Patrons may freshen up at two pools, one of them with separated kids' area or soak up the sun on the poolside terrace. They may also play ping-pong or unwind in the garden and when thirsty, they may enjoy a refreshing drink from the bar.

Poor experience staying at Smy Tahona. Here is an honest review in the knowledge this is a 3 star hotel, so I didn't expect 4/5 star level. I won't be returning but if you do choose to go, don't go all inclusive. Room- very outdated and needs upgraded- we knew there was no air-con when booking but the fan provided was disgusting and smelt when used. Bathroom was awful- cracked tiles, shower was yellowed, bath flimsy, tiles dirty with dead bugs and ants and tiles not cleaned during stay to get rid of these, room smelt during stay ?issue with plumbing. Furniture- rusty and worn. Bed had spring poking through on one bed and both beds were lumpy and you could feels the springs. Lack of sockets. All rooms- metal between rooms on floors had lifted and dangerous, dirty on surfaces, cups weren't clean before our arrival, window wood delayed and need replaced. Restaurant- don't pay for all inclusive! Breakfast good so I would only advise bed and breakfast for this hotel. Lunch and dinner was low quality meats and rice etc. Limited choices at each sitting, especially repetitive desserts. Furniture needs replaced, rusty and fabric worn or stained. We ate out at local bars and restaurants which was cheap and much better quality. Definitely go to Bobby's which is 2 mins walk on same street. Pool area- clean but not enough sunbeds so be prepared for the early morning queue to get one. Pool bar was great however. Lots of choice of drinks for all inclusive including slushies. Food to purchase was great and well priced. Wish we'd not been all inclusive, or why don't they serve this standard in their restaurant instead of cheaper low quality when they can clearly make that higher standard of food. Heated circular pool option was great if the main pool is too cold for you. Kids pool area rusty and not the cleanest. Plenty seating at bar area though. Good job since there wasn't enough loungers! Local area great- lots of restaurants and shops pretty cheap to eat out hence another reason not to go all inclusive. Flea market on a tues and sat. Beach not far. Stray cats fed. 10 mins taxi from airport was €15. Overall- not the best 3* hotel I've stayed in- room and restaurant definitely the worst I've stayed in. I've stayed in plenty 3* and expected better.
Good location close to the centre and not too far for the beach. Staff were friendly, the buffet breakfast was good and the pool bar was reasonable. The accommodation was quite basic with limited plug sockets and no fan in the bathroom so it was always hot. The beds were comfy and the bedding clean however cleanliness wasn't the best. Good provision of towels.
Enjoyed our stay here. Rooms are clean and spacious. We thought food and choice each day was excellent always warm and plenty of choice. I really dont get some of reviews i read before we got there. Sunbeds was hit and miss. But i wont get into a battle for one so if we could get couple we did if not we didnt bother its quite amusing watching sunbed wars. The manager moved towels if left which you are warned about. Staff were all excellent work very hard.

All in all we had fantastic week and met a couple of ladies we shall be staying on touch with.

This is my third visit to this hotel (second one this year) we got off to a bit of a rocky start as my shoes went missing from the luggage room our first day (Room wasn’t ready when we first arrived) the reception team were very helpful and contacted all guests who had recently checked in and located the shoes which had been picked up by another guest by mistake.
On our previous visits we were lucky to have very nice rooms, unfortunately on this occasion we weren't so lucky and had to change rooms twice - again the reception team were very understanding showed us various rooms that were available.
The food at the hotel is fantastic and I noticed they have increased the available cocktails on the all inclusive, which is of course an added bonus.
I’ve only ever stayed in May previously and there was no issues getting a sun lounger however in July they get snapped up quick. That being said the life guards on duty are very consistent in the fact that if the sunbed isn’t being used for an extended period the towels are removed - naturally this caused some unhappy guests round the pool however the hotel is very clear that this is their policy.
One of the life guards (I can’t remember his name) was even in the pool at some points during the day teaching some of the younger children how to swim more confidently, which I thought was a nice touch.
We have booked again for November and are throughly looking forward to a bit of winter sun at this lovely hotel.
Ok so what you read about the hotel in my opinion as I do around 6/7 budget holidays a year and this one has to be up there with the best budget hotels the food is always hot has some nice flavours and overall was not bad at all the life gaurd Arnel is out standing controls the pool well and is good with the kids helping and giving life saving equipment if he has it available 5 star man then we have the waitress / bar maid Ivisleys always has a smile on her face and happy to help out was helping me to learn Spanish words room was clean and tidy every day entertainer was happy in her work now the bad part lack of sun beds over all. I would stay again 9/10 for a budget hotel stay sunbeds is a big issue
