Buendía is not a conventional stay. One hundred nine duplex and penthouses created to live a truly local experience. A stay with everything that makes vacations be vacations, in the middle of one of the most beautiful places in Fuerteventura. A no-hotel created at Corralejo for those who, instead of visiting, prefer living it. We don't want our apartments to be the place you stay in during your vacations, but a house you live in when you come to Corralejo. And, you know what they say: your house, your rules. Live whatever you want to in any of our duplex and penthouses with 1 or 2 bedrooms, with sea views or towards our great inner courtyard. Buendía is located in beautiful Corralejo, one of the most magical places in Fuerteventura. You'll be by the sea and only 5 minutes away from the old town, so you can forget about the car or the bus. You're a bike ride away from everywhere!
We have just returned from a weeks stay and we cannot fault it. It is just lovely. The Apartment was ideal for us as a family of 4. Two kids aged 11 and 16. It was very spacious and comfortable.
The pool area was beautiful, you do need to get down quite early if you want a sunbed first thing. But we did find that by the afternoon, quite a few people had left and there were more beds available, which is ideal when the day starts off cloudy, as it usually means you are in for a beautifully hot and sunny afternoon.
We only had Breakfast once while here, but we couldn't fault it, there was plenty of choice. We ate from the pool bar once and our kids really loved the Nachos with pulled pork and also the fries with cheese and bacon.
The staff were amazing, everyone was so friendly and helpful. We had some issues with our room when we arrived, but it was dealt with in such a professional manner that it was all resolved the next day. We cannot leave this review without saying that Selena & Alvaro, who work on reception are an absolute credit to the company. They were so helpful and understanding when we had issues, they couldn't do enough to help us. It made the situation so much easier. We hope they get the recognition the deserve.
The walk to the old town, main town and beaches is not too far, about 10 mins on foot. We found Google maps very helpful at first. We had expected to need to get a taxi back, but it really was not far at all. There are lots of beautiful bars and restaurants nearby, the ones on the sea front are more expensive because of their location though. We went to a Tapas Bar called La Pulperia-Tapas Bar, (not on the front) and it was by far the best meal we had all holiday, and probably one of our best meals out ever! If you are looking for somewhere to eat, we cannot recommend it enough.
There are a few supermarkets nearby where you can get all you need and more while self catering.
We would absolutely stay here again.
Lovely Hotel, great location, only a 10min walk into town. The music square is brillant. We upgraded to a two bed apartmeant with roof terrace had a pool,and street view. Noise in the hotel was good, only had noise from the street side but thats was around 6am. The kitchen area was ok, fridge, two electric ringed top, micowave, and a diswasher :) we cooked most evenings before going out, managed with what we had for two Adults and two teenagers lol. Unfortunately we did'nt really use the roofterrace :( as we was by the pool most days on the lovely sunbeds. Early evening before going out we went up there to have a drink but the cockroaches came out :( :( which i'm not a big fan of :):(. Please don't get me wrong, the whole place was very clean, even walking into and back from town we saw cockroaches. The pool was a wee bit chilly but nice a you was hot lol. So know complants from us. Sunbeds nice and comfy, pool area opend at 9am so had to be there to get a bed, but nothing like a stampede. But if you had'nt but a towel down by 9.30am somee days you would'nt get one. All Staff was friendly always had a smile. Left towels for the bathroom also for the sunloungers which was a bonus.:). What was brillant was the whatsapp group they had * if you had any questions, all you had to do was give them a message,and they got back to you straight.
The hotel is quite modern, the downstairs area is quite large and the equipment in the kitchen is handy, it was quite a chill vibe there, the location is quite handy, your only 5/10 mins away from a hiperdino, and 10 mins away from the marina, the rooms are quite clean, the only downside is that if you get a room facing on the road, you can hear the cars quite early on in the morning, the resturant on site serves quite nice food. They also offer late check out and have shower rooms if you have a late flight and go in the pool before that flight.
Just back from a week at the Buendia and what can I say that hasn’t already been said? We had a great stay. We arrived around midday so had a wait for our room to be ready but check-in was simple & a glass of bubbly was more than welcome. We were able to leave our luggage in the Welcome Loft & we decided to go for something to eat & drink in the pool bar. This is card only which for some can be a pain but we brought a mixture of cash & card so not an issue. We ate here a few times & even had a takeaway one lunch time. Food was delicious and I can absolutely recommend the chicken wrap & loaded fries! All the staff we encountered were friendly & polite. The rooms were clean although the bathroom was a little tired & could use a freshen up but everything worked. Had a small issue with the kettle in our room but this was replaced straightaway. There is no air con but the ceiling fans work well & along with the breeze kept the rooms cool. We had an apartment with a roof terrace & loved our own personal space. The WhatsApp chat was a brilliant asset & really helpful. Whilst here, we celebrated my birthday & the Buendia delivered a bottle of sparkling wine & a card which was so thoughtful & such a lovely personal touch. We ate out in a few places - The Old Town bar being our favourite for breakfast & light meals Corralejo itself felt a bit run down & dirty looking in places and there are many derelict buildings but once you find your way around you can avoid much of this. The main strip is very good though & we wandered along this most days. We visited Oasis Wildlife Park during our stay & would recommend this 100%. Overall we had a great stay & would definitely visit the Buendia again.
I have sung the praises of the Buendia Nohotel many times and once again my wife and I returned for another stay at somewhere that feels welcoming from the moment you set foot inside.
Staff - Excellent. The Welcome Loft, the Housekeeping team and everyone else.
Our flight with Jet2 was delayed by three hours but we were into the apartment without delay when we eventually arrived after midnight. The WhatsApp messaging service ensured that everyone was kept up to date.
Such a warm welcome the following morning at the Welcome Loft from everyone present - thank you.
I have to mention Susanna at &Waves who was so supportive to my wife last September and has kept in touch with her. She also greeted both of us with a big hug.
Apartment - We know what to expect. No issues.
If anyone has any doubts about booking put them behind you and I am sure you will be glad you did.
