Nice hotel but needs and update/refurbishment
Me and my husband stayed at the Riu Olivia Beach in Fuerteventura for our 1st Wedding Anniversary. Our accommodation was located in the quieter apartments which was nice and chilled for us. We enjoyed a relaxing holiday. We noticed the main hotel was much more lively, so we were glad where we were. The hotel staff were lovely and friendly to speak to. We always made an effort to thank them for their service, as we could see they work hard. On our anniversary the hotel thoughtfully treated us to chocolates and sparkling wine. We liked our apartment apart from the not so good AC. However, the hotel quickly responded with providing a fan. Our Tui rep assisted with this too! So we slept much better. Also there was a minor leak which was dealt within 30 mins of reporting it. We appreciated the hotel's prompt action. We noticed water supply stopped about 1AM for a few nights in a row and also the occasional sewerage smell in the apartment. We did not report this as it wasn't constant and may have been a municipal cause? The resort could do with a refurbishment, updating and some maintenance. But it was clean and tidy. The food was nice. It was similar but you always had enough choice and variety. The location was great for the beach and the bus into Corralejo was a short walk. On our anniversary we booked a taxi to Corralejo from reception, as the taxi rank round the corner appeared more expensive.
Fantastic holiday
We had a great week! Myself, my husband and two kids (7&3) stayed in the 2bed apts and my parents stayed over in the double room in the hotel. Couldn't fault any aspect of it! The beach being on the doorstep was such a big hit! We are already talking about booking for next year!

Don’t pay your money for this hotel.
The location was fairly remote though having read about the great bus service we thought it would be all ok - the buses were irregular or just didn’t turn up - we got taxis in the end. The beach was beautiful to look at. The atmosphere around the pool was good during the day, the entertainment team does a good job for families. The rooms are very dated which we expected but when I say dated - I mean 1970’s dated. Even the carpets and curtains were original and really threadbare, though like others have mentioned the rooms are clean. It didn’t represent value for money for us as by day 5 we were both starving as we couldn’t eat the food. Watching children and adults walk in after not washing their hands and touching utensils well and truly put me off. The food was not great at all and repeated day after day.. The entertainment team did a dance every lunch time to announce lunch and go for their siesta - a bit like Butlins in the 1970’s but it made it fun. We move hotels half way through our holiday and we are so glad we did! The hotel has some really good reviews which is why we went along. However, I think the hotel should be closed and knocked down or given a serious refurb. There’s a demolition order on the hotel from what we were told - shame on Riu for allowing paying customers to keep going to a hotel in that state. Oh I forgot to mention the constant smell of drains - trying to enjoy a cocktail wasn’t pleasant with the smell at all. I do not recommend this hotel at all.
Best location right on the beach .In need of renovation but maintained as well as possible
The hotel is right on a lovely beach and is close enough to the town of Corralejo . The communal areas are well maintained and feature everything you could require. The food is of good quality and there is good variety. I have stayed here several times as the value is unsurpassed!. Staff are friendly. The bad points ... The rooms and the hotel itself are in dire need of updating . I think that the threat of closure because its located in a protected area prevents the Riu Group investing more in the property..however .. The staff do the very best to keep it clean and tidy and keep everything working .. I would definitely stay again

Highly recommend!
This hotel is a real gem! Situated on the most pristine and fabulous beach. It is kept spotlessly clean and all the staff work very hard to ensure you have the best time. The food was great and I genuinely didn’t want to leave. The only issue was the air conditioning was very noisy and didn’t really cool the room properly but unspite of that we still had a brilliant time!
