Buendia Corralejo Nohotel

Excellent stay at this hotel. The staff are super friendly and nothing was too much. The WhatsApp chat worked really well also! We stopped in a duplex pool side apartment with front access from the main road. No problem as the apartment had everything we need for self catering. The windows do need to be open along with the fans to keep the rooms cool but this wasn’t an issue. I love the fact that the hotel didn’t seem the need for energy wasting air con and towel cleaning everyday and promoted recycling. The whole stay was really chilled! The vibe around the pool was great and the sunbeds were super cosy! Loved the water beds also! I made good use out of the gym. On our last day we were allowed an extra hour to check out (until 12) after that there were charges to keep the room depending on how long you wanted it for. We were still treated as their guest up to leaving about 5pm ish and made good use of the facilities, storage room and basement shower facilities. Free pool and football table also. Loved the place and will definitely be returning if we come to Corralejo again!

We received a warm friendly welcome and a cold glass of Cava when we arrived. We were able to store our cases in a locked luggage room. We received towels and made use of the facilities while we waited. I loved the overall look and vibe of Buendia no hotel. The pool area was very nice and the sunbeds very comfortable. They have a policy where they remove towels if the bed is unoccupied for 30 mins. The male lifeguard did not seem to bother with this. The majority of guests were very well mannered and just take their towel when leaving, the usual few still tried reserving beds, no guessing what nationality they were. I was always able to get a sunbed at any time but as a family not altogether.

We booked the rooftop apartment. The rooftop was very spacious and a lovely area to have lunch etc. My husband and son are not sun lovers so loved relaxing in the shade of the rooftop. However, there are only 2 sunbeds on the rooftop with is just not ideal when there are 4 persons in the apartment. There is certainly room for 2 more beds. I requested additional but this was not possible. Therefore, the family was split during the day with 2 on the rooftop and 2 by the pool. These sunbeds are also not the yellow comfortable kind that come with the ground floor apartment.

The apartment is large but the kitchen is tiny for self-catering. It wasn’t an issue for us as we never make anything more than a sandwich but I am not sure how a family of 4 would manage if they intended to fully self-cater. There is no free available cupboard for food storage and the fridge is a small under counter fridge with an icebox which just about held a bag of ice, no room for ice-cream etc. There is a lot of appliances, like juicers etc that we never used. Apparently, the ground floor apartments have a full fridge/freezer.

The ceiling fans work well and we left the windows in these rooms open at all times as the window would be very difficult to access. However, in the teenager’s room there is only a floor fan which turns itself off after 4 hours. As the window in this room is along the walkway it could not be left open. That room was very hot even with the blinds always down and doors in all rooms open. They mostly slept in the sitting room which was not ideal.

You receive a pool, shower and hand towel per person on arrival and you can change these at a cost of €4 per set. You can pay an additional fee to have the apartment cleaned and clean towels come in this fee. Everything that I needed to clear it ourselves was available so that is what we did. There is a large clothes dryer on the roof. We brought pegs.

The teenagers loved the gym which was open 24/7 and had a filtered water tap. It is a short 10 min walk to the square but not in a busy area. I did not experience any issues but I would not feel comfortable walking back at night alone or even with another female. We were also able to enter the building every night after midnight without using our key card and I never saw any security.

Staff were always very friendly and helpful. The communal areas very clean. We found the food in the restaurant average but drinks and cocktails were nice.

I would stay here again as it was good value for money and overall I liked the vibe and staff.

Lovely accommodation. Clean, comfortable and looks good. Would benefit from air conditioning but the ceiling fans were pretty good. Staff were lovely and helpful and the pool area was clean and relaxed. We enjoyed the pool table and book swap. They are committed to being environmentally friendly also. The food at the bar was nice but a bit more fancy and expensive than we would have liked.
