The hotel is located right by Tarajalejo beach, which takes its name from this fishing town. Set in an incomparable setting, the cosy town offers crystal clear waters right by the coast. This area of the island is known for its good climate all year round due to its natural bay and mountain range which protects it from trade winds. It is just a short walk to various restaurants and bars, and the nearest golf course is 45 km away. Tarajalejo is located in the centre of the island, 50 km from Fuerteventura Airport.
From the hotel it is possible to see the beautiful sunsets and, due to its proximity to the sea, guests will be lulled to sleep by the murmur of the waves at any time in the day. The hotel was built in 2007 and comprises a total of 172 rooms spread over 3 floors. Facilities include a lobby with 24-hour reception/check-out service, lift access, bar, restaurant, Internet access, and room service.
The rooms all come with a hairdryer, direct dial telephone, satellite/ cable TV, Internet access, minibar and a safe.
The hotel offers a heated swimming pool with sun loungers, parasols and a poolside snack bar. There is also a gym. The hotel offers spa treatments for a fee.
Breakfast and dinner are offered as a buffet.

Great value for what we paid
The hotel was clean and our room was huge. It had a lovely balcony and a partial sea view. The bathroom was a good size with an excellent shower. The food was plentiful and fresh. We found plenty of variety if you were prepared to be adventurous. The pool area was great, we never had a problem finding a sun bed. It was very peaceful and if you’re looking for total relaxation it’s a great place. Downside was air conditioning. We left it on all day but still could have done with being a couple of degrees cooler. Also beware of the mosquitoes. Evening entertainment was okay but nothing to get excited about. The town itself sadly has little to offer. Scruffy area with nothing really to do. The beach was fine except difficult to get into water as lots of stones. Definitely take sand shoes. Would we return? Maybe, for the price we paid for 10 days it was excellent value.

It’s not 4 star hotel
Cons: Food: We stayed for 7 days with all-inclusive. First night (2/8) was terrible because we arrived late—the buffet was basically empty, cold, and bad. It got better the next days, but
Also A/C is not working properly, in whole hotel there is warm as hell. In the rooms there is weird feeling of dampness
BIG warning: we got raw chicken a few times! Also, a lot of the food was really bland and needed salt/seasoning.
Drinks: The all-inclusive drink selection was a letdown. In a 4-star hotel, you really shouldn't have to pay extra for normal drinks on top of what you already paid.
Beach & Area: The beach right by the hotel is pretty ugly, full of rocks and trash, and the hotel doesn't clean it. Definitely rent a car and go somewhere else. Also, the neighborhood feels a bit sketchy with a ruined, abandoned hotel right next door.
Rooms: We had room 140 and the maintenance was pretty bad. The shower was broken and leaked water into the bedroom, and the tub wasn't cleaned properly. They literally just painted over the mold instead of fixing it. Plus, the beds are on wheels (feels like a hospital bed lol) and you only get one small pillow unless you ask reception for more.
Mosquitoes: Tons of mosquitoes in the room. Local shops don't really sell good repellents, so definitely bring your own from home.
Car rental tip: Avis has a desk here, but it's way more expensive than Cicar. If you have to use Avis, book ASAP because they only have a few cars.
Pros: Staff: Super friendly and always tried to help us out. Pools: Really nice, clean, and good water temp. Location: Supermarket (Spar) is super close. It's a small village vibes, mostly local people on vacation. Overall: It wasn't a complete nightmare, but this is definitely NOT a 4-star hotel.

Peaceful Stay, Disappointing All-Inclusive Experience
We stayed at R2 Bahía Playa Design Hotel in Fuerteventura for one week and, overall, had a pleasant and relaxing holiday.
The hotel is located in a quiet fishing village with just a few restaurants and a bar, making it an ideal destination if you're looking for peace and tranquillity. The hotel itself was spotless throughout our stay, and the staff were consistently friendly, welcoming and helpful. There are two good-sized swimming pools, which were well maintained.
Unfortunately, there were a few downsides. The air conditioning did not work properly, both in the bedrooms and the communal areas, making some parts of the hotel uncomfortably warm. There also weren't enough sun loungers around the pools, so it was often difficult to find one during busy periods.
The biggest disappointment was the all-inclusive food. The quality was well below expectations, with limited variety and many dishes lacking flavour or not being cooked particularly well. While there were a few enjoyable options, the overall standard of the food was poor. The drinks included in the all-inclusive package were also disappointing, especially the cocktails. On the other hand, the premium cocktails available for an additional €6 were very good and definitely worth the extra cost.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay thanks to the peaceful location, the cleanliness of the hotel and the excellent staff. However, the food, drinks and air conditioning significantly detracted from what could otherwise have been an excellent all-inclusive experience.

No return
Be careful, spa not included 25 euros for 90 minutes. Air con was rubbish, bar staff were rude, except Daniela at the poor bar. No tea and coffee facilities. Rooms were dark. It wasn't a quiet hotel. No where to really walk to . Food was either fish or pork. Too many people and food wasn't replaced when they run out Cocktails were rubbish unless you paid 7 euros for the proper ones. Also no smoking area except by the toilets, this was very intimating when you walked passed and there was groups of men there outside the toilets. Entertainment was awful, tbh I will not be returning .
Please turn the aircon on in the rooms and restaurant
We have had a really lovely week except for one thing - please turn the aircon on in the rooms. It's over 30 degrees in the rooms in the evening and it's such a shame. We have a beautiful sea view room, every thing is clean, food is nice - always something to eat. Always get a nice drink too. We would be back if the air con worked but it's just stifling all evening and night. (And we know we aren't the only ones who have said this!)
