Caleta de Fuste

Designed as a small village, with pedestrian streets, squares and gardens, this hotel complex is located just 300 metres from Caleta de Fuste Beach. Thanks to the location and easy access to public transportation links, this hotel is ideal for a beach holiday and is also a great starting point from which to explore the island. The island's capital of Puerto de Rosario is about 10 km from the hotel and Fuerteventura international airport is 7 km away. Nearby, is Caleta de Fuste, a charming fishing village with a marina and a variety of restaurants, bars and shops.

Fantastic Family Holiday

Really enjoyable family trip away. Made even more memorable by the excellent entertainment team. Restaurant - You can always find something to suit most tastes. If travelling as a family, I would advise getting down for 7 (when it opens). Once you've eaten, you have a table ready for the evening entertainment. Rooms - Basic, but clean. We travelled as a party of 3. We moved the sofa bed into the bedroom and pushed our 3 x beds together. Downside, we had to check out for 11am and did not get picked up until 5pm (Jet 2). No courtesy rooms available. Only a storage room and use of a public toilet. Hotel location - Fantastic location, short trip from the airport. Plenty of places to eat, drink and shop nearby. Great shop on the corner (China Shop) where you can purchase pool inflatables. Beach - Probably a 10 minute walk away. Very nice and clean. We would recommend following the beach path along and seeing the chipmunks on the rocks. Pools - 3 x pools in total. 1 x pool is a kids area / splash pool, 1 x pool is the entertainment pool (water polo etc) and 1 x pool is more of a play pool for floats etc, loved by our 8 year old. The only trouble was, I think the filter wasn't working properly towards the end of our stay. Lots of bits floating in the pool. Drinks - Lager on tap is Amstel, plenty of cocktails on the menu. I would highly recommend the fruit punch with Vodka, make it a large. We would recommend beach shoes for the pool area and to use them in the pool as the pool tiles can be a bit rough. We will be returning to this hotel, fell in love with Fuerteventura and met some great people. Roll on 2027 :)

Great holiday! Would recommend

We went self catering and can’t recommend the hotel enough. The room had everything we needed to cook for 4 for a week. Yes there was no air con, but we knew that when booking. The pool areas were cleared and cleaned every evening and the lifeguard was very attentive. Entertainment area was smaller than expected but didn’t massively affect us. Housekeeping came 5/7 days and the apartment always felt thoroughly cleaned. Only a short walk to the beach and bar area so location was brilliant. We had a great time and wouldn't hesitate to go back!

Really poor hotel

There is no air conditioning in the rooms. Just a slow fan in the bedroom. The hotel knows how bad it is because upon arrival they offered us an additional stand fan. We had to report the hob for not working and the microwave oven had no labels which made it impossible to use. The bar wouldn't even give us some ice until someone complained for a similar request. It's very expensive unless you're all inclusive. It's quite busy at the pool area and you have to put out towels at 8am to get a lounger, otherwise you'll be stuck without. The only positive is the location is pretty good. I wouldn't stay here again.

Could be better but ok!

This was our second stay at the Bromcemar & I wanted to give an honest review.

Upon arrival - we got there at around 11am. The room was not ready until the afternoon (4pm) but we could use the luggage room and facilities. Check out - this was a different matter! We had to check out at 11am and our flight had been delayed till 10pm. They had no facilities for showering or the opportunity for a later check out because there appeared to be (not even joking) around 100 people arriving at the hotel at the same time at 11am - all using the luggage room, it was absolute chaos. We ended up sitting in the reception and then leaving to go elsewhere before our flight. Disappointing but it was not great!

Food - all inclusive is very much the same, all edible dishes but lacking on deserts - the cakes were all the same and taste like what can only be described as a fridge 😂 breakfast was the best meal of the day. The waiters and waitresses worked very hard. The drinks were good, the only slight issue is that sometimes the machines ran out or were broken but again, these were fixed easily enough.

Rooms - we had a standard deluxe room. The first room we had to move from as we were located right above the entertainment and after 2 hours sleep in 24 hours it was too loud (again, for some this is fine but we needed sleep!) They moved us straight away to a room in a quieter location which was much better and were very kind about it. The room itself is standard, could do with a deep clean as they are quite grubby but it does the job - housekeeping changed the sheets and towels every few days. A few cockroaches and ants but nothing major. We requested a later check out as we had a late flight but they said this wasnt possible. Slightly disappointing that there isnt a shower room to use. They have a luggage room but it would have been good to have proper changing facilities for those who needed it with the later flight.

Pool - the pool itself is ok, there are two pools with a splash area for children. It does get very wet and slippery so you have to be careful. The pool was quite dirty, lots of black bits in both pools and grubby around the sides - again, would benefit from a good clean but it wasn't horrendous. Sunbeds - my partner went out most mornings to get some as we spent most of our days around the pool. Again, not awful in comparison to some hotels but frustrating for those who "reserve" sunbeds with towels and then don't turn up till late afternoon! The toilets by the swimming pool were not clean, very unhygienic, dirty and not very nice.

Entertainment - I have to give a particular shout out to Emma from the entertainment team. She was here when we came 2 years ago and she hands down made the team. She worked so hard, she was chatty, kind, enthusiastic and pretty much ran most of the games etc! We saw the others occasionally, Matias (sorry if this is spelt wrong!) Fanny and Alexandra - all lovely and friendly. There was also a new girl who started whilst we were there who you could see really tried her best and was putting lots of effort in. We did notice however that the head male entertainer was not as present or engaged as he had been previously. Again, I am sure behind the scenes he worked very hard but we rarely saw him engage with the activities or guests as his focus appears to now be his social media following rather than the hotel entertainment. This is no criticism just an observation from our experience. They were all really lovely so again, this is not a negative but purely ours and a few others view. However, a special mention needs to go to Emma. The external entertainment in the evenings wasnt the best, but if you walk down into Caleta the atmosphere is lively with lots of nice bars and restaurants.

Caleta - a central location to shops, a 5 minute walk to the beach and 10 minutes in a taxi to the airport so location wise, it was great.

This is a honest review from our experience as a young family. I would say definitely a three star hotel. Overall we had a nice time. If you are after 5 star luxury, this isnt for you. It needs a big clean and re vamp. However, for young families, it has everything that is needed and everyone is very friendly and polite. The resort feels safe and is in a good location. Would we return for a third time? Probably not now due to a few of the issues mentioned above and we feel we could get a much nicer resort for the price we paid. However, everyone is entitled to their own opinions and overall we had a lovely holiday in Fuertuventura. This review is purely for transparency and from our own personal experience!

Overall a fine experience, unlikely to return.

We’ve just finished a 7-night stay at Broncemar Beach and, overall, we did have a decent holiday. There are some really good things about the place.

The layout of the hotel is lovely. It feels a bit like a small village rather than one big hotel block, which we liked. The rooms are a good size, the pools are fine, and the splash park was a big hit with our children. The animation team were also really friendly and clearly worked hard. Food-wise, a lot of what we had was tasty, and when things were running well, it was a perfectly pleasant place to be.

That said, for a 4-star hotel, there were quite a few things that let it down.

Housekeeping was one of the main issues. We were there for 7 nights and only had housekeeping on 3 of those days, so we went 4 days without fresh towels or sheets. When housekeeping did come, it didn’t really feel like much cleaning happened. The beds were made, but the floors weren’t swept and the room didn’t feel properly cleaned.

There also didn’t seem to be any effort to remove used crockery or drinks cups from the room, including cups from the bar. With two young children, sandy feet, snacks everywhere, dirty nappies and the heat, this became frustrating very quickly. Because we didn’t have regular housekeeping visits, we were left living with the smell of dirty nappies every day, which was only made worse by the heat in the room.

The food service was also hit and miss. The food itself was often nice, but it was inconsistent. Breakfast was the biggest problem. Fried eggs were rarely ready and on some mornings you could be waiting 15–30 minutes for one. Main dishes at lunch and dinner were also slow to be replenished, so mealtimes felt harder than they needed to be, especially with small children.

There were also some hygiene concerns during food service. My wife saw kitchen staff biting their nails and picking their nose during service, which was really unpleasant to witness in a restaurant setting. We also saw cockroaches in both the accommodation and the restaurant areas. I understand this is a hot climate and that insects can happen, but seeing them where food is served is not something you want.

The bars were much the same. Some staff made good drinks with ice and fruit, others seemed to just throw them together with very little care. Soft drinks were regularly not working, and on two mornings there was no coffee because the machines were down. No coffee in the morning on holiday is not ideal, especially when you’re travelling with children and already running on fumes.

The splash park was one of the main reasons we chose the hotel, and most days the children loved it. But one morning it wasn’t turned on until about 11:45. We had been out since 9am waiting for it, and by just after midday the kids had had enough and we left the pool area. For a family hotel, and with the splash area being such a big selling point, that was disappointing.

Cleanliness around the hotel could also be better. The poolside toilets and outside areas didn’t feel cleaned often enough. In the mornings, the restaurant and surrounding areas sometimes felt like they were still recovering from the night before. Cleaners seemed to start at the same time the restaurant opened, so you were walking into areas that didn’t feel ready for the day.

The lack of air conditioning was probably the biggest issue for us. We had read before travelling that there was air con, but looking back it seems it isn’t actually specified for the rooms. That really needs to be clearer. The room was very hot, and with young children going to bed at around 7pm, it had a real impact on the holiday. Sleep is everything with small children, and the heat made evenings and nights much harder than they needed to be.

The children’s activity room was also underwhelming. It was very hot, quite bare, and had old or broken toys. It felt more like an afterthought than a proper kids’ space, which is a shame because it could be really useful for families.

There were a few smaller frustrations too. Sunbeds were stacked really high in the mornings, and my wife struggled to get one down without any help being offered. The WiFi was also basically useless. It’s advertised as being available, but we had to use our own mobile data whenever we needed the internet.

So overall, we did have some nice moments and the children enjoyed parts of the holiday, especially the splash park and pools. The hotel has a lot of potential and some genuinely good points. But the basics need to be better: housekeeping, cleanliness, food replenishment, hygiene during food service, working drinks machines, coffee, WiFi, clearer information about air conditioning, and better maintenance of the children’s areas.

It wasn’t a bad holiday, but it also didn’t feel like the 4-star family experience we expected.
