The 4 star all inclusive hotel Club Jandía Princess in the south of Fuerteventura is a paradise for adults and children alike. Located directly at Playa Esquinzo, this all inclusive hotel has two separate areas, one for adults (as of 18 years) and one for families.
The family area is tailored to the needs of children. The smallest guests just love the “Farm Princess” with its goats, rabbits, chicken and sheep and the vegetable patch, where they can plant and harvest to their heart's delight. The colourful, comic-style painted walls of the mini club describe the adventures of the “Principito”, the mascot of the mini club. It's the perfect place for the daily fun activities with the entertainment team.
The adults-only section is focused on privacy, relaxation and tranquillity. The wellness area offers relax pools, swim-up bar, whirlpools and a spacious fitness centre. A special Body & Mind sports program brings harmony to body and mind. Below the zen-area with its sauna and massage options, steps lead directly to Playa Esquinzo beach. For a small fee, guests of the family section may enjoy the facilities and services of the wellness area in the adults-only area of the hotel.
The core of the 10 building, bright-white complex is the shared pool landscape with its bars, and the main building with its buffet-style restaurants.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Here as a family currently with a 3 year old no entertainment but a kids disco which does the same thing every night nothing in day around pool. I asked Tui to move our hotel when I read other reviews about this hotel after it had gone down hill due to closer Soon. The food ok just same thing most night we have been eating out which means getting a taxi as nothing around but we knew this there no air conditioning so it quite uncomfortable eating dinner too (4 start resort more like 2. The pool area very dangerous cracked tiles in the pool and dirty never see anyone clean it has little worm in it you get get so ill from unclean pools don’t bother booking here and wasting your money some staff very rude too especially the one behind the reception desk the lady
Overall- had a lovely holiday. It’s a great location if you’re just looking to relax and switch off. The view of the beach is stunning and really liked that there is adult only pools. The room was very clean and the housekeeping staff in particular were amazing!
We did have a few issues that’s worth bringing to attention:
Lack of air con: The hotel advertises it has air con throughout and in rooms. In most communal areas such as the restaurant, the aircon is massively lacking. Makes meals not enjoyable. Our room also lacked air con, the hotel did provide a portable AC which we appreciated. Overall, as someone who struggles with heat the lack of aircon was a problem.
Electrocution issue: Unfortunately I got electrocuted by a light switch in our room. This was shortly before maintenance arrived to drop off the ac unit so we explained when they got there- they didn’t speak English so didn’t understand I was electrocuted but could see the switch wasn’t working. We then went to the reception to raise a safety report and they could not care less, they were very dismissive. It was a minor electrocution however it still hurt my hand and made it tingle for 30 mins after. I managed to get in contact with a TUI rep based in the UK who raised the report- can not fault them, they were quick to help. It was concerning how little the hotel reception themselves cared.
Gluten free concerns: I am GF- there was always something’s to eat however very limited and food cross contamination safety was a concern. The staff mislabeled foods as being GF when they weren’t eg on Italian night a tray of spaghetti was labelled GF however when I asked they said it wasn’t… no apologies and the label wasn’t updated. Noticed a lot of pasta dishes labelled as GF after this and foods which clearly contained gluten eg items containing bread. They will make separate GF meals if you enquire however we weren’t told this until day 5 (we stayed 7 days) at dinner but couldn’t put in a “special request” until the morning. Overall the staff including the chefs lacked GF knowledge, would advise the hotel to ensure every person working in the dining area goes through basic training on allergies. It should also be advertised clearer you can request separate meals for allergies.
I’m aware the hotel is going through renovations next month. As it stands, we wouldn’t stay here again especially with the aircon issues but would be open if they had a an upgrade.
This hotel is in terrible condition , we had to move after 5 days.
I have posted 2 reviews of this that have been removed which i dont think is fair considering i am trying to warn other travellers.
The room - a bit dated which isnt a issue but the electral issues are a issue and a danger. The mixer tap also pumped out scalding hot water. We had cock roaches and when reported they left us out cockroach spray. The family room is very small im comparison to other hotels. The aircon doesn't work in the room or anywhere else in the hotel. Our mattress was disgusting and the hotel wouldn't change it until Tui asked them to.
All inclusive - non existent in my opinion, no staff serving drinks , drinks machines do not work , the food is poor. Its certainly not the platinum experience TUI are advertising.
Pool - is ok but it's run down with tiles missing and cracked tiles surrounding the pool.
Security - is non existent security gates to the beach do not lock , there is also a seweage issue on the walkway to the beach.
Staff - mainly angry all over the hotel . Not very helpful rude and aggressive.
We had to move due to safety concerns, Tui defended this place but this was not a holiday it was a ordeal .
If you have booked it try and change if possible. It is due for renovation but this is no excuse for the really poor service provided.
We arrived and had booked with Tui, we got home yesterday, there is no way this hotel is 4* i would say a 3 even a 2, i can not fault the staff and we as a couple found the food great. But the hotel is nothing like tui had put up.. even looking at the pictures on love holiday the reception is awful and nothing like the pictures they have up, had we of known the hotel was closing for a refurbishment we could have at least decided if we still wanted to go, as we pulled up and entered reception i did wonder what we had come into, the seats are all worn and looks dirty the light shades are awful and filthy, this has not happened over night or even last few mths..went to our room it was not clean, there were black marks all over the dressing table that could have been wiped of( we did wipe a few) there was a dead fly on lampshade that has stayed there all week, dryer outside hanging of wall, paint job in bedroom absolutely shocking...skirting boards full of dust and air-conditioning that did not work.... we went to have a look around the pool area and it felt like we were at butlins in the sun.... adults only area far to small...the beach was ok but to be fair we thought margate beach looked much better....the hotel pools are not clean yes they may be cleaned daily but there is tiles missing and black mould around the top of the pools..cracked tiles everywhere and big cracks in the building, we tried to make the most of the week but i would not return i would not recommend and felt tui has been very miss leading in what they advertised. We are not snobs far from it and have stayed in 4* but there is no way that this hotel is this, I understand now its closing for a refurbishment but with the state its in it should be marked down.
I had a lovely time, the pool was lovely and the views and our room were amazing. However, I got food poisoning from the sea food and I know of other guests who also suffered!
