices of something like hair everywhere, no space, and no drinks over there. In the place where you get your drinks manually like coke sprite or water its all good exept something like the hot choclate or water, if you want those its WAY to hot and i had to wait about 10 min to cool it down and the water is just way to cold only for me. this place has way more small issues but i reccomend going into another place please unless you want to waste your holiday on this trip go for it ( do not go here)
